Fun fact: the three veggies that Tim mentions in the children's garden, which are celery, onions, and (green) peppers are known as the "Holy Trinity" in New Orleans/Cajun/Creole cooking. Their answer to the French's mirepoix which has carrots 🥕 instead of green peppers.
I'm glad you mentioned the Holy Trinity! Add the Pope (garlic) and the family comes running! 😋
🙄
As a girl from New Orleans I always have frozen trinity in my freezer 😊
The Holy Trinity the best ingredients in any meals.
As someone from Baton Rouge I eat most things with these lol
30:00, that sentence was crazy. There is no way he was being serious.
what is it?
my thoughts exactly lol. it might be a good story for small children but considering its a "thrill" ride still, they won't even be able to ride this
Clearly these opinions were bought and paid for.
@@craftygirlygamer it’s not like that big video though. People are over exaggerating it. It’s only for a little little kids the kids that are six
It did tell a better story. Splash Mountain was just "two animal bandits chase brer rabbit over the waterfall" that's it. There's objectively not nearly as much story to Splash Mountain as people remember.
All the “Leah” references are a reference to Leah Chase, a famous New Orleans chef upon whom Tiana was partially based.
Thanks for sharing! Love it.
Leah is amazing! I went to her restaurant "Dooky Chase's" after learning about her. Phenomenal person and phenomenal food!
@@michelleoneal8157 same I love Dooky Chase!! I love all the artwork. Idk if it was there when last you went but previously they had a beautiful painting of Tiana displayed near the check-in area.
I noticed the musician mixup is on Louis. He said in the newspaper “Naveen’s taking care of that” but in the To Do list Naveen is setting up the party and Louis is hiring the band. 😉
Glad that you found a friend with a Fozzie voice for your Kermit lol.
I can’t unhear this now lol
God dang this is to true omg
😆😆
O.M.G.
Haha I love this!
11:12 on the clock! Song of the South (Splash Mountain movie) came out November 12, 1946...11/12/46!
Glad to see that tribute
Princess and the Frog also came out on Dec 11, 2009. 12/11/09 or could be 11/12/09. 🤷🏻♀️
I'm a little dissapointed the logic to not include the shadow man is that this takes place after the movie... but they still included Ray's voice in the bayou song, even though after the movie he's passed away...?
The real reason is because Disney considers voodoo religious and to put it in the attraction would be "problematic". They made the ride take place after the movie so they could block out Dr. Facilier. Many people are ignorant to this fact.
“Somehow Dr. Fusilier returned”
@@dogg0nit32 Disney mandated a religious iconology ban that included voodoo and tikis.
I mean we're talking about a firefly that died and became a star, anything is possible
I waited until we rode it, which was today, to watch this and I agree with you guys. I didn't care for Splash Mountain as much. I thought it was boring and kind of scary for kids. This flowed so nicely. The colors, the music, the story... all of it was perfect. I can't wait to go on it again.
Everything looks beautiful, but one of my favorite things about Splash Mountain was the “conflict”. Missed opportunity to have an antagonist, even if not Facilier.
I am so disappointed the ride up to the drop isn’t… “Are you reaaaadyyyy?? Are you readddyyyyyy??”
“Maybe we get beignets after 😄”
Tim: no 😠😤
Tim was so mad he didn’t know the original characters names 😂
This is a better POV than Disney’s
Haha 😂
Yes!
All the dead space was edited out lol
@@tehlyingcake1096 because it's not dead space there's no edit everyone is being extremely overdramatic
Just some Louisiana knowledge... All the purple flowers are Louisiana Iris. The onions, bellpeppers, and celery are called the "Holy Trinity," as stated already. Every South Louisiana meal is made with the Holy Trinity. The ride really showed Louisiana well, with Tiana's story, which was inspired by the late Chef Leah Chase from New Orleans. Born and raised in South Louisiana, this made me happy! ❤❤
I caught the Trinity as well :D
Ride looks fine but they missed making this ride so much cooler. Imagine going up the drop to “R U READY” while like spirit shadows follow u up and there’s a big facilitier animatronic at the top. Feels like it adds the extra layer that splash mountain had that I kinda feel like has been lost with this new story lone
A very cool idea! But this is supposed to be set about a year after the movie, so Dr. Facilier is already on the other side.
