Technology
Unique Fronius PC board replacement process
The foundation of the unique PC board replacement process is laid as we develop our inverters, as PC boards can only be replaced if the device has been designed accordingly. This enables our Fronius Service Partners to provide the fastest inverter servicing on the market.
SnapINverter mounting system
The special feature in the design of our devices is that the connection compartment is separate from the power stage set compartment. They are installed separately. The connection area and all its cabling is fitted to the wall first. The power stage set compartment is fitted afterwards. The innovative SnapINverter mounting system makes installation and servicing extremely user-friendly. The inverter is simply placed in the wall bracket and then secured. It is not necessary to remove the entire inverter for servicing, just the power stage set compartment. All the cabling, settings and configurations remain in place.
Integrated WLAN interface
Simple, user-friendly system monitoring is very important to Fronius. With the Fronius Datamanager, we are the first inverter manufacturer to offer a WLAN interface in the inverter itself. The inverter is connected to the internet without additional cabling and grants you the perfect overview of how the PV system is operating.
Open data communication
It is easy to connect Fronius inverters with components from third party suppliers. The open Modbus TCP SunSpec standard protocol provides a simple way of establishing a data connection to other systems. The protocol is used via the existing Ethernet interface, guaranteeing reliable communication.
Smart Grid Ready
Fronius inverters are ready for the Smart Grid of tomorrow. The inverters are optimally equipped to meet the technical requirements of grids in the future. A series of smart functions, known as Advanced Grid Features, are built into the devices. These include a number of control functions for optimum feed-in of reactive power and effective power. These functions are designed to enable stable grid operation even when the PV system density is very high and to prevent unwanted interruptions to feed-in and associated yield losses. I would like to tell everyone my experience with a Fronius inverter. Paying a premium, I thought I was getting a quality inverter with a 10-year warranty. After 2 years of use the inverter stopped working but I thought it will be ok, the inverter has a 10-year warranty. I called Fronius and they told me a code came up that one of my solar panels must have got wet and shorted to ground and fried the inverter or it’s a bad install and they don’t cover that. They told me I could test this by measuring voltage to ground and it should be no more than one volt to ground. I measured the voltage and only had one volt, so I did not have a solar panel shorting to ground. correct me if I am wrong but isn’t the purpose of a ground is to direct the current to ground so no one gets shocked? Before installing a new inverter, I had someone come out and inspect my system to make sure there was nothing wrong and they said they couldn’t find any problems. I installed another inverter and its been running great with my same solar array that Fronius told me was bad. Fronius does not honor their warranties. Don’t get screwed like I did, buy something else.
Why you using a makita in the electrical connections terminal? You have less control/feel then with the manual screwdriver.

Is the data cable coming from the inverter? So is it first coming from the wifi router to the inverter and then to the smart meter?
Is it loud? The specsheet says 65db
