Mad love and respect for what yall are doing for these folks. It's unbeleiveable that there is a whole community living right there! Would have never suspected this if ya never shared it because we usually just see them by themselves so you dont really think nothing of it much.

I don't think you guys should donate money to them. They will most likely use that cash for drugs. I will rather buy them clothes, shoes, food and personal essentials.
We don’t. We just bring them food & supplies. Sometimes if I give them money it’s no more then $5
So many people keep saying the money will be used for drugs...but we just don't ever know. I mean does EVERY one of them do drugs? We don't know that.
I agreed. There are a lot of places to go get clothes with spending money. There's also free food and water. I would help them with that than give them money. Now maybe I will give them some money when I know I have enough to help. But not like a fortune. And yes I can maybe cook for them sometimes. I always love the number 3. I will help 3 people out if they need it. Yes even if need to get their license. You need a license to get a job, and I will help them out. But after that ita on them. I'm a lover, as Ling as I know I did something good.

Yeah I have childhood friends that live here at tent city too. A lot of them not ready for treatment. They don’t have anything so sometimes a conversation goes a long way. Hope one day they all can get clean and change their lives.

Is there any way we can have Hmong oriental stores (such as hmong town or hmong village) implement a system to divert food waste and transform it into nutritious meals for the homeless?
This would be against City ordinances and laws governing stores and restaurants. Why do you think grocery stores and all the countless restaurants have to dump and trash their food items which technically are all still good for consumption.
Plus you are basically asking the impossible. Hmong people can never or have ever genuinely helped their own kind. Sad but true as evidenced throughout history and present day America.

A lot of these people burned alot of bridges. Not saying all of them but most. It's not in our culture to do our own flesh and blood like this. But some people need to help themselves.

His real name is Xia doua yang. My mom's brother... I can't believe he gave you guys a false name... hes live in mn his whole life.. married and had 5 sons, 2 daughters... He chose to become homeless due to drug addiction and hearing voices. He went homeless and never heard voices since. That's what my mom told me... It now makes me wonder all these hmong homeless people are giving you guys false names....

I have mixed feelings. The Hmong community is usually very tight on helping out each other. But when I see Hmong folks that are homeless I wonder what made them homeless. I have a childhood friend who is hardcore drug user. He is a prime example of don’t do drugs kids. Can’t help him out, if he doing drugs or stealing from me. That has not even factored in all danger he puts my own family in by his lifestyle.
Drugs, lazy, and disowned by family. Hmong parents always tells kids that family is very important. Treat your family well then they will love and support you back. All of these people have one time mistreated their families to the point where no one’s willing to help and support them.
Hmong families are tight, for most part, by the time of a Hmong person is out there homeless they had already exhausted families, friends and loved ones..they had lost all trusts from every one
All these homeless people are drug addicts. It's always excuses.

I feel for these people but a person once told me, if you gonna love them, love the ones besides you first. Your families or your parents. I see a lot of panhandlers and I don't give them no more because I save it and give it to my parents now. It's sad to see such conditions, especially within our Hmong community however change must be made or come from the homeless themselves. They have to love themselves enough to change. Helping them with supplies and food a great gesture, however it leaves them to rely on community help, making them thinks its okay and no its not okay. One cannot subtain life by expecting continuous help from others. You must help yourself and love yourself first. No excuses. That being said i shall drop off some pizzas when time permits.