@@joanneh4803right, exactly. This story time setting is the problem, no opportunity for drama and danger a “storytelling 101” basic going back to children (and adult) stories for 500+ years. Opportunity missed.
@@joanneh4803ray dies too and he comes back in this ride
@@arielperez3613 I dont think that's supposed to be Ray. I think its just one that looks like him cause he's with Evangeline
I loved all the references to ray and his Evangeline. On the floor, the walls, her crown. Amazing details. I do wish there was more mamma odie and naveen
it would have been amazing if he wasn't dead for the ride. but they had no choice it would have ruined the experience.
just watched the opening of the Frozen Ride at Disney Sea in Japan. That is so superior to the Tiana's Bayou. There are more animatronics, better scenes and a better story which is in line with the movie. Also, they didn't take Anna and Elsa and put them in hiking outfits but left them in the beautiful outifts they had in the movie. Disney did not do Tiana justice at Disney World. It could have been so much better. You can tell that the Disney parks in Japan are not owned by the Disney Company. They are better run and new attractions are popping up and done correctly, the way Walt Disney used to do things
It looks cute, but I wish they would have just based it solely off the movie!! I had it in my head how it could go after the movie too….I can’t wait to see it tho! Oh well 🤷🏻♀️😐
The mountain is such an eyesore. They literally just slapped a bunch of plastic plants on the old facade... Tiana deserved so much more.
Completely disagree. It looks beautiful. Disney uses fake plants all over the parks that most people never notice.
Your opinion is so out of touch with reality. The while rode and queue is amazing. This is better than Splash and now my family's favorite ride. Stop complaining about nothings and enjoy life every once and awhile.
@@xbertx Yet you're complaining because someone's opinion isn't what you expect it to be. Funny that.
Baffling that they didn't update the queue to be handicapped accessible. There's no elevator, they take you in through the exit (which is as fun fighting foot traffic as it sounds) and you wait on the opposite side to get in.
It was such a beautiful ride! I rode on opening day and it was a great experience. The Special Spice song at the end was my favorite. I do feel like it was missing something but I look forward to riding it again to look at new things! 💚
I used to watch your videos when I was about 10 and now i'm 17 turning 18 and spent 2 hours to find your channel again, thank you so much for giving me disney when I couldn't afford it as a kid!
I like to think the bunny and the bear figurines are a nod to Br'er Rabbit and Br'er Bear!
The reality of Disney Magic 😂
You guys should always do the POVs. I watched some others and I thought it was boring. You guys do the best POVs.
Especially since people are going out of their way to trash this ride
Thanks for this video. The ride looks so bright and colorful and has a positive theme throughout with no scary parts. Love it 😊
Would have thought Dr. Facilier would have been incorporated some how. Still cant wait to ride it
Apparently The thought "we might have to play music through a stereo at the party If we don't find a band" is a worthy enough plot device to drive the entire narrative... No villain needed.
Since this ride is a post-movie storyline, Dr. Facilier wouldn't be in it due to him being defeated in the movie! I guess they could've made the ride as a movie to ride adaptation but I like that they made a continuation of the Tiana storyline instead of just riding through the movie.
@kaynicole6564 Disney left him out because their DEI division considers religious reference like voodoo "problematic". This is the real reason.
@@SirBuzzoh, there it is. The conspiracist always rears his goober head.
Tim: I can tell you were also filming for Jackson - you mentioned each drop and that size. Maybe it wasnt intentional but I know you show him ride POV’s. So sweet and supportive for Jackson and any other kiddo who watches!
It’s totally legit to watch povs of rides and know the scares ahead of time. Yet I’d say this ride track is the most fun for someone riding for the 1st time without any spoilers of track or story ahead of time. I would suggest, if given the choice, a child wait to age up few years and ride it without spoilers. Plenty of slow moving character rides available in the meantime.
And me I don’t like big drops
POVs. No apostrophe. 🙂
LMAO you threw in an "about three" in the ad copy.
