- Finally here on the channel we are discussing Jimmy Neutron, a show that is probsbly very high on my overall favorite cartoons list. Today we will take a look at what may be the weirdest episode in the shows history... and that's saying something because Jimmy Neutron was mostly weird moments!

I never realized how weird a lot of these concepts were as a child. Weirdness in cartoons just was so common, a 10 year old boy being pregnant seemed like just another Tuesday.

Yup. The 90s and early 2000s really was a lawless time where the media could practically get away with anything as a concept for an episode if they wanted to.

The most disturbing part of Carl’s water breaking is knowing that Carl doesn’t have the female reproductive parts needed to have your water break. And honestly I don’t want to know any further details on how the water breakage went down 😭

My mom didn't let me watch Harry Potter as a kid because she was told it was about kids who worship the devil. And she thought Power Rangers was too violent, despite letting me play beat em up video games like Turtles in Time as a kid. To this day I do not understand the thought process on either of my parents.

I have absolutely no memory of this episode at all. I probably completely blanked it from my memory because of pure trauma
I remember watching it more than once but I was way younger than 10 (don't remember the exact age) and didn't think it was too crazy. Now I think its whack, like a lot of Nicktoons I've seen as a kid tbh.

To be honest all these episodes are lost memories to me, I’ve seen them all so many times when I was a child but it’s been so long I’ve forgotten every detail..

actually what's funny is that episode is how the parents weren't mad or anything else in that nature and were like, yeah we know what to do in this type of situation

Everytime someone talks about Jimmy Neutron I have to point two things:
1. How Hugh was the BEST dad out there, caring for his son and accepting him for who he is (love the episodes when they develop their father-son relationship like the puppet one or when Hugh went all Alex Turner type).
2. This show was EXCELLENT, comedy gold and absolutely smart, for example, in the episode where Cindy and Jimmy change bodies and Libby, Sheen and Carl have to sort out their memories into their correct heads, they deleted the last trait that made them incompatable, so basically Cindy and Jimmy developed their relationship because their friends removed that personality trait about "Extreme dislike of girls who dislike boys..."
OKAY I NEVER GOT THAT LINE AND WHAT IT MEANT UNTIL THIS COMMENT THANK YOU LOL THAT EXPLAINS cindy bringing up them holding hands and kissing thing at the end too holy shit i...
Another thing I realized about the body switching episode: Carl, Libby, and Sheen probably made some mistakes. So in addition to deleting that last trait, Cindy probably got a few of Jimmy's former traits and Jimmy got some of Cindy's. Which would probably make them even more compatible.

I’ve never said it out loud but just in my head, but if I’m in a line waiting for something important or waiting my turn for something, when the person would say that this is important for them and would take their sweet ass time finishing it, I would imagine myself saying, “Don’t be selfish. Other people have problems too.”
Even as a kid, I knew the process of Carl being pregnant and giving "birth" was weird and disturbing

The most insane part is that the concept of "Mpreg" would be revisited another three times on other Nickelodeon shows such as The Fairly Oddparents, Henry Danger and Sanjay and Craig.
Yes, the last one was simply just Sanjay having flatulence problems but they treated it like a pregnancy.
I think Ren and Stimpy also did it as well

Fairly odd parents had a male pregnancy episode too. And so did Henry danger, & Sanjay and craig............... noticed how theses are all shows on Nickelodeon
Don't forget The Troop, where Jake got injected by an alien in the neck and gave birth to a baby alien. It was also on Nickelodeon lol

it feels like a weird fanfiction if Alien was part of the jimmy neutron universe- but the aliens were not genocidal and murderous by nature. Also the jellies look kinda like metroids.
Unless it's about a Seahorse, kids shows/movies doing a male pregnancy story is always disturbing.
Not only that the fact it involves children is even more creepy
The only other male pregnancy episode was in Star Trek: Enterprise, and that's adult sci-fi, so weirdness is expected on the regular.

or the one where Jimmy and Cindy get trapped on that island and almost insinuates that's fuck island.

