Unfortunately, we already know from Mockingjay that Haymitch had a (unnamed) girlfriend, and she (along with his family) was killed two weeks after he won his games. (quote from Mockingjay, just after Finnick is doing his propo where he reveals how he was treated as a victor, and how Snow uses poison): *"Is that what happened to you?" I ask Haymitch.* *"No. My mother and younger brother. My girl. They were all dead two weeks after I was crowned victor. Because of that stunt I pulled with the force field," he answers. "Snow had no one to use against me."* *"I'm surprised he didn't just kill you," I say.* So its unlikely there's a romantic connection if its Madge's mother... but if Suzanne Collins wanted to really screw with us, it could absolutely be from that girlfriend's perspective...and end when she gets killed. ALSO. Wild theory. But it could be from Katniss' mother's perspective. She was friends with Maysilee after all...
And if its from Katniss' mothers perspective, we could get an insight into her thoughts on the hunger games in general, and what future-her might have been thinking when her daughters were chosen/volunteered. Maybe she had a pro-Capitol / Hunger Games phase, but watching her friend die in the games changed her...
@@AudrinaRenda-uu2ks it's still third person limited though - we only get Snow's POV even though it's third not first. I don't think Suzanne Collins will go for multi-POV personally.
Not necessarily about the upcoming book (because I don’t think it will apply) but just in general I like the concept of having one be about a tribute who is not a winner in the end and ends up dying. You know, just one of many who was not “fortunate” enough to fight their way out
I actually think it might be about one of the careers, maybe the career girl he goes up against at the end. It would go with the theme of media propaganda, and it can show the way the careers are brainwashed. The entire game, she could be playing "real or not real" trying to figure out whether or not the capital actually cares about them.
I would love to see a career-centered novel, and it seems that it would fit in with the themes of propaganda Collins has teased. We know a lot about District 12 and Haymitch (though I love him), so it would be great to see a different perspective. What better than a young-Finnick type who has been taught that the Games is the greatest honor, only to lose to Haymitch?
I know it not Suzanne collins’s writing style so it most likely won’t happen but this made me think a book with multiple perspectives could be cool. Like you’re with multiple tributes in different chapters and they slowly fall off until it’s just the victor
I 100% believe Katniss’ dad is the son of Maude Ivory. He’s the one who taught her the songs such as the hanging tree and deep in the meadow etc. The Baker explains that he had such a beautiful voice the birds would stop to listen. He knew about the cabin and the lake the Covey frequented. Katniss said that she remembers anything put to music even if she only hears it once and Lucy Grey tells us that Maude Ivory has this same ability. I think it would be amazing to have this story be from Haymitch’s gf pov and then switch to Haymitch after they all get killed by Snow.
And Maude Ivory is the only one who could have passed The Hanging Tree on. It was only performed once, the Peacekeepers and the Coveys were the only ones to ever hear it.
I’m almost 100% sure Plutarch Heavensbee would be our main character. The book starts out with him being infatuated by the games, wanting nothing more then to be a head gamemaker one day, he’s been brainwashed by all the propaganda. I’m my theory it’s snow’s last year as head gamemaker before his presidency. Maybe there are whispers of retirement for the current president, and snow HAS to prove himself, which is why the arena has that signature snow flair with everything being poisoneous, he literally puts his stamp on the games. Snow knows how much Plutarch wants to fill his shoes one day and grants him mentorship of district 12, since they don’t have a (living) victor. This because he knows Plutarch is the most trustworthy, he wouldn’t dare to take a misstep because he wants to become Snow one day, and because again, he wants to show where he came from and put that Snow stamp on the games. But something changes, Plutarch meets Haymitch, Maysilee and the other tributes and starts to slowly know them and see them for what they are, children who are being used for entertainment of the rich. When haymitch wins by using the force field, the first thing snow does when he becomes president shortly after is making the fool out of the person who made him look like the fool. With his powers, he kills haymitch’s loved ones, to show snow always lands on top. This is when Plutarch sees snow for what he really is, a monster. This is when Plutarch meets other capitol people who aren’t in favor of the games, like Cinna. And he forms an undercover group of rebels who all climb their way up the top, Plutarch becoming a gamemaker, cinna becoming a stylist,… We’ll see the first communications being made with district 13, maybe we’ll even find out that Lucy Gray is there alive and well, and she dies before the events of mocking jay. So we’ll follow Plutarch throughout his journey of starting the revolution. Maybe the book ends with the very meta way of Plutarch watching prim get reaped and seeing katniss volunteer, ha.
Omg this is exactly what I thought but didn't not know how to put it together like you did!!! Just one tiny details: maybe the stylist he talked to is not Cinna but Tigris. Cinna supposed to be quite young from katniss description in book 1 and the 74th was his first game. But if it's Tigris we can see her transformation from Snow's cousin who took care of him to someone who wants him dead
This would make a lot of sense and would also really work hand in hand with Ballad as it would create an antithesis between Plutarch and Snow. Highlighting the fact that they both had choices and the difference between their trajectories and the causes for it. If she’s not planning on writing more for the universe after this, it would make sense that she would try to link Ballad and Sunrise together so that they could kind of work as a duology about power and free will.
omg your last sentence made me think, what if they revealed that the reapings ARE rigged, as a lot of people theorize (not to pick specific people like prim to punish katniss, but simply rigged as in pools of specific demographics like 12 year olds. or in haymitch’s case, a boy from the seam and a merchant girl, which could be used to cause even more class conflict within district 12. although we don’t know who the other two tributes were at least from my memory). revealing that would tie so well back into plutarch’s realization that the fundamental aspect on which the game is formed, that the odds are in your favor, is even a deception. It would really drive home the fact that snow leaves nothing up to chance and manipulates everything he can to land on top. I personally would love to see this reveal especially with all the discourse around that theory. what do you think? AMAZING theory by the way, I will be counting on this 🤞
i would love a dual perspective! like one person outside of the games and one person inside the games, then we could see the contrast between the capitols narrative and the actual events of the game that year
I like the idea, but I'm pretty sure in Mockingjay implied that Hamich did have a gf and Snow killed her because he "cheated" in the Games. What I would like was a perspective of a Careeer or someone from a Capitol. Maybe Plutach Havesebee. In Balad, we find out his family is an old Capitol family. I would like to see more about that transformation.
@@your-worst-nightmare_ That's what I am thinking cause in the books that Madge's mother is still alive while Haymitch's gf and immediate family are died long before Katniss went to the games.
Wait, I love this!! My theory is that we'll see Tigress as a stylist (possibly for Haymitch) and the further dissolving of her and Snow's relationship, her realizing the world she lives in with Haymitch's stubborn and hard headed self. But I love this theory so much too, Effie isn't one of my favorite characters morally but I'd be lying if I said I didn't love reading about her. She's basically like a child, a bright little ray of sunshine who doesn't truly see the world for what it is and when she does she DOES start trying to be better, to do better, she just didn't have the knowledge or tools for so long. I still wish she'd seen through it before the whole district 13 thing but that's what could make this idea really compelling to read!!!
Yes! This would be very interesting and it actually makes perfect sense since Collins literally said that she would write about “the easiness with which the many are governed by the few” (her words). Writing from Effie’s point of few could explore this theme in such an effective way since she is always torn between her own morals and the job she does for the Capitol. Also the title ‘Sunrise on the reaping…’ Effie is the one who literally presents the reaping and has to put on a ‘fake’ smile while sending kids off to the games. I personally love Effie due to her strong character development. Always wanted to see more of her!
