Got any memories with these car brands? Share your nostalgic stories! Let's celebrate their legacy together??
there is so much inaccurate information here its painful to watch and listen too.
One memory is Toyota and Mercedes are not American.
This is the biggest pile of crappie that AI has ever made. How every truck has durab material. . no knowledge of anything about trucks... Nice picture s
@@bradley7723 the toyota brand is jap yes, but the tacoma pickup is only built in....you guessed it, tacoma wash. so some might claim its american, yet we know the truth.
AI-school dropouts wrote AND narrated this
Not convinced Toyota was a American pickup in 1940
Or the Mercedes-Benz Unimog. Totally german engineering product although they later on had some co-operations with Studebaker it´s been written (hint: the hood and grille on the Silver Hawk mimics the MB luxury passenger cars, fun fact is that Studebaker also had an unrealised prototype built by Porsche in its late years), until they merged with Packard before closing the shop. The Unimog seems to have been initalized by some smaller firm before MB stepped in with their bigger resources to get it going into the broader market. The vehicles name is an acronym for UniversalMotorGerät, a universal motorized appliance.
@@hasseslaggmek3573 even though they didnt build them here, they did become the American importer for Mercedes-Benz, Auto Union, and DKW and sold them through their dealerships. maybe thats why some people thought they were built here.
Give the camera man a drink, he's having the DTs
When I was young there were many Cadillac pickups used as flower cars in funerals accompanying the hearse.
Yep, saw that in the Godfather movie. I don't think I had ever seen one before that came out.
those were custom built by the same companys that built the hearses, so not a factory item. caddy never built any hearses, ambulances or flower cars.
The trucks you are showing are customized not factory standards
The Narrator kept repeating the Same Basic Paragraph Over, and Over with a few changed words for each vehicle "As You Imagine Yourself" Blah, Blah, Blah Ridiculously Redundant, and Unimaginative Script was Sadly Unintentionally Humorous!!!!!!!
Photo shop is over used on non existent vehicles
I think you should research your material a little more aggressively
I wonder if they know most of the '48 COE' pictures were a '41/46....
Any AI narrated video is going to be a little misinformative (a typical AI word!)
Exactly
This channel has no clue what they are talking about , they call these trucks goofy......... but praise them.
I would honestly love to have any of them . ( especially the GM COE ).
I was surprised to learn that all truck's names ended with an "s". Brilliant research.
The Packard Pick-up truck had to be a retired flower car, likewise with the 1956 Cadillac Pick-up truck had to be a retired flower car
That Straight-Eight motor was Smooth as Silk, yet had great Torque. Great Idea, but 50 years ahead of it's time. And, maybe, lacking in Frame cross-stiffness? Still, better than an F-150 wearing a Lincoln badge, IMHO...
Or concept car maybe? Harley Earl built a lot of odd things which happened later...
That Packard is a latter built truck some one made from a four door car. In the late 50s Packard made very few pickups for the South American market that were Studebakers with Packard badging. This ain't one of them.
many Caddys were special order and built by a coachworks shop, not in Detroit. Same goes for the hearse, ambulance body and other such odd-ball configurations, like stretch limos.
I wonder if the writer knows the "range of engines" offered by Chevrolet was 2 engines, a 216 and a 235 I-6.
Stupid cinematography, shaking and tossing the camera all over, making the video very dificult and anoying to watch.
"As you imagine yourself watching one of the best pickup truck videos ever on TH-cam" ...naw will never happen on this channel.
Wow. Some people will do anything to do a you tube video. So much information that it is almost like a comedy!
Your research sucks. Your segment on the 1955 Chevrolet Cameo never once displayed a 1955 p/u. The leadoff photo showed a '58 or '59 p/u someone mounted the fiberglass Cameo bed on. '58 was the 1st year of quad headlights for Chevy/GMC, alsio the year they debuted their slick sided steel "Fleetside" p/u box. The Cadillac & Packard "p/u"s weren't produced by those auto makers, they were station wagons that were sent to a custom coach works shop and converted to "flower cars" for mortuaries.
Neither of these cars were ever a wagon , The Caddy is a coachbuilt car and the Packard is car someone built for fun.
