These bells are wonderful!!! They are in a great place...Mom was from Nottingham ...when I play The Bells thru my TV and external speakers ...close my eyes and I'm there !!! Wish it was that easy !!!
I often wondered that . Would love to see the lines / chains that attach the clock mechanism to the bell hammers .As far as I can make out they dont do belfry tours anymore , which is a shame .
Big Ben is the 13 and a half ton bell brought into london by 16 horses in the 18 hundreds. The bell was cast in 1834. The bell in this video is called Little John. It may look like big ben but the bell is a bit smaller and the hammer make a different sound to it when struck. 🔔
This place is so awesome 😎 that I feel like going there, the amount of the quarter 🔔 and the large 🔔 equals like a1000000000000000000000 tons with a good chime

It’s not muffled it is fine. So when I saw the 1st and fourth quarter jack playing its quarter hour that hammer barely rose up on the fourth quarter jack
The nearest I have got is standing in the arcade with shops about 4 or 5 floors below the bells and it is pretty loud . When Little John is striking the hour it sounds like something is actually banging . It is still quite loud there .

Being THAT CLOSE to a bell that loud I'm sure tickles the skin of every person in that room.
(ears bleeding) WHAT?!
Often hear that just as I’m walking past the Robin Hood statue outside the castle.. which is unfortunate, because it means I’m late for work
Is it just me, or do I fell like falling asleep when the quarter bells chime.
0:25 bells striking
When big ben is down for repairs, little john backs him up.
Coolboyjake27 lol he’s louder is that next to him
Yeah. :)
I love that comment and honestly if he knows whats good he will keep going while London is getting repaired. This is amazing
My dad works near there, can see the view perfectly of the clock, fantastic at night!
That fourth qtr jack would make a lovely tenor bell of a ringing peal!

The clock mechanism is on top of the belfry/rotunda unlike Big Ben where it’s under the bells

The hour strike for sure. The actual chime here is in E flat major, where BB's is in F-major.

the huge Bell reminds me of great tom

It's true. Those bells are pretty loud but pretty musical.
Yes...
It’s 10 o’clock if anyone is wondering.
I love this clock tower.
Drunk Monday morning after a weekend bender hearing this to wife:Boy was I hammered!
Sounds like the deepest quarter chiming bell needs some oil. It squeaks when the hammer moves down to strike the bell.
Do you mean the 4TH Quarter Jack? I went there to see the bell I mentioned and the bells hammer squeaked and lifted up like a sleeping hippo.

Wow, Little John hits so loud... Hope the bear (as Phil Harris) doesn't recognize this...
That’s in the UK
Uk? I did not know that.

Hey, despite a bit of distortion on the striking of the hour, it sounds great!
Sounds like the bell that plays the "F" note is squeaky for some reason.
It's the sounds of the Mechanism Parts in Action.
How heavy are the bells in the council house compared to Big Ben?

Is the striking location ever rotated on the larger bell. There seems to be a worn spot on it.
This is like the sound of Westminster Elizabeth tower,Big Ben

Alot of clocks do that
Well i mean clock tower
I agree to you
Except the big one in the middle has a different hammer
Well... now we know it is 10am

Try standing in the arcade where some shops and a cafe are underneath the dome and it sounds quite loud .
The lowest quarter bell sounds a bit on the quiet side
There is a video of the quarter bells striking quarter past the hour and the last one sounds like it is muffled with a damper of some kind on it .