@@raylynne5280 I like your theory too. I think they really made a point in the books to show that Effie really bought into what the capitol was feeding. I think morally, she really thought the hunger games was the right thing. But even Katniss had empathy for her because she knew she just didn’t know better. So, yes, like a child. But it would be interesting to see someone’s mind get changed to that…but I guess we saw some of that in songbirds and snakes.
@@marije8562 I'd prefer if the Buttercup's ancestor just tries to eat the bird, but yep, in headcanon. it will be ok if it's not in the books - the books don't include every detail of what happened. O:-)
I think this is an interesting take, but thing that I disagree with is that we HAVE already gotten the spectators’ view of Haymitch’s games, in a way. That’s the only view we’ve gotten of the games - Haymitch won’t talk about them, and the video Katniss and Peeta watch isn’t some sort of insider’s footage: it’s the broadcast. So seeing what actually happened vs what we’ve already been shown and told of these games from the outside would be new. We don’t see “basically his entire Hunger Games” - we see the Capital edit. This could make for a first foray into deuteragonist territory, with alternating narrators as we deal with “real or not real” and competing perspectives from within and outside the Games, or switching between a more in-depth version of the broadcast we’ve already gotten in CF and what Haymitch really experienced. And at some point Haymitch’s addiction will probably factor in, so we could get the way his perspective starts to warp as he tries to numb the pain and self-medicate to block out the horrors of his reality, which could also play into “real or not real.” (Also Haymitch had a girlfriend who was killed on Snow’s orders after he used the arena to win, so a romance with the surviving Donner sister wouldn’t really work with that) But there are a lot of interesting ideas here - definitely want to see more on how Tigris and Coryo’s relationship evolved.
This is a really good point!! the differences between the broadcast and the experience and if the capitol is changing/skewing things to look a different way…all great theories!! I’m so excited for the book!
I like that idea! Especially considering how the capital interpreted Katniss and Peeta’s suicide attempt! To Katniss it was about not letting the capital win by seeing them betray each other, but capital citizens viewed it as two lovers refusing to live without each other. The “real” vs the “not real.”
Love this! & the drinking could be used as a time jump as well; Maybe even between the tributes from 12 he has to mentor-just pages and pages of kids who he saw right before they went to their deaths Also imagine him coming back to 12 after winning & everyone is questioning things he "did" which he didn't do, but the captials editing says otherwise... Then him moving to Victors Village, his loved ones being killed, reading as he sinks into isolation & drinking to try and cope
With all the mentions of propaganda I'm surprised you didnt think that Plutarch would be the main character. Thats what I think, and it would make sense: he's an up-and-coming propagandist/gamemaker for the capitol but holds resentment for his government, he sees Haymitch being anti-capitol and he maybe helps him to win his games from behind the scenes (or maybe just recruits him for the rebellion after he sees how Haymitch suffers for not submitting?) Idk just a thought.
I would be so pumped if this was true! Plutarch is already such an interesting character (with everything you said and also that he knew Katniss would kill Coin, almost like he set that up too). He is so good at his job, at manipulating people (especially Snow in Catching Fire) that seeing him in action, starting to build little plans and plots for the eventual revolution as he helps Hamitch through the games (knowing he could also be such a pivotal piece in helping the rebellion and Katniss) would be so cool!
I want Plutarch to be the main character or one of the main characters so badly! I love Hamytch, but I think we already know pretty much everything about him
@@naiyanacamara2433 same! i always found plutarch such an interesting character and would have loved to get an inside look into what he is thinking and what made him the character he is. I think it’s a pretty interesting pov from someone who actually has a good life in the capitol, ( while snow was also a capitol kid, he was obviously still poor and didn’t really have the capitol kid experience) so i think it would be really interesting what exactly sparked the urge to rebel and also to get a closer look into the game makers. i also personally thought instantly about plutarch once i heard propaganda being a big part of the book, since he is so good in manipulating and pulling strings from behind
When I heard it would be about Haymitch's hunger games, I was like 'what? but we know everything that happens to him & how is family & gf get killed for his actions in the games and then assumedly, he loses himself to depression and alcohol, compounded by having to mentor new tributes every year, watching them die. Why would I want to read that?' Then I realised it hadn't actually been confirmed it was from Haymitch's POV & my brain exploded. I think we'll get confirmation that Maude Ivory is Katiniss' dad's mother. The love story will be Katniss' mother giving up her life in the good part of town to marry Katniss' dad from the poorer part, after becoming disillusioned by what she experiences and sees her friends experience during the Quarter Quell. I hope we see how far Snow & Tigris have climbed but I don't want their relationship to be the focus. I want Collins to bring out a sixth book from Tigris POV that culminates in Finnick's (who she was stylist for and came to like) winning of the Hunger Games & Tigris learning that the fourteen yr old boy is being sold to the highest bidder. It's hinted in Songbirds and Snakes that she has experience selling herself to keep food on the table for Corio & Gran-mama during those dark days. I think that was the final straw for her and when the cousins relationship ended.
I dont remember the books perfectly but where did you all read about Haymitch past? I should read that again!!! Got back into the Hunger Games obsession after 10 years ahahha
@@MariaLucreziaDeSantis katniss and peta watch haymitch's games during catching fire when they are preparing to go up against the other victors. Plus there is that fan made film on TH-cam that depicted some of it
I saw the title and was immediately ready to be dismissive but dude…I’m really into this idea lol. Like I loooove the idea that this could give insight to the floating theory that Madge giving Katniss the pin is purposeful rebellion-but what if it’s her mom that tells her to give the pin to Katniss? And she’s also the one that gives her painkillers to Katniss’s mom for Gale after he’s whipped…
Right??? There’s little easter eggs that make it seem probable!!! At first I was like eh will be a fun out there idea and I ended up convincing myself lmao
I think we will get duo POV. One of a Haymitch (not Real) & one of someone else (who thinks propaganda is Real) and then in the Climax their perspective clash.
I like this. Haymitch POV during the games as a tribute and Effie POV as a go-getter in the captial trying to get ahead, leading to a clash when they have to be civil as leaders for District 12. Plus, i wonder how Effie got stuck with District 12.
when i saw the title, i actually first thought it could be from the perspective of that girl tribute from 12 who went in with haymitch, and had an alliance going with him. i think it would be quite interesting to get the perspective of a losing tribute, especially since we know she’s one of the last ones to die before haymitch wins the games. that said, i also love the idea of katniss’ mother being the mc, or a young effie as a capitol girl and avid fan of the games, or even young plutarch heavensbee and how he, a member of an old capitol family, eventually became anti capitol to the point of aiding the revolution
I was thinking the same thing. first of all i need to see another quarter quell game in depth as catching fire is by far my favorite movie and I think it could be really great to watch bc they always make those games extra special. i´d love if we saw the perspective of one of the two girls that gets reaped together with haymitch (but ends up dying so we see it from the eyes of someone that doesn´t survive), imagine if two sisters get reaped, the older one engaged to the second male tribute. together with the two guys she makes a pact to protect her younger sister. somehow she ends up dying early in the game, which devastates her sister because now she has to take her place and gets promised to the guy, who treats her like he owns her now. haymitch however sees the possibility to to sell them as lovers in order to get more sponsors and help protect the younger sister. (this could be the reason why he later tries this tactic with peeta and katniss as he knows it'll work). in one of the fights both of the guys end up badly injured as they risked their lifes to keep her safe. with the help of a sponsor she gets a life saving supply, but haymitch realizes its only enough to save one of them, telling her to save her now fiancé. however he confesses to her, that he always secretly loved her and went as far as being the reason why her sister died so early. he apologizes to her, refusing the life saving supply and dies. now she hurries back, saving haymitch and begs him to "stay alive". through that their bond deepens and now haymitch is committed to get her out of this alive. in the end however she gets killed by one of the last tributes, dying in his arms with nothing he can do about it (hence later he tells katniss and peeta to: "embrace the probability of your imminent death, and know that there's nothing i can do to save you.". this devastates him and is the catalyst of his rebellion against the capitol; he ends up using the force field to kill the remaining tributes and winning the hunger games.
