I have only ever finished _one_ game of Dokapon, and it required a full armistice against PvP and multiple days to do. The main story experience is genuinely a lot of fun, and I'm a little sad to see they didn't play it. No game has caused so much devastation to myself and my friends as this has
OK, so here's a fun fact that not everyone knows about this game: certain special enemies that appear during events rather than in set locations actually _scale_ with the stats of the players, becoming stronger the longer the game goes on. For example, if I recall correctly, Rico Jr.'s stats are actually the _average_ of all the player's stats whenever he shows up. This also means that people gaining like 7+ levels from a single lucky win have made Rico Jr. significantly harder to beat for all the other players. Honestly, having watched more than one full playthrough of the story now, I've realized that this game has tons of weird intricacies that you don't immediately notice, and haven't been too well-documented either. One of those intriciacies we saw here is the placement of the Casino, which is conveniently _4 spaces away_ from a shop that sells 4 Crystals, letting you gamble every 2 turns, guaranteed. In fact, almost _every_ relevant space in there is separated by intervals of 4 spaces, so buying a bunch of crystals genuinely makes it much faster to get what you want from Casino Cave.

Honestly, I do think it's weird how Battle Royale opens the whole map, but lets you wander into a near-endgame area that's right next to the start, without scaling anything for players' current levels. People would naturally expect that areas closer to the castle would have lower levels, but then whoops you're dealing with 40+ right next door to the start!
For those that do not know- the game's map is basded off of a real world map. You start off in the japan/china area. I've been doing story mode with a friend, and I swear every time she beats a Big Monster, the King just throws her money into the garbage we still have not finished the game and we started it around 7 months ago because it still makes her rage so much (it's on chapter 5)
It might be a bit of an undertaking, but I for one would love to see a long term story mode playthrough from you guys. It's pretty much the intended way to play, it's not single player only like it sounds.
Dokapon Kingdom is my favorite party game of all time. I'd love to see you guys play the story mode as it does a really good job of preventing you from fighting enemies that are too much stronger and the story is pretty funny (although this is a lot to ask considering the story mode takes an insanely long time to play through).
I remember this game, it instills hatred in people's heart by the end of playing this game. It is also a really long game to play with friends spanning sessions to my knowledge.
"That might have cost me the game" These guys have no idea how long this game is lmao. I watched some guys play this game for hundreds of episodes lmao.
I'm so happy Dokapon Kingdom is back in the limelight with it's rerelease on the Switch. So many more opportunities for the game to ruin friendships now!
I've started a story mode playthrough (currently at the chapter 4 mission) and I have never loved and hated a game more at the same time Thankfully i'm playing alone so i don't need to worry about someone picking me instead of the boss that we've been trying to be FOR HOURS so no one will be RUINING EVERYTHING for me

I just hope everyone knew going in that this game is a hazard to healthy friendships lol. I almost had an actual serious falling out with my sister over it and I love her more than anyone.
Now I get why my brother was raving about the Wii game 3 years ago, this is definitely a game you need to play with other people and he wanted to ruin me. Ok, how do I get 2 copies of this game and a 2nd switch on the cheap?

RT, this remake being on your channel is the biggest win I have been informed of. This is the first time in a long while that I'm preordering a game, and I appreciate everything you do
Fun fact, getting that counter on the Cyclopes was actually a terrible mistake. Level up stats are based on your current class + classes you have mastered. Huge burst of levels are terrible till you have mastered many classes. This is exploitable of course for crazy power but also punishes you massively if you over level. This game is deceptive in how you should play it.
I remember playing Dokapon: Monster Hunter for the GBA as a kid and I got so mad at the RNG that I was having that one day I literally threw out the cartridge into a cliff and never played it again. This video reminded me of that.
My brain broke when I saw this video cause I've had a copy of Dokapon Kingdom sitting on my desk forever, waiting for me to set up my Wii so I can re-experience those childhood memories! I had to do such a double take
I still have a game from like 4 years ago saved on my Wii, was between me, my brother, and my sister. we only beat it once, agreeing to never again play this cursed game.