The future episode was actually about them stopping LIBBY from getting the present. Cindy did appear in the episode and in the future she’s future Jimmy’s wife, the show was amazing though

The third episode you've mentioned was actually LIBBY'S BIRTHDAY, not Cindy's. Cindy was barely in the episode (except for maybe the shown future 😉😉, or that part when Cindy tried to stop the boys from 'ruining' Libby's bday)

Growing up with cartoons like this in the 2000s along with Newgrounds is probably why I'm so desensitized to a lot of things...

Sheen's Brain was the nightmare episode for me. It was so terrifying for me back then that even now if I see clips I shiver slightly.

I find it so strange that this troupe of 'The supernatural pregnancy" is so clearly a horror concept and yet there are probably more examples of it that can be found outside of the horror genre and even quite a few of them that occur in kids media.
My favorite part of this episode is Butch in school stacking sticks.

One little over looked detail, from this episode is the fact that technically the big mother Jellyfish's son is actually dead, and that is her grandson. It was presumably one of her babies that inpregnated Carl, so the baby was Carl's son. So technically speaking, Jimmy, killed her son, and then, Carl willing gives his son to her. This over all episode was just weird and I can't believe( aswell miss) what cartoons used to be able to get away with.

I remember howling as a kid when Sheen just belts out "YOU'RE PREGNANT!?" what a heckin' trip this episode was. Never finished it for some reason when it first aired tho.

I love how at the beginning of the episode of Jimmy Neutron it's an alien reference; but at the end of the episode Carl gave birth to a metroid. I was waiting for Samus or Ridley to show up.

There was…an alarming number of cartoons when i was a kid that had the “male pregnancy” episode? Off the top of my head there’s this, fairly odd parents, and ben ten alien force. What was it with cartoons and making one of their male characters pregnant for an episode????

Jimmy Neutron is fun bc very few episodes have believable plots. Like, someone can describe an episode and it's really that hard to tell if they're making it up. Do you remember how in Jimmy Neutron:
•Jimmy went streaking through his college?
•Jimmy created nano bots, of all things, to deal with his BULLIES and they tried on multiple occasions to destroy the world as we know it (bc, of course, a 10 year old scientist doesn't have the heart to completely destroy the sentient AI he made even if it's proven harmful to humanity)?
•Granny aliens brainwashed everyone?
•Jimmy makes a candy drug?
•The egg guys from the movie returned? And they appeared again in the extra long episode where everyone is forced to join an alien game show? (Either way, those episodes were Way to hard to catch on air…)
•Sheen enters a mirim novel bc he can put his feet behind his head?
•Skeet's amazing existence lured aliens to earth, but we never saw Skeet again which probably says something about his true powers…?
•The Twonkies from the start of season 3 made cameos in every remaining episode after their defeat?
To name a few.

I don't think I found the premise weird, Jimmy Neutron was a scifi show so an alien living inside of someone wasn't really out of the question, however the direction they went with it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I was thinking it would be more like a parasite situation and there'd be a rush to get it out of Carl, but instead it turned out to be a pregnancy parody, so I remember going "oh, I thought it'd be more tense" and being slightly disappointed. But over time I came to accept the episode for what it was rather than for what it wasn't, so I enjoyed it like any other. I dunno, I guess my perspective is a bit different to some others.
I was never disturbed by this episode as a kid. Always thought it was hilarious.

Y'know, I somehow completely forgot this episode existed until like a year or two ago when someone else brought it up as the weirdest JN episode. I don't wanna say I blocked it from memory, since I have an extremely high tolerance for weird, and still did even back then.
Really, a lot of JN episodes were weird. They really used the boy genius excuse to do literally whatever they felt like. And I loved it. More than even Dexter's Lab, which I realize is probably heresy to say.
Oof this episode made me so uncomfortable when I was a kid, but then again I had no problem with the cosmo getting pregnant episode...its funny
