    Thanks for the ride along sir, two good men in the same industry comparing notes and a little BS at the same time, great fun and I enjoyed it immensely, thanks Wade.

    Nice...Real Nice unit, Mr.Cliff!👍
    24 years and still walking...that is a major accomplishment by itself and the feller is well deserved. Be safe getting it figured out and thanks for taking the time to show her off! 👍

    Super Duper machine! I would love to have it! I would have taken a hotsaw over the intermittent but im no expert on them, just going on what people who have them say. I was a 27 year hand cutter and went to a tracked dangle head machine. I work in the mountains all the time and I hardly ever have to hand cut a tree anymore.

    And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what $15,000 a month for 5 years looks like. Before insurance, fuel, payroll, maintenance, moving, and repairs.
    You need all the support equipment to be late model, you need good reliable help, you need 8,000 acres of good timber, and you need steady recession proof markets to make that machine pay for itself.
    It's a LOT harder than most guys would think.

      Spot on ! Timber and coal , about the same , wide open or quota , steaks and fish or potted meat and crackers , a few do very well !

    One way to tell if that sweet machine is worthy and gonna hold up is put Ol Tator behind the wheel for about 6months then report back and let us know . Dang wade id like to see you in that sweet ride you definitely deserve a new one with all the bells and whistles .
    Keep er goin !!

    Been around them since the hurricane winds in the midwest. We use them around areas we are cutting through for power and gas or building a road through. They are something to see, usually two or three going and a crew hand cutting.

    Cliff will enjoy the one thing Deere has that others unfortunately do not. That's the window in the floor.
    He may want to look at a gym membership as well.

    12 teeth on these new ones. We run an intermittent head years ago when they first come out on a Prentice 720 and they actually only had 6 teeth they done a lot of hacking. We cut in the Appalachian mountains of Southwest Virginia eastern ky. and East Tennessee.

    the timbermatic is actually been around since the time timberjack was still a company john deere bought timberjack and so early 2000s years machines are pretty much one to one with timberjack i know for sure the forestry harvesters are because i learned to cut wirh a old deere harvester and it was one to one with a few years older timberjack also from over the sea from Estonia

    John Deere quality machines are gone downhill not like the original I guess whatever floats your boat

    • @phynixkates256
      @phynixkates256 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We prefer tigercat. Closest dealer to is is 6 hours away which means when a machine goes down it’s down for roughly 2 days! If you don’t have dealer support you don’t have anything!

    • @daltonhorton3366
      @daltonhorton3366 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We prefer tigercat also we have a L830D coming from a cat 522B our dealer is 6 hours away also and the cat dealer 30 minutes away if that tells you anything. But with that being said I think the Deere leveling is as close to the 830 as you can get cat makes you feel terrible on a hill. We run 2900s too cutting hardwood in southwest Virginia and Eastern ky and tn.
