I've been watching you for a long time and this is one of the games that I have and know is hard good to see you try but take the time off and beat the character
SnK bosses taught me at a young age how adult life was going to be, you will get hit on reaction through everything, the fight is never fair, you'll get pissed off but you have to deal with it, thank you SnK for showing me how adult life was in a premature age, now i dont even fight anymore, i just wait for the time limit to reach, there are no cheap plays, only the ones that see the ending cutscene and those that do not see.
Justin's face at 6:48 is what normal humans in online ranked of any game look like after playing against Justin's cheapness. They sit there like "I didn't even get to play"... welcome to the other side Jwong 🤣

I managed to fetch a PS2 copy of this game back then. Pretty awesome title, imo. SNK even managed to sneak some lore with this game about how piracy bankrupt then.

Without piracy, nobody would know SNK in Europe. Most good SNK games never got released in Europe. No KOF for PS1, no Garou, no Capcom vs SNK 2 etx. They started releasing more SNK games during the ps2 era but not too many in Europe. I will be honest. Without roms or backups for PS1 I would have never seen a SNK game. These days I buy everything from SNK just to support them.
@@NantoShin I think I understand what you mean. My dad is French and I lived with him for a while. While I do remember playing Capcom games at the arcades, I don't remember seeing that very many Neo Geo cabinets. Though, there were some. But, you seem to focus on consoles ports that were mostly Japan-exclusive. That wasn't really the point. The point is that their data showed sales worldwide dropped as soon as people were pirating their Neo Geo MVS cartridges. Roms were so easily ripped that chances are almost 100% certain if you stumble upon one, specially in South America, the cabinet is one of those multi-game bootlegs. If emulation or ripping is the only way you can experience a game, I don't think anyone can blame you. I certainly don't. Europe did not get a Final Fantasy game until FF7, for example. In my case, I emulated games that were not localised in French at the time. My heart still goes out to all the fans that took the tremendous time and effort to localise and patch a game when the very company that owns it did not do it. Like Chrono Trigger and Earthbound, I would have never been able to play those had it not been for the French patches at the time.
The arcade mode of this game was so bullshit. It was basically time limited, no matter your skill level. It felt like you were renting the cabinet by the seconds. The "true ending" was basically impossible to get.
No matter how much I like the game, I agree with you, not to mention that in some versions if you wanted to make your KO score in single player get registred, you had to do a 1-credit run AND beat it by defeating Goodman, back then when I played it on the arcade, I was saw as a hero when I managed to get to Goodman and beat him (not 1st try but still..., because nobody was able to face him back then).
Imported a copy back in the PS2 era. Loved it, but it was SUPER tough!! I just downloaded it on my Xbox. Re-living the moments. You’re right, Justin. It just didn’t get the love it deserves. And the bosses are STUPID hard!!!
Ah Neo Geo Battle Coliseum - the one with some of THE MOST unfair bosses in fighting game history. What makes them so hard is that their red health recovers WAY too quickly, not to mention having CPU-exclusive moves. My strategy was spammng Haohmaru's standing HP or Terry's HP Burning Knuckle, which hit hard and reduced red life.
SNK Fans: Orochi was a pushover. SNK: Don't worry that won't happen again. SNK Fans: MIZUCHI IS BS! I can't believe that he is suppose to have less power than orochi.
This actually makes ME feel ridiculous for WINNING against it... I think you have to use the Hyper Charge, then tag, then burn meter with the powered up character because it kills the red/recovery.
I love this game, I got it on PS2 & have been thinking of rebuying on Xbox 360. Most characters are pretty OP. Haomaru's strong slash takes off 75% life in one hit!
The bosses in this are actually a little tamer than the usual snk bosses. I think you need to fight some omega rugals. Tag combos erase red hp in this game for free also
@@BluuDemon Rugal is hard but not cheap, Mizuchi is just straight up cheap and if they allowed him to do anything you would literally never touch him, at least Rugal is "fair"

I always thought Goodman was a cool final boss from a story perspective. His shtick being making clones which ties into mirror matches makes him really interesting to me. I really wish SNK would bring him back.
I'd love to see if you can shred this game. Both this and KoF XI got released side-by-side and are incredibly underrated. If they ever do a XI UM, it needs to be a combo of these two games (and if there's any missing bodies from '03? Maybe that too).
You're one of the first people I've seen mention kof 03 it's honestly one of my favorites with it's tag mechanics really wish it got a full release that wasn't the ports on ps4 and Xone

