- Arikana Chihombori-Quao is the African Union Ambassador to the United States. This week on Pick Yourself Up, Host Assegid Habtewold, speaks to Ambassador Chihombori-Quao about her work for Africa.

Montgomery Municipal Cable (MMCTV) is a government access station in Montgomery County, MD. MMC was designed to increase community awareness among the citizens of the county by broadcasting municipal events, educational programs and interviews with elected officials and other noteworthy individuals. You can find MMC on Channel 16 on Comcast, Verizon and RCN every evening as well as 24/7 access to our online video archives. Channel 16 is a member of the PEG Network (Public Education and Government) of Montgomery County. We are able to provide programming due to the continued support from the municipalities within the county.
We are located in the Kensington Town Hall/Armory. We have a state of the art, all virtual studio which allows us to change the background for each of our programs. All of our programs are produced and hosted by municipal and county residents who volunteer their time as a way of communicating a topic they are passionate about for the residents of Montgomery County.
MMC’s programming includes shows that provide the public with information pertaining to health and wellness, politics, business, the arts and life planning including services, organizations and local events. We also have programs for the Hispanic community. Whether you’re looking to hear from your elected officials about what’s going on in our community or if you are looking for volunteer opportunities close to home, MMC has something of interest for everyone in the county. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

I always LOOOOOOOOVE Ambassador Arikana's energy and passion for Africa. She exposes the Neocolonialism exactly for what it is. In this century, we are better and we should know better. Some of these pacts must be decimated or terminated with immediate effect and Africa must negotiate differently with the rest of the world. We cannot take this shit any longer.

Dr. Please don't hesitate and keep that information in isolation , probably because you stay in the USA. As fearless as you are informing us about the negative impacts of the European countries, the Berlin conference etc to the distabilization of Africa also talk about the B52's and other heavy weapons used by the USA to bombard ( Africa ) Libya. Probably if not for them we could have got a united states of Africa today.

I am proud of Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao! You have prompted me not only to blame African politicians on corruption but to understand the strategy of domination of Africa by multinationals and most advanced nations on planet! I'm Angolan, I'd say our political establishment and youth in general knows too little what goes in Africa on other languages except portuguese and consequently no ability to fight against domination games thrown by foreign powers. Their source of information is Portugal and Brasil, thus no awareness of the main issues that Africa has to solve. Education, scientific research and entrepreneurship are not taken seriously!

They have to isolate this lady because of her belief, determination, strong message and the passion for Africa to succeed. I love her dearly. First and foremost the whole Africa must unite to become one and use one currency. The continent must meet on a monthly basis to discuss economic, infrastructure, technology issues etc. We must choose one president for the whole Africa through election every 4 years. Thirdly, we must unite the diaspora along with all blacks throughout the world because Africa reside in them also.

So will the AU or the common free trade area have its own stock exchange for resources? Having a common stance on this trade could benefit Africa. Advising investors to rely on the African diaspora for business in Africa, is a good idea, but overall it should be easier to do business in the continent. Hopefully with the end to Visas and tariffs, the corruption also will go down. Currently it is still difficult for Africans to live and work in another African country - often people do not even speak the offical language of the neighbouring country. In the future industrial standards on the continent should also be aligned - to enhance trade.

We should first clean our minds. We should have a long journey back to independence, we should do away with denominations and political parties/institutions in each amalgamated country with amalgamated communities/tribes/families. Eg Africa should be one nation/country and each community/tribe should be a union/states of Africa. Africa should have one currency. Each community/tribe should establish their headquarters and Social media. It's upon us/you each community/tribe should stand up to be seen and speak loud clear enough to be heard.