I played Dokapon with my brother and his friend, story mode. Took us a while since we only had a few hours here and there. I had the worst luck in the mid to late game. . .literally had gear being lost/stolen/thrown away. . .next to no money was behind in level because of dying sooo many times. . . We had one or two random events that literally caused me to win the game.
PSA for RT or anyone else playing this game. Speed is the godstat of the game. Not only does it determine who is more likely to go first, but it also counts as your dodge AND accuracy stat. So it's really important to level it up. Also I may be wrong on this one, but I believe your speed even determines the damage when you pick the strike command
I think they did normal mode and not story mode so they started at level 10 rather than level 1, also being a warrior does give him more attack than the other two.
I notice that whenever the 4 of you play in a free for all type game like mario party or this game, you get teamed up on by the rest, i think to make things fair, you need to add kevin to make it fair ( ik he's a gamble but it would be worth it )
What happens is he gets a bit of luck at the start, and everyone in the game targets him forever to make sure he can't win. I saw the same happen to ChilledChais all the time

EDIT: The Groat reward (in total) was 54,486. The amount stolen was 54,935. So The Player basically got back what was rightfully theirs, plus a little "humbling fee"
Also, I'm being vague to avoid spoiling too much for anyone seeing this before watching.
I'm so glad this game got ported, I can't wait to ruin decade long friendships once again, now with online connectivity!!
46:39 yo that was me who said that in chat! glad to see i made it into the video 👍
I cannot look the same again at this game ever since the year long LP of The Runawayguys.
Makes me wonder how well RT would fair against Jon and Chuggas absurd luck LOL
This makes me yearn for a cross over between TRG and RT someday though I know it will never happen.
I hope you guys do a full play-through, though it will likely take a least a year. This game is wild, and I want you to experience it.
Aw man, no Darkling in this match. At least Webber stepped in to signal that things were about to get cruel.
Also, I'm surprised to see Wallace and Rico Jr. out and about! This open map game type compresses the insanity of story mode quite well.
50:41 I can't believe I've lived the kind of life where this is my *_second time_* seeing someone's Big Bug eat their Nitroglycerin.
I haven't seen this game since Game Grumps played it, it's nice to see it again.
That series was one of the rare times we saw Danny getting angry instead of Arin.
If you'd like to see a really good playhthrough, Woolie Vs has one.
TheRunawayGuys made a good, mostly chill playthrough of it, but if you want REAL gold, you watch Woolie Vs.' LPs of it and its prequel(?). They are beautiful and terrible indeed.
@@RougeMephilesClone I also learned about Fortune Street because of them! I actually think RT and the others would enjoy it, mostly RT though, for obvious reasons.
THATS WHO I’VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT!!! This entire time I remember that someone got a massive amount of money from one town and I didn’t remember to played it
If The Runaway Guys’ collab that lasted for LITERAL YEARS was any indication, this is gonna be fun.
FINALLY DOKAPON KINGDOM IS GETTING THE ATTENTION IT DESERVES
I love how Dokapon Kingdom is designed to destroy relationships to the point where it will literally take things away from other players and go “oh WHOOPSIES, I took money from the wrong player, but I’m sure they don’t mind right?”
OMG, I remember playing this with my family! My Dad always won by camping the casino lol
I remember this game, it instills hatred in people's heart by the end of playing this game. It is also a really long game to play with friends spanning sessions to my knowledge.
"That might have cost me the game"
These guys have no idea how long this game is lmao. I watched some guys play this game for hundreds of episodes lmao.
I'm so happy Dokapon Kingdom is back in the limelight with it's rerelease on the Switch. So many more opportunities for the game to ruin friendships now!
It's really cool that RT does like RPGS, you don't really see big youtubers playing em or talking about em.
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that if you water water water grows
I've started a story mode playthrough (currently at the chapter 4 mission) and I have never loved and hated a game more at the same time
Thankfully i'm playing alone so i don't need to worry about someone picking me instead of the boss that we've been trying to be FOR HOURS so no one will be RUINING EVERYTHING for me
This game has lived in my head for years can’t believe you actually played this
The Runaway Guys: lizardman... a combination of a lizard and a man
RTGame's croud: hes so square i love him
The day they stop countering turn 1 is the day they'll be alive for more than 3 seconds
summary of dokapon- monopoly, but you can beat up and rob eachother, punch a buy out and buy that store on park street first, and the play in last can make a deal with satan to just kick over teh board and set it all back to zero.
