Building Our Forever Home in Mexico - Update (Finish on the Walls & Second Floor Balcony Columns)

- Today I was finally able to get down to our homebuild to get an update on the progress! Fidel and the guys have been back at work for 1 week and are working on hard to get the finish on our walls up and preparing the columns on the second floor balcony so they can be poured. We did run into a snag with the finish in Dominic and the new baby's rooms but we were able to make some adjustments and are moving forward. Enjoy and drop your questions below!

Before the last coating goes on the concrete has to be sealed with water seal.
Cracks happen with any job. No ones fault. They are doing such a great job on your huge casa. So happy for you and your family.

I would get a 5gallon bucket of Thompson water seal and seal the concrete concrete will pull moisture out of the air or when it rains and when you put the finish the trapped moisture will bust out.

Have to use sealer before start plastering, that way avoid humidity on walls.

The house is going to settle whether you compacted or didn’t compact the soil. It’s a big house so you can expect more of those cracks

America 🇺🇸 eat your heart out, this home will never pay the rip off property taxes that you 🇺🇸 have to pay rent to the state to live in your own house and get this one ! This home will ever ever pay home owners insurance or HOA’s😜 this house will never get damaged by tornados, fire or floods. This is the real American dream in Mexico 🇲🇽 and still another one much better yet, this house will never ever need A/C 😆 there is no humidity in Puebla 😜 maybe a fire place for winter.
