Hey, kids! I just wanted to remind you guys. This is all about having fun. My idea of having fun does not include killing myself or someone or something. It isn't killing my car or anything like that. My idea of fun is doing something I can do again and again and for years to come, and that means "SELF CONTROL." This is all very much under control, pre-arranged, and within reaction speed. Please!!! Never drive faster than your ability to see, recognize, and respond. Trust me! You'll want to be around to do this stuff when you're my age. :) Most important, NEVER EVER street race!!! Have fun but keep it safe. Live LONG! and prosper. :)
Hahaha! Sorry! :D It just doesn't seem like sports car driving with the top up. ;) Well, and around here, half the scenery is above the windshield anyhow. Thanks for watching, iManual 6 speed!
Beautiful place, beautiful views, beautiful road and the perfect car to enjoy it. Love your videos, keep up the good work. Consistency is the key to success. We don't have the winding roads like you do in dubai, however the roads here are really nice too.
Thank you so much, 1982 Kris’s! And thank you for the input! I am learning more about how I can edit. Being open course and having limited time, the drive itself is not easy to arrange. Wouldn’t it be great to have these roads closed course and just run them all out? :O “Just a moment, please. I’m picturing it!” :D I imagine the roads there are really made and kept nice! Thanks for watching! And thanks for subscribing! Feel free to browse through my video library.
This is my dream car since i was a kid , in less than 2 months from today I'll be finishing My college degree and get a good job,the second i do that I'm getting this car
Hi, Krauser! Just tell them Uncle Dan sent you! ;) They'll say, "Who?!" :D 2 months left of college! That's exciting! I sure love my car! Good luck to your future and thank you for watching as well as posting a comment! Love these stories.
Hey, Mister Miyada! Good to hear from you again. Thanks! That means a lot coming from a guy who makes such clean videos himself. Really! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And thank you for watching!
Thanks for watching, flared! I haven’t checked prices for a couple of years but they were less expensive than most the cars on the road. Excellent fuel mileage! For a single person or as a second car for a couple, they’re really very practical!
Hey, Navy Vet. There are more videos on my channel, (if you haven't seen them yet). Haven't been out in a while. Weather is looking promising for the weekend, though. :) Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Thanks for the videos. I have a 2016 Miata Club, It only has 155 hp, I wonder if an extra 26 hp make a big difference. By the way, how is the camera mounted in the car?
You're welcome. Thanks for watching! I really have no comparative experience on that subject. The altitude completely changes the performance of all air breathing machines and I've never had mine below 5,000 ft elevation. So, what you see here might be a very different drive at 2,000 ft. But I have watched videos of the smaller ND engines at Nürburgring and they certainly seem to have less power especially if and when they go for 5th gear. And, as you can see, I'm not revving mine close to redline. I have a standard GoPro mounting between the seats, one just above the rear license tag, and one on the nose. I still haven't managed a windless sound on the nose yet. I need to experiment more. Feel free to browse through my videos. "Zoom! Zoom!"
I drive 2016ND1. Unless you have really at the redline, extra power it not much noticeable. That said you can do a fab9 tune so you can run E85. That makes car come alive!
Thanks, Devindoyle! I'm running Konig, 15 lbs. and Continental Extreme Contact all season, 22 lbs. OEM size on both. I have to run all seasons year round up here. Hard to get lighter than the OEM rims, but the 2.something lbs. lighter rims are just noticeable. Thanks for watching!
Hi, Kevshaw. You know, that's funny because I'm quite loud in this video, "on my phone." That's where I do editing and my first viewings. On my PC, the volume of my voice seems about right. BUT, on our TV my voice is hard to hear. You aren't the only person to make this complaint and so I made a point to be louder in this one. I don't think the exhaust tone is going to allow for good universal mixing. but I am going to change my format to address this issue. These began as just Jeeping trips shared with friends and family, (on my channel Dan Lankford), but seem to have become more related to an actual show. And so I'm stepping it up a bit. Thanks for your comment and input! Quite constructive. ;) Hope we see you around. :) Thanks for watching.
Hi, Zachary. The car had 6,000 miles on it when I adopted, so I have no idea where the mods end, the engine itself being one. The exhaust is a nice, smooth and not so loud for "muffler delete." I've never had the car below 5,000 feet altitude and so I have no idea how to compare to "average" or "normal." Altitude usually sucks the power right out of everything and most cars at my altitude are a crushing disappointment. And so, I'm afraid I really can't be any help at all in any demonstration of what the car would be like if you drove one in your area. Thanks for watching, commenting, and feel free to browse my video library.
I'm going to buy one probably within the next year. So I've been just watching so many videos on TH-cam like yours point of view drives. Hoping to get a ND2 Club model with supe low miles (under 25K if possible) if the price is right. Been looking for a couple years in hopes prices drop. 6000 miles on the OD sounds a great buy! I'm in California but I like to take drives up to the 3 to 4000 ft elv too. Yes the higher elvations take the power away pretty fast. I drove my NA and NB up to 6000ft on many occasions and you can feel the struggle climbing up hills - but its still a lot of fun coming back down.@@SportingDrivesinColorado
Really? All I've heard (from any MX-5 driver) on FB was that Miatas lean and roll in the curves. Videos of Nürburgring show them leaning as well. Stinger Bug doesn't budge! I get in and out with the GoPro on and you can't even see the car juggle. I just assumed it was some custom work underneath. "She had 6,000 miles on her when I adopted." And so your question is really quite interesting! You can certainly feel the road, but in a very good way. It has to take gravel roads slowly, unless made a rattle trap though. But she handles paved roads brilliantly. Never skipped on the rough like a lot of stiff rides. Not uncomfortable at all and I can feel the level of traction! Something I haven't really felt in decades! Thanks for your comment, it was educational. And I hope you enjoyed the video and browse my library here, from different locations and seasons. Thanks for watching. :)
@@SportingDrivesinColorado Thx for the reply. I should have added stiffer ride compared to the gt. I have read that the club is sport tuned. There are many write ups online that say go for the gt because the club is a little too stiff.
@@summerlinpublic5673 The GT has some cool stuff though! And, if I spent more time "just daily driving into mundanity," a little smoother ride would be nice. But I really don't drive many miles. Probably 1/4 are spent sport driving, 1/4 spent scouting out a sporting drive, and 1/4 zipping around when no one's looking. :D And so, I find the ride amazing! No Brembo brakes? I have to say, the standard brake will seriously shut this thing down! The wear? That I don't know. And the seats and cockpit don't do a bad job holding the driver in mid curve. However, You can still spin around quick enough I'm glad I didn't get leather. I'm just playing with the thing. It really is surprisingly serious for the dollar! This road could be done much faster, "If closed course and wildlife safe." I might add, this road is rather rough. Thanks for the information.

How is the ride in the club trim? I have heard they are a little stiff?

Geez! 7 months ago! Sorry Austin! The muffler was replaced with a splitter and twin 2.5 inch pipes just out the tail. Thank you for watching!
