I am only 20 mins in but I just had to comment now. This is a such a great chat between to DJ's, such an insight into their world and really cool guys. I love Rob Luis Tru thoughts radio show and I love Mr Scruffs DJ sets, I remember seeing him down in Exeter and it was such a great night!
Great interview! Some very useful tips/advice for anyone looking to be a DJ - but also just great for anyone with a genuine interest/passion for music. Not many specific tracks/artists mentioned. But one that was when he mentioned playing in Norwich (where the group is from) - Taxi. I had never heard of them so obv looked them right up and was not dissapointed! I'm going to see him play in Manchester in October - I think for the 3rd time - cant wait! 🙂

Interesting conversation here from two fine fellas who love music deeply. I still remember the last 3 tracks Mr Scruff played in a small tent back at one of the Big Chill festivals (maybe Eastnor castle) in the early 00s. He played Terry Callier's - I don't want to see myself (club mix), Stevie Wonder - As, and.... shite I can't remember the 3rd track! I know it was a classic though!!! Maybe Nuyorican Soul's version of Black Gold of the Sun.
I know it's a bit sad replying to my own comment, but I've just remembered the 3rd track. It wasn't Nuyorican Soul. It was Sylvester's 'Over and Over'. Amazing song. Those 3 songs from Mr. Scruff's set really stuck with me. It was about 20 years ago that I heard him play.