I’m definitely hype for this book, because after songbirds and snakes, I’m SO fascinated by the world building and how the games themselves developed. I would also be kind of interested in seeing the games from the perspective of a spectator in the capitol. Explore the psychology of those who have been manipulated into enjoying the spectacle and sport of the games, and those who genuinely believe that the luxuries they offer the tributes are luck and kindness. That the winners are lucky. You talk a lot about different perspectives to view the games through, and how we’ve watched a player and a mentor. Suzanne Collins says it’s about propaganda and control. I could very well see this book exploring how capitol citizens are brainwashed to such a degree.
My crazy prediction (just to throw out there): 5th book will be narrated by Plutarch Heavensbee and we will get to hear his thoughts as he watches the games and goes from being a loyal capitol citizen to a secret rebel/double agent by realizing the how manipulative the capitol's propaganda is. Would be cool because we know that one day he will use this very thing against them I haven't read the books in years but I can't wait for this new one. And really excited by what Suzanne Collins said about her inspiration because I agree that misinformation and alternative "facts" are one of the most dystopian and frightening aspects of our world today
This is exactly what i’m hoping for. I feel like plutarch’s plot in the original trilogy is so interesting; what does he represent to Collins? Maybe people have thoughts on this. I find it so interesting that there’s this agreement between everyone that he is the only real victor of the games, the only true winner. How did he get to be that? Maybe it’s a generational thing, or something he grew up with, as there’s a heavensbee in the academy with Snow? Idk, i find him so interesting.
@@okha8452 yes, I'm fascinated by him because from what we know, he seems to be someone who grew up in privilege/wealth but somehow came to support the cause of those separate from and less fortunate than him. I would love to see how that happens. Even if the book is from Haymitch's POV, I hope to see Plutarch make an appearance
All of that plus maybe he ropes Haymitch in which would give us insight on Haymitch’s life after the games and give us a bit on how the rebellion got started. Honestly I think it would make a lot of sense for Plutarch to be the one who planted the rebellion seeds long before Katniss comes along.
Tigris and Maggs both play a major role in this book. Tigris will be Haymitch’s stylist, and the things she does to encourage Haymitch is the final nail in her relationship with Snow. I feel that it’s not an accident that Haymitch speaks so kindly of Maggs in Catching Fire. She made a profound impact on him, perhaps as a surrogate mentor because 12 doesn’t technically have an available winner? There will be many Easter eggs as it pertains to Katniss’ mom and dad. Plutarch is most likely a young game maker, and the events in this book set him on a path of defiance. When he tells Katniss that she inspired him to come back, it indicates he had been in that position before.
That was my thought too - from Tigris or Plutarch’s perspective and their transition to being rebellious toward the capital - starting with events during the 50th HG. With Collins’s statement on true vs non-true, it seems someone in the capital will start seeing the truth behind the capital’s propaganda. I would lean more toward Plutarch, just because Tigris is already sympathetic to the districts in Songbirds and Snakes.
I came to the comments just to see if anyone else thought of this. Tigris is absolutely a possibility as she was really hurt by Snow and what happened during the 10th games. I also am curious to know if there could be a connection to Maude and possibly her children (Katniss' father (maybe?)), that gets explored in this new book...
I just wanted to say that its so crazy how recently i had my hunger games phase back after all the years, started watching your videos and other content about it, just truly diving into the fixation and a 5th book is announced, i feel like it was really a perfect timing! when i get delusional enough ill start thinking the fandom manifested it lmao
See I’m wondering if they manifested it too bc people started rewatching my other videos just a few weeks ago and the new book got announced… you guys predicted it!!
I hate how interesting what she is saying is, and how much I agree with everything it is said, and yet every two minutes my eyes fly to the cat-clock on the wall and I think "hey, cool cat"
The crew hurries inside to edit the material, and Plutarch leads Finnick off for a chat, probably to see if he has any more stories. I'm left with Haymitch in the rubble, wondering if Finnick's fate would have one day been mine. Why not? Snow could have gotten a really good price for the girl on fire. "Is that what happened to you?" I ask Haymitch. "No. My mother and younger brother. My girl. They were all dead two weeks after Iwas crowned victor. Because of that stunt I pulled with the force field," he answers. "Snow had no one to use against me." "I'm surprised he didn't just kill you," I say. "Oh, no. I was the example. The person to hold up to the young Finnicks and Johannas and Cashmeres. Of what could happen to a victor who caused problems," says Haymitch. "But he knew he had no leverage against me." "Until Peeta and I came along," I say softly. I don't even get a shrug in return.
What if, the Capitol controlled what the people saw on screen? What if the actual events were not what was shown but changed the narrative of? Maybe Haymitch wasn’t supposed to win, maybe he made a deal with the Capitol or Snow, but ended up defying and breaking his promises and emerged a victor? That would explain why ‘his’ family and gf were targeted after. Because it wasn’t his fault the ax from the other tribute hit the force field leaving him the victor. I also feel like his younger brother is a kid, because we’ve never seen snow hurt a kid before, and this could be it, this could be us cementing our hate towards Snow. While we got info about the arena and the mutts, I think what the book might focus will be less on the games and more on the actual reality outside the games. We saw inside the games and the frustration from those in 1-3, then we saw the behind the scenes from Capitol in Ballad, what we need is a POV of someone who doesn’t have a loved one in the games but still wants to end the system. This book could be a lot and for all I know it could also end up being Collins’ Magnum Opus and might go down in history.
Ooh this is a fun point, like what actually happened in the hunger games wasn’t shown on screen, that’s a fun prediction 👀👀 I agree this could be her best book yet!!
I’ve mentioned this before in other videos, but it’s very possible that everything we know about the 50th is false. Perhaps what really happened in those games were altered and changed to manipulate the masses and maintain control of the people watching them. Makes sense especially when you consider Collin’s inspiration for writing this new book.
@@FrakkinToasterLuvva perhaps to cover up something else that happened? We saw this happen in Ballad when Dr Gaul cut the live feed long enough for Snow to break in and rescue Sejanus.
@@yitoproductions Like what? There was no rebellion at the time, and Snow did not want someone from District 12 to win, much less by outsmarting everyone.
@@FrakkinToasterLuvva Im not sure. That’ll be up to Suzanne Collins herself. This is just my theory considering she herself has stated that she was inspired to write this because of the power of propaganda and how the few can control the masses, thus making her question, was is real and what isn’t.
