Leave the "locks" in place. The only reason to "open" the locks is to turn the section "upside down" to a make a tedder. Its not really a good tedder, but, it can work.
I'm here shouting at my PC - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DON'T take those pins out ! Those Acrobat Hay Rakes are so simple to use. If you take the pins out and swing the wheels over and put the pins back in, it will pick up the hay and actually turn it across the top of the wheels. As it's set now, that's really just for rowing up. I'd love to be there helping you out - you are so keen to 'have a go' , but it's agony to watch you making the same errors I did 50 years ago ! Take care 🙂
@@HumbleAcres maybe google a part number, like the wheel bearings, you may get a list of businesses that use that particular type of bearing. Sometimes long shots pay off. Or canvas the viewing audience, maybe that rake looks familiar to sombody.
You need to look on the foreign u tube. I don't know the country, but they show pushing the rake on a loader, rotating the arms and using it as a hay tedder. With your expertise, you'll see something else it will do

I’m sorry but I don’t have anyone that has the experience. I also enjoy figuring it out on my own. Sorry it can be hard to watch sometimes.
I can see you clearing more of the CRP field to make your rows straighter instead of that weird polygon shape.

I found similar rakes on overseas u tube episodes on farming
