Same here. The lore, the music, the storylines, the psychological mindtwisting, the characters - all amazing. I think SH2 was the biggest mindtwister of the series besides Shattered Memories. Still, a wonderful collection that we have forever.

A lot of people think this letter isn't real, but only James' imagination. I can't agree with it.

Eddie never met or even saw Maria, but I had the idea once that he may have killed her. But that is not what happened. It was either the Pyramid Head thing or the town itself that killed her there.
Mary's disfigured face was because of the illness (hence why in the hallway monologue she cries about how hideous she looks). The marks on Mary's face had nothing to do with the murder, they were there long before it. Maria may have been beaten to death, but those markings are in no relation or connection to Mary's.
Justin rivera I at first thought it was Eddie, so in my first playthrough, I delivered a finishing blow to him with a pyramid head's large knife(Revenge!). But it turns out Maria wasn't real.
The fact he couldn't watch her suffer is only a small part of the entire truth. Check the last conversation between Mary and James. James killed her because she hated her for having lashed out at him.

The silent hill's aesthetics in the first movie felt more appropriate, it was just to show so much that had it in the game such as the camera angles, the creatures, cults, and creature design representing Alessa like when she was in bed, wrapped around with wires really made me had a sense she had rage with imprisonment.

Gaming adaptations are always best if it's about the concept itself, it can be different characters within Silent Hill, we can discover what they're like and it would be beautiful or the opposite.
The jazzy part gives a hint of euphoria. Hope. But the chorus ruins all. Like a reminder. The piano is a endless loop. Keeping those elements together. Just like depression works.

I've gotta say nothing beats 1-4 but 5 was cool to me. And origins I couldn't put down. I wanted know what happens next in the story constantly. Shattered memories was...uhh so-so. And down pour was awful. The story didn't make sense and the monsters were very limited and they weren't scary at all. Just a bunch of cheap jump scares throughout the game. Killing people in the end was fun. Killing the "order" members. Never listen to a game review and take it too seriously. Know why? Although they could be right...game preferences is all a personal choice. You can't hate a game based on poor ratings. You never know you might like it. Even if everyone hates it. What matters is your entertainment no one else's. Review the games yourself and see whether or not you like them. :)

James did kill Mary. He couldn't watch her suffer anymore. It's in the conversation he has with her during the endings and the cut scene before she becomes the boss if you're trying to get the "Maria" ending.