Maybe we get 3 books of Snow like we got 3 of Katniss. I don't necessarily want that, but i also didnt think i wanted Snow POV in Ballad, but i loved it. But my farfetched idea: A Cinna POV! Id love to see him work as a (junior) stylist, navigating capital politics, and seeing a rebellious spirit grow in him. Right out the gate in Book 1 he was pushing boundaries by only wearing gold eyeliner (vs the other citizens in avant garde) and by dressing the tributes as fire vs coal. His subtle acts are propaganda in their own ways and theres gotta be a story behind that. In all seriousness though, if its not Haymitch it's gotta be Plutarch.
Snow’s pov for this book wouldn’t work tho, it would ruin it actually. We already got a pov from him when he is Young and we understand that he was already a narci powerhungry sociopathic, we already know how he Acts and what he does and why so idt it would do that much from his pov, rather from a Capitol Citizen might be interesting
Just a thought but what if we get Tigris's pov. Although as some comments mentioned, Plutarch would be pretty interesting as well or maybe a career tribute. Like how propaganda is used in the career districts to promote the hunger games, or the way the capitol views it. Personally though I'm pretty interested in Tigris and at that point in the story I'd imagine she's a well established fashion designer and we know about her falling out with Snow so that would be cool to explore. Idk tho, just a thought like I said.
My far fetched theory is that the new book could be from the pov of a hunger games stylist or mentor. It would be interesting to see who would mentor Haymitch, considering the fact that there were no surviving victors from district 12 at that time.
Points of views I’d like to see (to echo other’s) I’d really like to see Katniss’s mother’s point of view to see who she was before the trauma she’s endured (friend passing, husband passing, etc). Tigris would be interesting due to her beginning to really see how Snow began to make the HG’s a spectacle and his overall lust for power. Haymitch’s GF would be insightful to see the behind the scenes pressures of having a loved one in the games. Perhaps she, Haymitch, Katniss’s mother, Masilee and her sister all knew one another and were friends. Maybe they were all rebellious teens 👀 I can’t remember if Madge’s family were always in the mayor roll. Perhaps their circle being reaped was to show a lesson. Topics I’d really want to see: - More of Haymitch - I know we know alot about his games but I want more of his story, especially as an unexpected victor. I can imagine not many were betting on him. - Career district training systems -Tigris’ experience as a stylist and experience of having to conform to Snow’s ways to survive - More on Katniss’ mother, Madge’s family and that dynamic - More on Haymitch’s family - Systems in place to drive the point that the games are a show and a reminder that the capital, and Snow, always lands on top
A career tribute POV would be super interesting, because they're really indoctrinated by the system. Like they have so much more chances to die than to live (even if careers win most of the time, only one of them wins), but they're willing to go in the game nevertheless...
My theory is definitely it’s gonna be through Plutarch’s POV. Because he clearly understands the use of propaganda, and I actually really want to know more about Plutarch. I want to know why he stopped being a Gamemaker.
Hanging tree was a forgotten song because not many remembered the 10th hunger games. It was passed down in her family. Someone in her family had to be covey at least
I think it’s going to be about Haymitch. It starts with his game. But like you said we already know what went down so that will be a small part but it’s more about the aftermath. Seeing Haymitch becoming disillusioned as a mentor going from year to year watching innocent children die. (There are 23 years between the 50th and 74th HG we can explore a little more love to see something about the relationship between mentors year to year). I think we will see through his perceptive how Haymitch learned to “stay alive” since as we all know the games never end even after you win. Maybe it will end with how he ended up on the side of the rebels.
When Haymitch sees Katniss and Peeta reviewing his Games, they talk about how Haymitch's trick with the force field was seen as rebellious. I feel like we might get a perspective that shows how the Capitol deals with what they see as rebellion, whether or not it was meant that way by the accused. Something about how panicky they feel, seeing all the districts' behaviors inspired by the act, compared to the limited version that each district has. Maybe something about this news between districts being restricted, and how it helps control some even while others get out of hand and require greater resources to put it down.
I agree with Madge’s mother being the narrator!! To build on that I think it will show us the origin of the Mockingjay pin, like Ballad shows the origin of the hanging tree song. Madge was the one who gave the pin to Katniss in the first place. Far fetched theory, Suzanne will make a third prequel to make them a trilogy, and show us the origin of the three finger salute, maybe with more on the story of tigress closer to the 74th. and then the prequels would have a solid purpose of showing us the building up of the revolution over time.
also, maybe instead of Madge’s mother perspective, could be Katniss’s mother’s perspective? I hope we get to see more of her, because in the hunger games we only ever see an empty shell of who she once was.
I love the theory that someone on the outside but very invested is the main character. It’s the only piece of the world we are truly missing as a reader because we don’t see the average people watching real time. I do think alternatively we could see a future gamer maker as the main character, someone like Plutarch and what gets someone to have that aspiration. He’s very ambitious but then ultimately flips sides.. or was he a mole all along? Orr it could be Tigress herself and seeing her shift overtime. Also i just rewatch your videos for fun, you’re in my long form content like Mike’s Mic and FSN. Glad to see your videos are blowing up 🙌
10:52 nah, I don't think Mages' mother and haymitch like each other because it's been stated that haymitch had a girlfriend when going into the hunger games and that she was killed after haymitch did the whole force field sh!t
I really like the idea of it being Maysilee's sister being the POV character. I think a lot of emotional moments could come of that (def not Haymitch's gf though cause she died). Another good POV would be Katniss' mother, or a young Effie as some people have said. Others have mentioned Plutarch a bunch which is an even more likely scenario, but personally my number one guess for the POV of Sunrise on the Reaping is actually Caesar Flickerman. Think about it. Who is the one who would be the character most in between everything, knowing the truth but being told to say otherwise and using his position to convince the viewers of a skewed perspective? I've never been able to pin down the true character of Caesar, whether he was for the Capitol 100% or if he hated the Hunger Games but used his position to help the tributes. I think his POV would absolutely explore the themes of propaganda and the question of real or not real.
I wonder if it might also be about a career tribute, because if it is about propaganda then maybe something that explores the propaganda and indoctrination kids like Cato and Clove go through to want to be in the hunger games and seeing it as this honorable and amazing thing
She did not become a rebel. District 13 was not a part of Panel when she grew up there, was always an enemy of the Capitol, and she fully fit into the District 13 lifestyle.
i’ve really got into your channel recently due to hunger games lol but i love your channel so much! i can’t wait to see what suzanne will do with new book
The other day I was eating up a great video of yours on Peta and Gale which reignited my interest in the series after years then BOOM this was announced. She did this for me and me only
this was such an interesting watch! i gotta say i have no clue who our pov character will be (or even if it will only be one), but regarding tigris and snow's falling out i have a pet theory that makes me think we won't quite see the aftermath of it in this book - it'll still be the buildup. one thing we know about tigris from tbosas is that she likely did some manner of s*x work to bring in money for her family. we know eventually snow starts forcing victors into a similar situation, most notably with finnick. we also know that tigris was a stylist at least long enough for katniss to recognize her from capitol tv, so she probably worked on the games until around finnick's games, when katniss would have been around 7. i think that tigris might have been a stylist in finnick's games - not sure if for him or not - but once she found out what was happening to him and other tributes with them being forced to use their bodies the way she had to all those years ago, she finally decided to break ties with snow once and for all. this is entirely conjecture on my part lol so i have no idea if this would be accurate, but regardless i would love to see more about her and snow's deteriorating relationship in sotr!!!