@@comment2122 Yeah Mukai was cheap too, but at least I was able to beat him 2 or 3 times in the arcade back in the day (most of the time I'll lose to Ash). I NEVER won KOF XI with a single token.
Any time I got to a frustrated point with this guy, I'd just cheese him with Haohmaru's strong slash. Really any of the bosses lol. It's crazy op in this game. Usually would tear through the game with Kaede and Shiki though. Man, just thinking about some of the characters and their movesets... This was a really fun game. Wish it had garnered more attention.
Kind of ironic that one of the hardest bosses of NGBC is the default boss... but to be honest... I have MORE troubles with King Leo than Mizuchi and Neo Dio is the one that usually don't make me suffer a lot (Goodman is another case because all depends on the two characters I use for the fight as I can find some sort of workaround with some who have a bad time against him).
@@NightmareSnake Yup, Haohmaru and Genjyuro also have an easy time with just their strong slash attack as soon as Goodman does an attack, but yeah, most of the cast really need a perfect timing on their attacks to do something decent, and even so, Goodman has a flaw or two you can somewhat exploit easily depending on your characters.
Goodman gets beaten by any dash attack. I remember beating that boss via using Terry's burning knuckle. Terry is low? Tag to K and do the same with his flying kick.
@@doodoo2065 Yup, most characters who has a good dash attack nukes Goodman with little problems (but still, characters like Haohmaru can just cheese him with the high slash attack), otherwise you have to find the tools, range AND timing (but sometimes you might have a chance for a wake up DM, but said DM depends on your current character, not to mention that some of them can KO any of the 4 bosses if their health is low enough even if their health is decently high for most attacks taking in mind the quick health regen they have) to make it work, as going for fancy combos is not really a good choice at all.
Basically you have to wait for it, applies for snk bosses. If you use chars with multiple hits like ryo or robert its super easier. I think of hard bosses and i remember kof2002um, like rugal and nm geese
Main reason this game didn't get much love is that it released around the same time as KoFXI, so most SNK fans went to play KoFXI instead, just SNK shooting themselves in the foot.
KoF bosses have always been difficult af to beat . I love fighting games I grew up in the early 2000s going to arcades . Once you got pretty good at street fighter and Mvc . You would always gravitate to KOF because of the difficulty and mechanics .

I've only really played very few kof/snk titles and I'm glad I never played this one. I thought tekken 5 jinpachi was absolute bs back in the day but this boss would've made me literally tear my hair out.

Highly underrated and super fun albeit missing some core SNK mechanics here and there like Roll Evades yet still manages to be ridiculously fun! and it has my Sam Sho main Asura Zanmaden! I use so many teams in this game lol and yeah the bosses are crazy insane. This game DEFINITELY deserves a proper sequel Why Orochi/Mizuchi hit you with the Tengou Tenge at 6:44 tho bro? Lol Definitely keep the SNK Content coming bro. also Team attacks have a weird property in this game as they do little damage but if I recall correctly, they are meant to eliminate the opponent's red recovery health.
I use to go to alot of tournaments for this game back in the day. Weirdly enough the state of North Carolina use to body people in this game everywhere there was a tournament.
NGBC is such an underrated gem it's much better than Capcom Fighting Jam I own this game on PS2 and Xbox 360 the mechanics are really solid and the roster is greatly composed amd the bosses are seriously cheap af.
After watching this video I had to see if there was a way of beating this end boss and there is! It’s just hard af and just gotta land combos and pretty much not let mizuchi land a hit and not let him breath lol
I purchased this game for my PS2 and I regret selling it. Justin you make a good point about the game being a SNK version of CFJ. I believe that Capcom should give it another shot and emulate this formula because I believe in my heart there will never be another Capcom vs fighter thanks to marvel and Disney.

I love Neo Geo Battle Coliseum. In my mind, it's the MvC of SNK properties, least with the mashup of franchises.

KOF XI's Magaki (the final boss) is the cheapest boss I've encountered in my humble opinion.

For some reason Nakoruru cheese just destroys Goodman. He has no idea what to do against the slide move.

I spent so many pesos at the corner stores in Mexico trying to beat this boss. My cousins and I never could beat Orochi

I got a good laugh out of this but I feel your pain here. The OP bosses are the only major downside of this game, especially Mizuchi.

After watching this video I had to see if there was a way of beating this end boss and there is! It’s just hard af and just gotta land combos and pretty much not let mizuchi land a hit and not let him breath lol

I purchased this game for my PS2 and I regret selling it. Justin you make a good point about the game being a SNK version of CFJ. I believe that Capcom should give it another shot and emulate this formula because I believe in my heart there will never be another Capcom vs fighter thanks to marvel and Disney.