Always thought that Cadillac didn't make pickups, . they made "flower cars" for funeral processions.
they were all special order and built by a coachworks shop, not in Detroit. Same goes for the hearse, ambulance body and other such odd-ball configurations, like stretch limos.
The text to speech program narrating this video needs a refresher course in English.
@1:15-That is not a GMC COE shown. It's a Chevrolet.
it also didnt come as a pickup, they were medium duty trucks that didnt have a pickup bed.
I think I only saw one actually Jimmy....and that 41/46 COE sure got a lot of screen time....
@@GMCOGRE And they definitely didn't come as a "4 door" either. I used to have access to GM provided drawings of all cars and trucks made since 1940 to 1976 as part of the info I got from working as an instrument tech at a Delco distribution center.
@@Friedbrain11 yes, you are correct, back in the '90's i used to have a few of the '47 - '53 pickups, always thought it would be cool to build a COE but never could find any in usable condition. looked far and wide but everything i found was either beyond repair or would take a crap ton of money to rebuild. did have a '50 chevy pickup though with a GMC 302 built up with aftermarket intakes, 3 carbs, a split header, cam, higher compression pistons, had it balanced, and used a hydromatic 4 speed trans from a 2 ton truck in it (the one with a clutch to launch then it shifted like an automatic). from stoplight to stoplight there wasnt a v8 around that could out run it.
I believe you and your research lacks credibility. The COE style truck was produced by Ford, GM, Dodge, International, from the late 30s up into the late 70s. Packard never produced a pickup. They were a luxury sedan. Where are you getting your info. The only time Packard or Caddy pickup was a special built vehicle for fruneral homes called flower cars. GM didn’t produce any nor Packard. Dodge trucks were weak sellers. Lacked horsepower due to the flathead six. And rode like a lumber wagon with a lot of engine heat from up through the floor. Panel trucks were made by most truck builders. GM didn’t have the only panel truck, these panels go back into the early 30s.
#15.. the gmc was called an LCF.. low cab forward. My uncle worked for GM up until the 70s and use to snap at me when i would call them cab overs lol. They was popular in the 70s and 80s to turn into car haulers.
Railroads bought the FC JEEP pickups in a 3/4 Ton model , they are incredible too.
I do appreciate the commercial for the Chevrolet Advanced Design truck. Despite marketing copy tone, it is somewhat accurate.
Absolutely mesmerizing! It's full of delightful and surprising elements.
YOUR CAMERA OPERATOR NEEDS TRAINING IT SUCKS
that was supposed to simulate an old 8mm handheld camera of the era. It's actually a photoshop special effect. (used to excess)
There was never a GM COE pickup. All shown are custom builds.
Besides, that AI voice pronounces COE several different ways. Spelling it out = Cee-Oh-Eee, or Sow-ee. Or Cue-ee. Crazy
Love the Cadillac , Cameo and CO Chevy trucks. Amazing.
The COE is about as over the top as the new crop of pickups.
Wow a panel truck is considered a pickup truck by some people? News to me. 48 Chevy panel, pick up truck?
What about the International Truck???
They were Preety Tough .
I wish they made them like they did in the old days. They're junks now
Did you get permission to use the girls' picture, or is that your daughter. CLICK BAIT!!!
You got to pay close attention since this outfit shows vehicles that are different from what they are saying
Yeah she has never produced a coe cab over pickup
All of those were NOT called "S" that is PLURAL !!! Heard of those perhaps ????!!!
If the A l Traveled back to the 1948's.
It would not be reliable nor durable, it wouldnt be a modern feature, it would disapear because no durable computers existed in that era. 😂😂
😂😂😂😋
The Toyota FJ 40 looks good also.
Each and every one of these was introduced in their year of introduction! and what is cheri-shed? Only AI can answer.....
They were simple beautiful and reliabilie vehicles. Need restored for collection and museum purposes.
These upscale pickups were built as flower carriers for funerals as where limos at this time
3rd grade robot.
AGAIN! The Cadillacs shown are Flower Cars NOT pick ups!
Been around trucks and trucking my whole life (66 years ) and I never heard of a Jeep wide track until now ! There couldn't of been to many made ?!
This guy uses the exact same descriptive words for each vehicles. He knows absolutely nothing about the trucks he is talking about, only what he is reading off the paper in front of him.