I think you might be right! 😢 Though I think it will go back and forth from her POV and her sister’s. A twin narrative would be unique and heartbreaking.
My first thought, I kid you not, was “what if it’s dual POV with Haymitch and Maysilee” and honestly I think everything Collins touches turns to gold so I would love to see how she writes from a dual pov. Another thing that I would be interested in is it being from multiple spectators pov. Like Katniss’s mom, Peeta’s dad, Madge’s mom, etc etc. because Collins saying it focuses a lot on propaganda doesn’t make much sense to me if it’s from the perspective of someone who is focused on surviving more than anything else. TLDR: Suzanne Collins, PLEASE write in multiple POVs
We find out that coin is really snow and Lucy grays daughter. She escaped to district 13 and that is where she raised coin to avenge her against the capital. She would do anything to take down snow. Her being snows child is why she has the megalomaniac attitude for power and hate.
If it’s from Plutarch’s POV I would hope he’s shadowing a current game maker and when haymitch wins Plutarch approaches him about starting a rebellion. The capitol finds out and tortures haymitch by killing his family which causes him to spiral into alcoholism, leaving Plutarch to keep growing the rebellion alone. I think that would give us good haymitch insight while also sticking to the idea of a few governing many and also giving some insight on how the rebellion got started. I think it would be cool to see those two work together since we know how they work together in mockingjay
Just a idea but what if it's about how Tigress turned away from Snow? Hers would be a somewhat outsider's perspective on the games, the brutality of the second quarter quell, the many deaths and how the districts are starting to think about a uprising. In time we are closer to the 75th game than the 10th, it would be the perfect setup for the story to fill out the gaps we are making fan theories about, also would be a payoff if Collins meant to be Corio's story as the first part of prequel trilogy, changing the perspective from book to book. In this case from Corio to Tigress who we know from Mockingjay that knows Haymitch. Wouldn't be surprised if she was on his beauty team also. I think this direction would make sense to take the series to a whole new lvl. Not to mention getting more background on the capitol and how things advanced after Corio took power. On that note, I would LOVE if a third book came out about Finnick. Collins herself said in a interview that her only regret about Mockingjay is killing Finnick and would do the opposite given the opportunity to do so, so it would be a nice tribute to him to get his own book. ❤
i think it may be maysilee’s pov because not only will that give us an insight into the arena itself, but also of someone like peeta that is from town and fairly middle class. this is someone that may believe in the propaganda the capitol feeds its citizens and the districts, so slowly untangling that with her may be the center of this book. either way i’m very excited!!
This is a good idea. My crazy theory is that the perspective is from a career tribute and how propaganda affects districts like 1 and 2 into submission to the capital.
I KNOW we are going to see some EFFIE. TRINKET. I don't she would be the perspective character because she's so pro capitol at the start of the original series, and her role is so minimal in the later books compared to the movies. BUT, I do think we'll see her and maybe a relative who is a mentor to her. I think having her perspective in there, which is familiar to the audience, would make a lot of sense if the book has a lot to do with propaganda. It would be a good idea to have a character that is fully bought over by the Capitol's manipulation, even when horrible things are happening to Hamich and his loved ones.
I want the perspective from another district. We all know 12 very well. Now let’s see what 13 was like going into the war between them and the capital. Or someone from district 1. I’m sure 1 and 3 weren’t all roses and sunshine. But I’ll be happy if this is about haymitch or a love interest for him. I just hope her taking all this time to write new books means she’s putting a lot of thought into connecting it to the rest of the books.
There is a third option you didn't consider. A person related to the games that isn't a gamemaker. Who gets direct contact with load of propaganda and ends up switching sides in the end. Capotol darling turned capitol pariah. Ladies, gentlemen and gentlefolk, our possible main character, Tigriss Snow herelf! She was a stylist on the games, so why couldn't she deal with deconstructing the propaganda she was fed since birth with her own morals
I think an interesting mc might be ceaser flickerman or his predecessor. His internal view must be so interesting as the person who has to talk to every tribute, to humanize them to everyone, and then narrate their brutal deaths. His role is so vital to connecting the hunger games with the rest of society. Particularly in the capitol because hes one of them. He makes choices on how to present them, how everyone should feel about it, on walking the fine line between sympathy and entertainment. What must he tell himself to justify that when he has personally interacted with every one of these kids? What is he being told behind the scenes to keep everything under control? Hes the first person that comes to mind when i think propoganda. Especially since that would allow us plenty of interaction/view of Haymitch and his games.
first of all i need to see another quarter quell game in depth as catching fire is by far my favorite movie and I think it could be really great to watch bc they always make those games extra special. i´d love if we saw the perspective of one of the two girls that gets reaped together with haymitch (but ends up dying so we see it from the eyes of someone that doesn´t survive), imagine if two sisters get reaped, the older one engaged to the second male tribute. together with the two guys she makes a pact to protect her younger sister. somehow she ends up dying early in the game, which devastates her sister because now she has to take her place and gets promised to the guy, who treats her like he owns her now. haymitch however sees the possibility to to sell them as lovers in order to get more sponsors and help protect the younger sister.
A while ago I had an idea where the book goes from perspective to perspective of each tribute e.g when the one whos perspective we see gets killed, the killer becomes the main character at the start of the next chapter. It might be better as a fan fic tho because it seems kinda wattpad-ish.
I am totally convinced this book will be from Plutarchs perspective. We will see the first meeting he has with Haymitch, and therefore starting in some small way the initial wheels turning for the rebellion.
My theory that I will protect with my life is that the perspective of the new novel will be of a career, who is spoon fed propaganda and the illusion of false hope and real vs not real with the honour of winning just for Haymitch to win in a way that breaks the rules and makes the career realise (similar to Cato) that everything was a lie.
I laughed at first when you brought up there being a dog, but now it's the only prediction I'm invested in.. I think you're right? There's a 'domesticated labor' allegory there I can smell it!!
Ive always wanted a book about Annies games (but from finnicks perspective). I just think it would be so interesting seeing him fall for her, him having to deal with not knowing whats going to happen, & what its like when she returns. Like when did she snap & when did he realize she wasn't the same?
honestly i was hoping for something like this before the new book was announced. i have always imagined myself from the perspective of someone in the districts watching this on the screen and how i might view it if i hadn't gotten so much of the behind the scenes perspective. i always wished there was some more context for that perspective. so i hope you are right. when you started hinting to who you were talking about i was like its gatta be Maysilee!!!!
So my question is who was Haymitch’s mentor? Couldn’t be Lucy Grey. At some point Haymitch joins “the revolution” referred to as “Plutarchs Underground”. Who was master of propaganda / architect of the revolution in Catching Fire and Mocking Jay? The Havensbee family name is even mentioned in A Ballad of Songbirds and snakes. What if it is both mentor and game maker perspective in a way? Or maybe just Plutarch as a young upcoming game maker? Something had to turn a person from a prominent house in the Capital to a revolutionary. If it’s not actually Haymitch’s perspective then I’m throwing my cap in for Plutarch Havensbee!
I had the thought that it was going to be madge’s mum/haymitch’s district partner or whatever that bit was. From what we got of her story out of the second book, it sounds like her perspective would not only be more fun to read but to write.
