- When we went to Ohio to visit the foundry that would cast the Honor Bell, we had a chance to check out the world's largest swinging bell. And then they let us ring it. Zvony, i když jsou hlasité, tak sluch nepoškozují, protože mají hluboké tóny. Sluch poškozují vysoké tóny, chřestění a řinčení vrchního slyšitelného spektra tónů. - To je to řinčení, co je slyšet při úderu tvrdého srdce do zvonu, ale o mnohem vyšší intenzitě. To řinčení tam nemá být slyšet. To je chyba zvonařské firmy, co srdce do zvonu vyráběla.
Jsem ruční zvoník velkých zvonů přímo u nich. Na začátku rozjíždím zvony bez vynechání úderů a na konci taktéž bez vynechání úderů srdcem. Je mi 69 let a slyším stále dobře!

my mom told me that in the village near the where she grew up there is a huge bell that when its rang during massive storms the sound waves it created had the strength to push the clouds away, at another village people were scared because some of the clouds were pushed towards that village. I hardly believe it but one day I will see that huge bell.

Was the world's largest swinging bell from 1998 (its casting) until 2006. Gotenba City, Japan's swinging bell outweighs it. This bell is heavier than the Petersglocke (Peter Bell) in Cologne. It is interesting to note that the Kaisersglocke, also in Cologne, was heavier than the Petersglocke (but it was lost in 1918). This bell in Newport also outweighs that previous bell.

until Gotemba was outweighed by a different bell just recently. I dont know how to spell its name, but it weights 55 tons.

Most modern bells are harmonically tuned by skimming metal of different parts of the inside.
They usually are given a strike note an octave above and below plus a minor 3rd and perfect 5th.
Would sound great if it were tuned.

Yes, you can hear that better because the St. Peter bell's sound is C°. That sound is the deepest sound wich a normal human can hear as a musick sound. The Peace bell's sound is A°°/A-1. (A°° =A-1) This bell has an incredible huge bass. It makes yust a noise for a human ear. :)

Riverside's Bourdon weighs in at 20 tons. This bell does not sound tuned to me-too raw a sound. There is a TH-cam video of a non-swinging bell in The Kremlin, Moscow which the information claims a weight of 65 tons. It has a better tone than this one.
I find it funny that in america standing next to a bell of that size without ear defenders on is normal. Yet in england if u stand next to big ben when he strikes the hour you have to wear ear defenders.