He also can’t tell the difference between Chevrolet and GMC even though it’s relatively easy, count the letters!
Wish I could find a COE Dodge or Chevy for sale in Florida at a reasonable price. Of course the B Series Dodge truck would also work for me. And lets not forget the Dodge Power Wagon. Even the Military used them. Shows you how much they were liked.
They are the cars styles of the 😂cartoons
Whoever is behind the camera Slow Down
I love the size of this tanks you can put 12 people comfortable
Practice with good camera technique would be good also.
What's goofy is the camera work .
WTF, GM did not make a cabover pickup
And what happened to the cover truck that got my attention in the first place??
I wanted to see that COE Cadillac pickup truck. And when was the Toyota FJ pickup or the Unimog ever produced in the United States? These were supposed to be AMERICAN trucks! Can you say FAKE INFORMATION? Get your facts straight!
In the Packard section of the presentation why do you keep showing Packard Flower Cars? those are Professional Cars and not something the general public would have had access to.
Why two door handles?
NOOOO JUST SKIP TO THE END, NOT WORTH WATCHING
Sort of cool all the attempts at an El Camino type of thing, I can't be the only one who found it mostly a shame at the lazy nature of car companies who only chopped part of a car off, called it a pickup and couldn't seem to stop patting themselves on the back
Not sure where goofy comes in.
You have NO IDEA what you are presenting
The Kaiser Widetrack must have been an FC concept. I woulda liked to drive one for a bit...
Fun fact; the Kaiser pickup was at least until late (or maybe still, Google it) built under license by Hyundai for the south korean military in an upgraded version with a slightly changed front end design. Seems like it had been upgraded with some domestic diesel engine in later years. In Sweden, our military used a few of the Jeep marked slabside pickup version up into the eighties, don´t know if there´s any difference in the mechanics but those had the Wagoneer/Cherokee ribbed wide grille.
Why are these trucks (some at least) in Australia?
Is a flower car a truck? Is a 8 ton dump a pick up? Is jeep a company? Is luxury a 3 on the tree? Is a adaptation a redesign? Is some guys one off creation (a Frankenstein) history? Imagine yourself in 1947…. No MTV style editing
This video looks like someone driving around filming trucks shaking around and then off the web with a little information 😅
So what part about any of these vehicles are determined goofy?
You gotta just love the A-I (artificial ignorance) bots that write and narrate the video ... what a waste of bandwidth. ...
And not one of these were really goofy. I mean What about the fortd econoline pick up?dodge and chevy made them also. This has to be the most misinformed article on youtube about goofy, looking trucks
WOW these truck are so Cool , ty for sharing . SKK .
Baloney
What bullshit! No other way to describe it. The COE not ford or Cheverolet had a 4 door COE. That was built in the past 25 years by enthusiasts because it worked! I and many others learned to drive in the early trucks. the pickup havs been the heart and sole of the farm and small business man for at least 75 years. One out of touch idiot's ideas of style and utility missed it.
I really do dislike these AI narrated videos. They embody the spirit of idiocy and laziness alike.
Your information is not correct or complete at all and computerized voice. The original vehicles , not customized should only be shown %👎👎
I'm done! During the F-1 Ford segment you are showing Chevy pick ups! Not even a second rate presentation!
These were never manufactured by GM. These have been custom built by individuals and custom car hot rod shops. Fake Video
That is all BS! Cadillac never built a pickup!
bad video
you don't know your history!
This sucks
Absolute bullshyte
Half an hour of bullshit.
I have never been so underwhelmed, EVER! The computer generated voice track was a cure for insomniacs that do not respond to heavy medication! It mispronounced many words while wandering aimlessly through the most boring recitation of every sales brochure ever written! Add the fact that many of the images were of custom modified vehicles and the videos/movies must have been taken during level 7 earthquakes! Also, when were semi tractors and dump trucks considered pickup trucks? This was, for lack of a better word, HORRIBLE!
However, there were some images of some vehicles that are too rare to even know exist. Most of them appeared to have been taken in junk yard but, a few were quite good. That does not make the video any better. They just make it tolerable, but barely so. I sincerely hope to never see another video from this creator.