I 100% believe it will be from the perspective of Madge's mum (maysileee's sister) - a district 12 perspective of someone who isn't in the games but can see the affect on the districts. We know all of haymitch's family and his girlfriend are killed after his games so the most logical person would be her! Will also be nice to know her first name and see how she changes once her sister is killed
My first thought when the book was announced was that it would be from the perspective of a tribute who is much more influenced by the capitol’s propaganda (1 or 2), but after hearing more in detail what inspired Collins, I have a new theory. I think it’ll be from the perspective of a capitol citizen, someone who grew up during the time that Snow really grew to power and was creating the societal structure we saw in the 74th hunger games. I think this capitol citizen will end up being involved somehow in killing Haymitch’s girlfriend and family (maybe this person becomes a peacekeeper) and has to wrestle with what they’ve grown up believing and then face horrific acts they’re being commanded to do. Maybe this person will work directly under Snow? The propaganda clue really leads me to believe that someone from the capitol will be the protagonist, because capitol citizens are the most heavily propagandized population in all of Panem. We shall see though!
From what I remember, Tigris left the games 10 years prior to mockingjay, which is most likely Finnick’s games. I think the Tigris/Snow thing may be touched on, but I’m really hoping she’ll have another book about Finnick’s story from Tigris’s POV as his stylist. We could see her creating that connection with the tributes (like she did in TBOSAS by watching them and talking to Corio) and finally realize how Snow is truly the cause of the continued suffering.
i dont think it will happen but i hope she does a switching perspectives book. it would be so cool to see how the careers, other tributes, capitol citizens, district citizens, etc. feel about the games.
as much as I'd love to see katniss' mom and dad when they were young and know all about madge's mother too, I also really want to read from another district's perspective. We already know what life was like in 12, I really wanted to know more about the other districts...
This was a fun idea. I had batted around that maybe we don’t get a full Haymitch POV. I actually wondered if we would get the POV of a tribute who loses such as Maisle, and when she dies it switches to Haymitch. But I hadn’t fully flushed this idea out. Yours is probably better. 😂
I agree with everyone saying it’s gonna be about Plutarch Heavensbee. I think we could see a younger Plutarch’s turning from living for and worshiping The Capitol to disdain and maybe even disgust pushing him towards rebellion. He plays a major role in The Games with propaganda but also pretends to be submissive to his superiors in order to manipulate them into a false sense of security. No one so deep in The Capitol lifestyle could ever safely maneuver themselves to be a major player in the rebellion right?
I could see it either being Madge’s mum, Haymitch and starting from the moment he wins the games and the propaganda post the win, or maybe the girl tribute
[edit: I would actually KILL for a book from Katniss' fathers perspective!!] i think it'd be really interesting if the book jumps between perspectives of Haymitch having to compete in the quarter quell, Katniss's mom or Madge's mom living in 12 when peacekeepers were regularly whipping people, maybe plutarch as he's starting to come up in the games & connect witht he rebels, and Coin or Boggs in 13 as they continue to build up an army against the capitol. But in a connected, 'Love Actually' style of storytelling lol
I mean technically Katniss got three books, so maybe that’s what Snow will get as well. If I remember correctly isn’t he made a game maker In the quarter quill? Or maybe I’m wrong. But the idea that it’s someone who not involved with the hunger games at all is incredibly interesting. Maybe and this is completely different from what I’ve heard so far but what if it’s someone who was only mentioned in a past tense. Katniss’s mother while she has no name she is a known character met in the original series….but Katniss’s father is an unknown. He’s mentioned but no details other then he can hunt, he taught his daughter old songs, and he died in a mining accident. But two things…what if he had been more involved with everyone then Katniss ever knew? And maybe this book will be a more about the collateral damage that’s left after Heymitch wins and how district 12 will change from what we saw in Lucy Gray’s time to what it is in Katniss’s time. And it just might give a more interesting twist to Haymitch as well…what if he knew Katniss’s father really well and he distanced himself from the whole world in a last ditch effort to protect anyone else who he might have cared for. It would be interesting if Haymitch was playing the martyr after the games to make himself look like no threat to Snow
I think it would be interesting if it was about Plutarch in his early days as a game maker and maybe his shift in perspective on the games before he becomes a rebel
I personally never thought we would get a book centered around the 50th game. Only because we know exactly what happens to Haymitch in his games. What Suzanne says about "real or not real" and propaganda would've been incredibly interesting surrounding either the 25th games (where every tribute was voted on by their respective districts) or, and hear me out in this, one of the morphlings. The 25th because how can you determine who is really your friend if they chose you to go die? The morphlings on the other hand, spend their time post games drugged out of their mind which says to me that the truth was much harder to deal with than not, making someone willingly seek out a way to not be bothered by whats truly real or not real. If that makes any sense.
just something that crossed my mind- we know there's going to be a movie based off of this book. Madge doesn't make an appearance in the films and isn't mentioned at all either. If the protagonist is her mother then that may just be a tad strange for the people who only watch the films to be introduced to this relative of a character they've never heard of. Just something I was thinking about. love the video!
I hope that it’s from a random person from the capitol’s POV, if only bc Suzanne has always said she only writes when she has something to say. I think she tried to humanize the victims of war (iraq at that point, palestine w/ us) with the og trilogy, tried to give an insight into the mind if those in power with BOSAS and now it’ll be like “you are still not getting what I’m telling you, you are the capitol, you’re being manipulated and need to open your eyes”. In my mind the first books were basically “you should care, they are human and you’re benefitting from the slaughter”. The second is “No one is exempt and even if you think you can trust them they’ll always be willing to sacrifice you for their gain” and this one will hopefully be like a final wake up call that the only ones who can chose to end the cycle of oppression, imperialism and war is ourselves.
At this point it would be a plot twist if Haymitch was the main POV. Also, the announcement post said the book will open on the morining of the reaping, so there will be no content before the reaping unless in flashback form.
What if (and its a not well thought what if bc i just got this idea while watching this) its from a reporter's or stylist perspective, Idk exactly who it could be (bc if i remember correctly katniss and peeta were cinna's first tributes although i don't remember if its Portia's first games) it could be Tigris as a stylist, she could be assigned to district 12 (maybe her first games) and we would get a little more in depth details about her relationship with her cousin and how it evolved since the 10th hunger games, as a stylist we could see how clothes impact on people, Snow could start forcing her to do certain things with designs and fashion to influence people and their relationship would start to break even more (all this snow-tigris relationship as subplot not the main one) or if it's any reporters it could be someone that works with flickerman (I don't think it will be a flickerman but idk) as the book will be focused on propaganda it would be interesting to see that from a reporter or stylist perspective, two of the things that we know can manipulate/send messages to people. It could also be Plutarch perspective as I have seen the theory on another comment and it made sense how that would be.
I firmly believe it'll be about the girl that he kills in the final 2. It fits with the propaganda theme and gives us a pov we haven't before, a career
i actually like your idea more than i thought i would. another possibility could be the runner up girl from district 1. this is important since we know career districts can be the most affected by propaganda to the extent that they volunteer to the games. In my ideal world tho, this book is a multiple POV! with katnis’ mom (or madge’s aunt)/ haymitch/ career tribute/ gamemaker. a girl can dream
woah wait i haven’t put as much thought into this as you have, but i feel like it would be so cool if the games were through the eyes of young effie. this definitely won’t happen but it’d be so awesome sauce if it happened
I think that timeline would be VERY long if we met Katniss, but it could be possible. I remember in the Divergent prequel, "Four", the timeline is broken into different parts throughout Tobias' life, and ends up being a 2 year timeline throughout the book. So it is a possibility
Unfortunately, we already know from Mockingjay that Haymitch had a (unnamed) girlfriend, and she (along with his family) was killed two weeks after he won his games.