Oh god no. My eldest brother played this with his now wife, honestly strengthened their relationship.
Literally they did sessions that lasted days due to game nights
This is the opposite effect dokapon has on people
@@lordderpingtonII Oh totally, we did lose a few family friends over it.
Typical Dan move: Proceeds to be at the end game stuff in the first few minutes.
RT: uploads this video
Me: I use counter
I just hope everyone knew going in that this game is a hazard to healthy friendships lol. I almost had an actual serious falling out with my sister over it and I love her more than anyone.
Now I get why my brother was raving about the Wii game 3 years ago, this is definitely a game you need to play with other people and he wanted to ruin me.
Ok, how do I get 2 copies of this game and a 2nd switch on the cheap?
"You're gonna take on Daniel 'Rumble Tumble' Game, you'd better goddamn KNOW. This sorta thing used to be civilized, you'd hit a guy, he'd whack you, done. But with Daniel... at the end of this, he'd BETTER not know you're involved, not know your names or think you're dead because he'll kill ya, and then he'll go to work on ya."
I loved watching the runaway guys play this and now rtgame is playing it, huge surprise
Stealing someone's quest item and selling it to mess up their karma and then framing them for armed robbery, ah yes good old Dokapon.
RT, this remake being on your channel is the biggest win I have been informed of. This is the first time in a long while that I'm preordering a game, and I appreciate everything you do
What's funny is if he succeeded in robbing the weapon shop at the start, he would have been a bigger menace throughout.
Dear god it’s been a long while since I’ve seen this game. Hitting me with with memories and nostalgia once more I see
13:25 everyone's reactions to Kelly's massive W are SO good
Fun fact, getting that counter on the Cyclopes was actually a terrible mistake.
I had to do such a double take
Rico jr.'s physical attack has a chance to inflict instant death which is what happened here
"Town Warp! Going on an adventure!" *Immediately fleeing from dragon*
I have never experienced more rage than when I played this game with my friends
I still have a game from like 4 years ago saved on my Wii, was between me, my brother, and my sister. we only beat it once, agreeing to never again play this cursed game.
31:05 it worked because counter does 3 times what strike would have done to you.
Remember Daniel, if you bury them in Limerick they will never be found.
THEY EXPLOITED MY MAN'S WEAKNESS TO GAMBLING
PSA for RT or anyone else playing this game. Speed is the godstat of the game. Not only does it determine who is more likely to go first, but it also counts as your dodge AND accuracy stat. So it's really important to level it up. Also I may be wrong on this one, but I believe your speed even determines the damage when you pick the strike command
I do believe it factors into damage calculation for strikes, but so does _every other stat,_ so it doesn't really matter in that regard.
it determines whos more likely to go first??? really??
I'm already shocked like a minute in how much damage RT does with a jab
I think they did normal mode and not story mode so they started at level 10 rather than level 1, also being a warrior does give him more attack than the other two.
Oh, rare chance of this being seen, but Fortune Street on the Wii!! I really think everyone would love playing that. Like monopoly but more fun.
I saw the same happen to ChilledChais all the time
im sad none of them got darkling contract, woulda loved to see their reaction
Love how risqué charges you $1000 to steal 55 times that
I mean dude just rob a bank for yourself
This has got to be one of my favorite RT videos, it's just so fun and chaotic
RIP all the Groat citizens that died during the monster attack on their city 😔
This game can destroy friendships with people you’ve never met
We all lost a friend or a family member after playing this game. Well, I didn't lost either of those except my ps1 got rip in half.
Best way to play this game is announce what you are going to do
Following Kellys shonen story was amazing
RT. I would give almost anything to watch you play a full 4 player story mode of Dokapon Kingdom.
I know it’s a huge time commitment. I know it’s brutal. But I beg it of you. Hell, Id gladly endure it with you
