      LeacH torrent seems like an angry sexually frustrated basement dweller but he has a point. The future of trucking is with artificial intelligence. Just look at the Tesla Semi’s which will require less human interfacing. Eventually we’ll replace truckers with fully autonomous AI but until then, we have to respect these hardworking men & women.

OTR heavy haulers pull $1800 a week, and still less liability and less exposure to chemicals that can cause major issues later in life, for only $1000-$1200 a week. How do you measure how much fuel you are giving them? Is it just empty a full compartment and you know you gave them all the gallons that that compartment holds? What if someone old needs 400 gallons of premium' how would you "meter out" 400 gallons. I'm assuming you fill up your truck and then go and make a bunch of deliveries. Is that accurate, or is it more like "fill truck for next delivery, bring that, then return for another filling of truck?' Thanks for the video, it was interesting.

      I maintained a truck license for 43 years hauling Propane and Butane for 10 of those years. The truck and trailers are more dangerous when they are empty than when they are full. The empty tanks are full of vapor that is allot easier to ignite than a tank full of liquid. Granted gasoline will ignite pretty easy but the vapor in the tank already has oxygen blended in it and will flash quite easy!!

    Why wouldnt you take the extra few seconds to change your dials from empty to regular when the compartments have regular in them. If you were ever in an emergency situation people would mistake the tank for being empty when it is actually loaded. For example if the tanker rolled and fire crews seen the dials they would be tempted to think the tank is empty unless they checked your bill of lading.

    Just WOW. I'm the ops and control manager for a small petroleum company in South Africa and I've always believed that when it comes to doing a drop there's a standard across the globe. There are some similarities, like the vapor we release it via a breather pipe and rely on pressure built by the truck to gravity out. BTW you said the 6 compartments is the largest you've seen, here in S.A standard load is 40000 Liters = 10566.882 Gallons in a 7/8 compartment configuration. Be safe out on the road and always remember in our industry the moment we lose respect for the product that's when things end up going side ways.

So unless on the gas cap of your car says it recommends premium or only premium, you are better of using regular gas in your car.

    As someone who does dry van do u empty the whole tank and all compartments at one station return to the refinery and repeat ?

    • @DrtyDiesel
      @DrtyDiesel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      john leininger , if the whole load is going to one station then yes. if its a split unload then i may drop one compartment at one station then go to another station with the rest. We actually load from a terminal that gets fuel from refineries. so for instance the refinery may be in Louisiana, a ship will load up fuel, travel around florida up to Jacksonville and unload. then we go to the terminal that the ship unloaded at and load our trucks then go from there.

    great video. now i am not the biggest EPA fan but the vapor recovery does seem like a good idea. from what i understand in certain atmospheric conditions those vapors can pile out and stay close to the ground, drifting slowly or accumulating around. all it would take is one flick of the lighter.

    Two questions please. 1 how much do you get paid to haul dump fuel vs other products?? IE per load.. per mile?? 2 how you load fuel in this recessed filler units in bad weather and not get water in the tanks. I got bad gass once. Water in fuel. It ruined my week!!!!!!

    • @DrtyDiesel
      @DrtyDiesel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. At my new company im with now, I'm paid hourly. I get $19/hour plus OT after 8 hours. That's the starting wage.
      2. During rain I open the caps quickly put a fitting on to reduce the amount of water as much as i can. The store is responsible for removing water from their tanks. Not all of them do, but from my experience its better to buy from a name brand store rather than a mom n pop. Living in the south i buy only from GATE or Enmarket. Since im friends with a lot of GATE drivers i know they keep up on their fuel.

As a kid and even today I always marval at a these big rigs pulling a set of double tankers (most of the tanker trucks I've seen make deliveris in the Toronto area are doubles) as they snake around the city into seemingly tight gas staions only to wonder what the process of delivering fuel is like!

    Thank you for not for not taking offense, none intended. I've been dispatched to drive different trucks occasionally, some drivers aren't to particular about fittings. Without a bucket, you know what "can" happen. In a secure area I don't use cones either. It didn't show in your video. In California EPA requires that vapor be hooked to truck first, so when hooking to tank vapors are trapped in hose, making a true closed system. You are being grossly underpaid, I hope there is better pay in your future.

      All fuel haulers complain about their jobs. Its only until they get out there on the road they realize how good they have it. 12 years as s fuel hauler, majority of fuel haulers I encounterd are cry babies whinning ass bitches who worry about who has which load or alway tring to stab fellow drivers in the back to make themselfs look good. Thats why most fuel haulers hate their job because of other shit starting fuel haulers who make the job hostile.