(quote from Mockingjay, just after Finnick is doing his propo where he reveals how he was treated as a victor, and how Snow uses poison):
*"Is that what happened to you?" I ask Haymitch.*
*"No. My mother and younger brother. My girl. They were all dead two weeks after I was crowned victor. Because of that stunt I pulled with the force field," he answers. "Snow had no one to use against me."*
*"I'm surprised he didn't just kill you," I say.*
So its unlikely there's a romantic connection if its Madge's mother... but if Suzanne Collins wanted to really screw with us, it could absolutely be from that girlfriend's perspective...and end when she gets killed.
Maybe we'll finally learn Katniss' parents names.
It could also be third person like the ballad of songbirds and snake
@@AudrinaRenda-uu2ks it's still third person limited though - we only get Snow's POV even though it's third not first. I don't think Suzanne Collins will go for multi-POV personally.
I think it will be about district 13
Not necessarily about the upcoming book (because I don’t think it will apply) but just in general I like the concept of having one be about a tribute who is not a winner in the end and ends up dying. You know, just one of many who was not “fortunate” enough to fight their way out
Ooh wait I could totally see this as a possibility at some point, maybe a novella?
I LOVE this, thank you for bringing this up cause now my mind is just wandering into so many new possiblities!!! I really hope this happens
@@FrakkinToasterLuvvait’s also mentioned in the book that maude ivory remembered every tune she jeard
@@kailey_marler Exactly. Suzanne pt that in for a reason. She's the only one who could have passed on The Hanging Tree.
oh i love this theory
And he forms an undercover group of rebels who all climb their way up the top, Plutarch becoming a gamemaker, cinna becoming a stylist,…
We’ll see the first communications being made with district 13, maybe we’ll even find out that Lucy Gray is there alive and well, and she dies before the events of mocking jay.
So we’ll follow Plutarch throughout his journey of starting the revolution. Maybe the book ends with the very meta way of Plutarch watching prim get reaped and seeing katniss volunteer, ha.
oh yesss!
I really hope its not about Plutarch I really do like him but I so wanna see Maysilees and Haymitches games ❤
AMAZING theory by the way, I will be counting on this 🤞
i would love a dual perspective! like one person outside of the games and one person inside the games, then we could see the contrast between the capitols narrative and the actual events of the game that year
Yesss
Maysilee and her twin
I like the idea, but I'm pretty sure in Mockingjay implied that Hamich did have a gf and Snow killed her because he "cheated" in the Games.
What I would like was a perspective of a Careeer or someone from a Capitol. Maybe Plutach Havesebee. In Balad, we find out his family is an old Capitol family. I would like to see more about that transformation.
Ooh maybe shes the girlfriend? But Plutarch would be fun too!! I would be fine with anything tbh I’m excited for the book!!
@@meredithnovaco but how would madge's mother be the girlfriend if she's still alive?
@@your-worst-nightmare_ That's what I am thinking cause in the books that Madge's mother is still alive while Haymitch's gf and immediate family are died long before Katniss went to the games.
less like died more like murdered
@@kristhekit But they are still dead either way no matter how they died
What if it’s about Effie. And her mom or relative is the current “tribute picker” and she is completely influenced by the propaganda of the capitol.
Ooh wait I didn’t think about this - a young Effie would be so fun to watch!!
LOVE THIS
my insane theory: i think some ancestor of buttercup will make an appearance and eat the bird maysilee gave to katniss’ mother
I like this. Even if this isn't what ends up happening, it is my headcanon now 😊
@@marije8562 I'd prefer if the Buttercup's ancestor just tries to eat the bird, but yep, in headcanon. it will be ok if it's not in the books - the books don't include every detail of what happened. O:-)
This is such a useless theory that I now love and will forever be my head cannon (hopefully cannon)
And at some point Haymitch’s addiction will probably factor in, so we could get the way his perspective starts to warp as he tries to numb the pain and self-medicate to block out the horrors of his reality, which could also play into “real or not real.”
(Also Haymitch had a girlfriend who was killed on Snow’s orders after he used the arena to win, so a romance with the surviving Donner sister wouldn’t really work with that)
But there are a lot of interesting ideas here - definitely want to see more on how Tigris and Coryo’s relationship evolved.
Love this! & the drinking could be used as a time jump as well; Maybe even between the tributes from 12 he has to mentor-just pages and pages of kids who he saw right before they went to their deaths
Also imagine him coming back to 12 after winning & everyone is questioning things he "did" which he didn't do, but the captials editing says otherwise...
This would be so cool!! It’s totally a possibility!! I think I just got blinded by my own theory 😅
I want Plutarch to be the main character or one of the main characters so badly! I love Hamytch, but I think we already know pretty much everything about him
YES i thought i was the only one thinking that!
@@MsJackieJack I love this theory!!
imagine if the propaganda POV was the last girl in Haymitchs hunger games who got hit by the axe
when i saw the title, i actually first thought it could be from the perspective of that girl tribute from 12 who went in with haymitch, and had an alliance going with him. i think it would be quite interesting to get the perspective of a losing tribute, especially since we know she’s one of the last ones to die before haymitch wins the games. that said, i also love the idea of katniss’ mother being the mc, or a young effie as a capitol girl and avid fan of the games, or even young plutarch heavensbee and how he, a member of an old capitol family, eventually became anti capitol to the point of aiding the revolution
I was thinking the same thing.
first of all i need to see another quarter quell game in depth as catching fire is by far my favorite movie and I think it could be really great to watch bc they always make those games extra special.
i´d love if we saw the perspective of one of the two girls that gets reaped together with haymitch (but ends up dying so we see it from the eyes of someone that doesn´t survive),
imagine if two sisters get reaped, the older one engaged to the second male tribute. together with the two guys she makes a pact to protect her younger sister. somehow she ends up dying early in the game, which devastates her sister because now she has to take her place and gets promised to the guy, who treats her like he owns her now. haymitch however sees the possibility to to sell them as lovers in order to get more sponsors and help protect the younger sister.
Would be cool because we know that one day he will use this very thing against them
I haven't read the books in years but I can't wait for this new one.
See I’m wondering if they manifested it too bc people started rewatching my other videos just a few weeks ago and the new book got announced… you guys predicted it!!
same here!!
I hate how interesting what she is saying is, and how much I agree with everything it is said, and yet every two minutes my eyes fly to the cat-clock on the wall and I think "hey, cool cat"
The crew hurries inside to edit the material, and Plutarch leads Finnick off for a chat, probably to see if he
has any more stories. I'm left with Haymitch in the rubble, wondering if Finnick's fate would have one day been
mine.
"Snow had no one to use against me."
"I'm surprised he didn't just kill you," I say.
"Oh, no. I was the example. The person to hold up to the young Finnicks and Johannas and Cashmeres. Of
what could happen to a victor who caused problems," says Haymitch. "But he knew he had no leverage against
me."
"Until Peeta and I came along," I say softly.
Ooh this is a fun point, like what actually happened in the hunger games wasn’t shown on screen, that’s a fun prediction 👀👀 I agree this could be her best book yet!!
we've seen snow hurt a whole bunch of kids. about 23 a year
I’ve mentioned this before in other videos, but it’s very possible that everything we know about the 50th is false. Perhaps what really happened in those games were altered and changed to manipulate the masses and maintain control of the people watching them. Makes sense especially when you consider Collin’s inspiration for writing this new book.
