There are quotas. And it all depends on which VISA officer you get, you might get a stricter or more lenient/nicer visa officer and your approval/denial depends on which one you get

Pre-pandemic I was refused a visa I presume because I was self employed and the officer possibly thought that I could easily relocate and base in USA (I had and have zero intention of doing that, and even if I was I’d have applied for the correct immigrant visa, not B1/B2)
Anyway, six years later, I’m now married, have three children and work full time as a teacher, also I own my home.
Loads of ties back to UK, but I’m still worried about being rejected and I’d love to visit New York in August to watch the US Open tennis.

Would love this kind of video too!! I’m headed to my interview in 3 days and I feel nervous and because the last time I was in the US on a different visa (J1) and now applying for a tourist visa from South Africa, due to pandemic backlog, I kept applying for extensions while there, attending biometrics, the works, kept getting pending replies, I left without getting an answer. I am terrified of what will come on my interview day. I was so afraid of staying illegally in the US I would call the USCIS quite a bit to ensure I was still ok to be there while my application/s were being processed, they assured me yes every time. I’m back home, really have no plans to live in the US as I have a full life in Cape Town, but the heck do I show that when I have that giant of a target on my back already on top of the presumed immigrant intent. Ugh. I just want to attend my dear friend’s wedding. Again, I’m terrified and already feel slightly hopeless even though I haven’t even attended yet. Is that defeatist of me or am I being more realistic? Because what are my chances when it seems I’m up against 2 negatives already.

I am a little bit concerned about the interview and get the visa. I do not have strong ties to my country Romania not even to Germany where my parents are living. I do feel more at home in Switzerland but how to prove that. I am thinking to open a business/ hotel, after coming back from my trainee program in US, having the necesary knowledge. The trainee is in room division department, divided in 3 phases.
