Yea I have brand biasses but I also have no problem criticizing the products. At the end of the day a bike shop is only useful to a customer if they can give information and opinions about products. Other wise customers are better off just ordering online.
I own the same bike and I was wondering if it was possible to install the 3-step suspension remote. How did you do that? 🤯You only have to install the remote and cable or is there anything else you have to change in the suspension?
Excellent build I'm tryign to put together something similar...I wanted twist lock for both frnot and rear shock so in an effort to change the rear shock that came w/frame to this H140904-04 but it does not have cable attachment mech....how did you go about it?
Would highly recommend dropping chainring size and change tire choice. personally will be rocking maxxis aspen 29x2.4 and a 32t chainring. i live in the area and have been rocking that setup for three seasons flat and has been flawless. running a ibis exie usa, type t transmission, previous generation sid ult/sid lux ult. ed from doom can get you in touch with me if you have specific questions, or if you wanna drop a preride with a local week of the race.
Love the build - That color is super cool. What saddle is that? Also, apparently the Sram level ultimate stealth 4piston brakes are supposed to be 10grams lighter than the 2piston setup. Trek claims that, and was one of the reasons the new supercaliber comes with them. Have you guys weighed them? Seems like there is no real downside to getting the 4piston setup
I didn’t weigh them myself but I agree there’s zero downside. The last gen breaks we’re barely heavier for the extra positions. It’s a Bontrager Aeolus RSL 145
@@bicyclestation Ah thats the saddle! Yeah, I am a bit bummed the new world cup doesnt come with the 4piston set up, as I am close to ordering one of those.
How did you manage to install a 3pos remote? Is it the standard Sidluxe Ultimate A1 with the 3pos remote upgrade from the Sidluxe A2 (2024+)? I have the same exact frame but 2 Pos remote. Also looking for an upgrade without buying a completely new shock
I think transforms the bike into the best XC bike on the market. The open mode is really active and adding a middle compression to the bike really gives it amazing range in an XC race. You can have a really open suspension and a racing mode as well as a lockout
@@bicyclestation Nice, that's exactly what i'm hoping for. My build is going to be nearly identical, the difference beeing tires, dropper post and contact points!
Nice looking build. FYI Specialized specifically state that the Control SL should not be used with a cushcore or insert. Running that will cause problems or cracks in your rim, and you’d have no warranty as it’s invalid if you use them.
Nice build. I ride an Epic Evo Comp in XL and thinking of upgrading to a Pro in size large. I'm 6'2" and the XL feels fine but thinking a large would be more nimble. Do you think I could ride a large at 6'2"?
Way to crush that race. You crossed the line 22 seconds after me....but I did the 50. Would you have changed anything about the bike? I saw at least a handful of punctures out there. The cushcore was probably a good call.
@@bicyclestation why not L? It's not a tricky question, but I can see lots of people recommend going L with 5'10. I will appreciate your help as I am between sizes.
The reach on a large bumps up from 436 to 460 and the stack 597 to 611. I’d have to run a 50 or 60mm stem with like a crazy negative angle. I’m running the medium slammed with an 80 -12 degree stem currently. I’d have to look at your fit numbers but I’d personally never buy a large. My center of crank to saddle rail measurement is 69cm.
very excited to see all your comparison videos! Great that you actually share the weight of your builds. thanks!

Good luck! That setup is perfect.....for pushing it uphill!
It might not be optimal but I didn’t have time to change it haha.
Love hearing about marji experiences. I'm hoping we get that recap video!
So how did the race go for you? I did it SS and it took me 24:47 but I was a finisher.

I’m confused about the aspen choice. I figured you’d want something with more tread. I’m going drop the chain ring after everyone’s said something
it all comes down to handling skills. personally knowing how it rides in mqt I prefer it, but if not that I’d do a rekon race or ikon.
Aspens absolutely suffice there. Unless it's an absolute mud fest or raining super hard the day of or before, they are great.

What a frame? We could build one or do a break swap on a complete.

Buen vídeo. pero ¿Cual es el peso excato? en el video no queda claro. Esta seria mi bici ideal😍
I'll say hi when you pass me on the "50"😂
Will do!
Really nice bike! I'm building up almost the same bike.
Do you know which shock tune you have ?
Sram sells a epic evo tuned shock on the b2b. I don’t know what it specifically is but I know this is the intended tune.
@@bicyclestation Ok, thanks!

Thoes wheels have a no questions asked warranty. If your claim got denied its because the bike shop you took ratted you out.

110 or 120 travel shocks?
Want to build nearly same beautiful bike, is it worth to change to 3 pos. shock? 2 pos. shock should work fine as well?
On this bike specifically yes. The open setting on the evo is really active. The middle setting really turns the bike into a true XC racer
Thanks for info!Last question: is the XX SL a huge improvement to the XX1?

I don’t think I would. Doing a race report and I’ll give my full opinion there!
A beautiful bike!!! How’d ya do?? Under 12 hours?
It was pretty good. I was 13 hours but made a few wrong turns and think I did about 10 extra miles. Pretty stoked on it still
@@bicyclestation Do you feel the bc40 would have been faster?
Have you got a 168 or 174 Q Factor Quarq fitted? Thanks
The quarq no longer determines chainline. The crank spindle does. In this video is was 174 but I’ve sense switched it back to 168
@@bicyclestation that makes sense, thank you!
Can this frame be mounted with a 110mm suspension? Does it not change the geometry?
Are you referring to the front or the rear
@@bicyclestation front
I’ve never seen anyone do that. It would definitely steepen the front end up and alter the geo for sure.
How did it go?
I’d say pretty great, finished 35th overall. Am gonna put up a full recap of the event here in a week or two. Filming it tomorrow
Nice work. I finished 82nd and was pretty much drama free and able to ride all the techy stuff.
Sweet ride!! so that bike costs about $11k?
Probably
Perfect bike ❤❤❤ give away im from Dubai🎉🎉
How’d you do? Buckle?
I didn’t but it was still a good run. I ended up taking two wrong turns and finished with 117 miles haha. Did it in 13 hours are so
@@bicyclestation that’s still a stellar time. Tackling it this year on my Revel Big Iron so we’ll see how that goes 🫠