That would be wild 🤩🔥
Why would anyone from the Capitol want to change it into that?
A great thought, I love this theory!!
When the announcement came out for this book I immediately was like I CANT WAIT TO HEAR WHAT MEREDITH THINKS
THANK YOU I’m so excited for the new book!! March can’t come soon enough 😭
My far fetched theory is that the new book could be from the pov of a hunger games stylist or mentor. It would be interesting to see who would mentor Haymitch, considering the fact that there were no surviving victors from district 12 at that time.
Points of views I’d like to see (to echo other’s)
I’d really like to see Katniss’s mother’s point of view to see who she was before the trauma she’s endured (friend passing, husband passing, etc).
Topics I’d really want to see:
- More of Haymitch - I know we know alot about his games but I want more of his story, especially as an unexpected victor. I can imagine not many were betting on him.
- Career district training systems
-Tigris’ experience as a stylist and experience of having to conform to Snow’s ways to survive
- More on Katniss’ mother, Madge’s family and that dynamic
- More on Haymitch’s family
- Systems in place to drive the point that the games are a show and a reminder that the capital, and Snow, always lands on top
Glad to see your videos are blowing up 🙌
Thank you so much!! Plutarch would be soooo fun too!!
i dont know how i got here the minute it was uploaded, but exciting!
hope you like it!!
She finally stopped calling Hamich the sponsor.... This is the character growth I've come to see. Love the content! I'm here for it!
I 100% agree, I think it’ll be a career tribute too
I hope it is about Alma Coin, and how she became a rebel
She did not become a rebel. District 13 was not a part of Panel when she grew up there, was always an enemy of the Capitol, and she fully fit into the District 13 lifestyle.
i’ve really got into your channel recently due to hunger games lol but i love your channel so much! i can’t wait to see what suzanne will do with new book
Thank you!
The other day I was eating up a great video of yours on Peta and Gale which reignited my interest in the series after years then BOOM this was announced. She did this for me and me only
Well thank you because now we get a new book!!
I think it will be really fun if the next book will be written from the perspective of Cesar Flickerman
this was such an interesting watch! i gotta say i have no clue who our pov character will be (or even if it will only be one), but regarding tigris and snow's falling out i have a pet theory that makes me think we won't quite see the aftermath of it in this book - it'll still be the buildup. one thing we know about tigris from tbosas is that she likely did some manner of s*x work to bring in money for her family. we know eventually snow starts forcing victors into a similar situation, most notably with finnick. we also know that tigris was a stylist at least long enough for katniss to recognize her from capitol tv, so she probably worked on the games until around finnick's games, when katniss would have been around 7. i think that tigris might have been a stylist in finnick's games - not sure if for him or not - but once she found out what was happening to him and other tributes with them being forced to use their bodies the way she had to all those years ago, she finally decided to break ties with snow once and for all.
this is entirely conjecture on my part lol so i have no idea if this would be accurate, but regardless i would love to see more about her and snow's deteriorating relationship in sotr!!!
If I was Suzann Colleen’s, I’d be having the time of my life rn reading y’all’s theories
I love this idea and what I was thinking as I watched the video
i think it may be maysilee’s pov because not only will that give us an insight into the arena itself, but also of someone like peeta that is from town and fairly middle class. this is someone that may believe in the propaganda the capitol feeds its citizens and the districts, so slowly untangling that with her may be the center of this book. either way i’m very excited!!
I think the book will start with the games but it's core story is about his life after winning.
I with love a peeta's pov to know his friends and people that had a crush him ,Portia his styles and close friend and his childhood
This is such a brilliant theory, I can’t wait to see if you are right! So hyped for this book/movie.
i really really want it to be a dual pov!!
It would be a good idea to have a character that is fully bought over by the Capitol's manipulation, even when horrible things are happening to Hamich and his loved ones.
i think coin is our main character, watching from 13, trying (and failing) to make maysilee the first mockingjay
Especially since that would allow us plenty of interaction/view of Haymitch and his games.
he was the first on my mind, too.
first of all i need to see another quarter quell game in depth as catching fire is by far my favorite movie and I think it could be really great to watch bc they always make those games extra special.
i´d love if we saw the perspective of one of the two girls that gets reaped together with haymitch (but ends up dying so we see it from the eyes of someone that doesn´t survive),
imagine if two sisters get reaped, the older one engaged to the second male tribute. together with the two guys she makes a pact to protect her younger sister. somehow she ends up dying early in the game, which devastates her sister because now she has to take her place and gets promised to the guy, who treats her like he owns her now. haymitch however sees the possibility to to sell them as lovers in order to get more sponsors and help protect the younger sister.
I LOVE THIS THEORY!
It literally describes the arena in catching fire and how advanced it is bro
Madges mom cant be dating haymitch. It litterly said that after haymitch came back from the games, the capitol killed his mom GIRLFRIEND and sibling.
I want there to be a book to about Peeta like the whole thing from peetas perspective
They make haymitch is the example of what happens if you go against the capital as a tribute.
Is it only me because it with be cool if it peeta's pov because we wonder how his childhood was like and what he went through in the capital
honestly i was hoping for something like this before the new book was announced. i have always imagined myself from the perspective of someone in the districts watching this on the screen and how i might view it if i hadn't gotten so much of the behind the scenes perspective. i always wished there was some more context for that perspective. so i hope you are right. when you started hinting to who you were talking about i was like its gatta be Maysilee!!!!
I'm just hoping Collins would move away from district 12 in the next book. We want to see the other districts too!
After this book, I would LOVE a Cinna or Effie POV or even some of their back story
I love your theories!! I am so excited no matter what it ends up being about.
as much as I'd love to see katniss' mom and dad when they were young and know all about madge's mother too, I also really want to read from another district's perspective.
[edit: I would actually KILL for a book from Katniss' fathers perspective!!]
i think it'd be really interesting if the book jumps between perspectives of Haymitch having to compete in the quarter quell, Katniss's mom or Madge's mom living in 12 when peacekeepers were regularly whipping people, maybe plutarch as he's starting to come up in the games & connect witht he rebels, and Coin or Boggs in 13 as they continue to build up an army against the capitol.
Nope, Snow is already the President during the 50th Hunger Games meaning that he Can’t be a game-maker
@@crackshipsarelifehuh, I guess that explains why most people don’t think the next book is from Snow’s perspective. Thanks for the clarification.
I think it would be interesting if it was about Plutarch in his early days as a game maker and maybe his shift in perspective on the games before he becomes a rebel
I’m just HERE for whatever SC writes! She’s such a good storyteller ❤
It would be cool if she gives up perspectives of different people with each chapter(s) from Haymitch Maisily, I love the idea of Plutarch
i actually like your idea more than i thought i would. another possibility could be the runner up girl from district 1. this is important since we know career districts can be the most affected by propaganda to the extent that they volunteer to the games.
Girl drop your curly hair routine 💁🏻♀️ you have no frizz despite living in AZ 👀 your look today is top tier 🔥 love the colourful top with the blue 🙌
Thank you!!! ❤️❤️
I think that timeline would be VERY long if we met Katniss, but it could be possible. I remember in the Divergent prequel, "Four", the timeline is broken into different parts throughout Tobias' life, and ends up being a 2 year timeline throughout the book. So it is a possibility
