@@alexcattaneomusic Absolutely. When you manage to get to Calling Elivs I did find this clip of Paul's where he discusses and plays a small bit of it. Enjoy. th-cam.com/video/sTo0iRDB4Rs/w-d-xo.html
Is your name really Alan Smithee? Hahaha, I laugh every time I see that name. I once had a song I produced credited to this name after an A&R guy from the record label messed with it. Anyhow, thanks!
Yes, that's on my list for sure. I also play the solo from On Every Street, which is my favourite one on that record. I just need to film it at some point. Cheers!
Hey! Yes, I removed the pad and installed this 6-string neck made by 2D guitars. I usually tune it to open D, depends on the repertoire. I also use the Fishman Aura Jerry Douglass for a dobro simulator. Makes for a very versatile setup.
@@alexcattaneomusic Thanks for your quick reply! During the late 70s I worked with some amazing pedal steel players when I lived in Wichita. I never learned to "fingerpick" banjo or steel but play guitar holding a pick with my thumb/index finger using my middle and ring fingers a lot. I played a little pedal steel during the 80s----never live----just during rehearsals. I used to have a wonderful ShoBud double neck (sadly sold it) and I now have a custom made single neck with 3 foot pedals and 3 knee levers. Hoping to learn to play a bit. Check out "SHO BUD PEDAL STEEL GUITAR PATRIK ANTHONY" on TH-cam to see many pics of a gorgeous vintage Sho Bud backed by George Straight's "When Did You Stop Loving Me".
Fantastic, such an addictive sound. I could loop this for an hour and drink beer. Excellent! 👍

YOU-EFFING-NAILED-IT, man!!!!
Mark Knopfler knew why he took Paul Franklin for his concert in France, Nimes, 1992...
He also knew why he wanted Vince Gill in the band.
Beautiful!
Phantastic!!!!😍
Wow this Steel pedal is so Powerful.
Pour moi il était très famous et tu le rends admirablement! Très cool!
killing it. I'm jealous. wait till you get one of Franklin's signature speakers, you'll be complete yo.
10 min version please 🙏
Great! You nailed this one. They should have asked Franklin for the studio version too.
Incredible cover🧡
Killed it! Sounded sublime.
Fellow, you really have “guitar hands”. Those fingers can probably play both necks at once 👍
Thanks! I have just released some original music featuring pedal steel: found.ee/on9wvk

Great job!
I stopped trying after 4 days and page 4 of 13 xD. Wel done!
Well, if it's any consolation, it took me a lot more than 4 days to learn it and get it up to speed. Be patient and you'll get there.
BRAVO !!!

@@alexcattaneomusic Merci Alex ça manque toujours dans les vidéos de pedal steel

I was told that the pedal steel is one of the most difficult instruments to learn.
It's actually even harder than it looks, hahaha!

Nice brother! Where did the track come from? Sounds great.
I did it myself. Can't quite pull off the Knopfler feel though!
Hey it sounds good to me man.
And font feep bad, only Knopfler can pull off that Knopfler feel. 😜
Where'd you get a double neck like that?!?! That's so cool! What's the back neck tuned too?
Hey! Yes, I removed the pad and installed this 6-string neck made by 2D guitars. I usually tune it to open D, depends on the repertoire. I also use the Fishman Aura Jerry Douglass for a dobro simulator. Makes for a very versatile setup.
The guy who makes them is Dennis Brown.
Whats the tuning?
Can you send me the tab of this solo? That's great... Tanks

Oh, defnitely! I guess you can't see them from this angle, but I couldn't play without them.