Disney are supposed to be the Masters of storytelling. I challenge anyone to name a Disney attraction with a less compelling story than " I forgot to book a band for my party and how will I ever find one in New Orleans "
Being from New Orleans I agree. There's barely anyone from New Orleans who doesn't have multiple family members who play instruments.
It's because their DEI department said voodoo is religious and to include it is "problematic". Yes, Disney considers PatF "problematic" as well.
@@SirBuzz Yea "problematic" is why this whole change happened in the first place and why Disney changed one of their 3 iconic Mountain rides. They're going to want to avoid any more of it.
I mean the idea may be simple, but the execution was great and compelling in my opinion.
Someone actually finds this ride’s story compelling? Easily amused.
I feel like Disney could have gave more! Just like the Frozen ride and Avatar. I’m sure keeping it more simple helps keep down breakdowns of the animatronics.
I will forever miss the Zipp Pidee doo dah song though!
Is it just me or were there way more boats than there used to be making you stop on lift hills and bunching up?
During one of JoJo Crichton (JoJo's World)'s recent TH-cam livestreams, a friend of his said that Tiana's Bayou Adventure has been going down a lot during cast member previews because all of the ride systems for Tiana's are the same ones that were there during Splash Mountain. Apparently Splash Mountain was having issues before it closed and then the ride sat unused for a period of time during which Disney only changed the theming of the ride (they did not upgrade any of the ride systems).
You made me like the ride. By pointing out the details in the staging and the ride. It is what you want it to be. Enjoy the story or move on to what you like. Thanks Tim, great job as usual. We all want to see Jackson's smile on this one.🌞
The setting for both rides is similar enough to make the transition simpler. The animals really make it for me. I do love cute animals. Also, the shrinking down part was really well done. I'm still sad about Splash Mountain. It was so charming. I hope some of the other parks still have it.
@@A_A610 Plus Japan doesn't have the same social and political issues that contributed to this decision, so I doubt they would ever change it; or at least not for the reasons it was changed here.
You're words are my thoughts exactly. I haven't ridden it yet, but I still imagine I'll enjoy it with my friends and family. It does look very beautiful and I do like princess and the frog, I just think they didn't need to get rid of splash to give it a ride 😢. Regardless I'm always honest with myself and others about these things and I truly am excited to ride it even without the scare factors ❤
I've seen several povs of Tiana. In all of them, except maybe the one Disney put out, it appears that they are running the ride at the maximum number of boats it can handle. I'm sure they are doing this to adjust timings of the different show elements and test throughput and durability. I would almost guess this is the reason for the quote "breakdowns". It gives them time to make small adjustments in programming or procedures. I don't know when I will get the chance to go to WDW again, but it looks like a ride I would definitely enjoy.
Cannot wait to ride! This is my favourite film and the ride looks amazing
Much as I'd love to embrace this new ride ... and despite incredible music, animatronics and effects.... it seems a fraction of what it once was. 😏👌
I'm pretty sure that's implicit bias speaking. There's a literal gift shop and general store added to this and then there's going to be beignets
I love that you have “about three” Aura frames 😂
Loved this - I think you’ll love it even more at night time ♥️ xxx
After watching your video of the bayou I love this ride. Reading everyone’s reviews I didn’t think it sounded good but after watching your video Tim you really did it justice! Thank you❤
Aaahhhh I cannot wait to head down next week for the AP preview!! Hubby is sad that he’s not an AP holder and will have to watch as our daughter and I go on lol
I enjoyed your POV more than Disney Parks POV (who on earth filmed theirs, not good), after seeing yours I look forward to riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
It seems like you would really enjoy Tiana’s Palace (and French Quarter Lounge) on the Wonder. It’s such a great dining experience; Princess Tiana brought me to tears, and you get to parade and limbo through the restaurant with Louis
The ride looks BRILLIANT, I love the colour palette and just the cheerful, jaunty vibes.
This ride looks so sweet and joyful! I would be smiling the whole time. Honestly, that’s what I want from Disney. Fun escapism with beautiful set design and a fun ride.
watching the pov just made me want to go watch splash moutain pov.
Love how much detail you show, not just of the ride but of the queue as well!!
why is the video cut in between show scenes if the pacing is okay? To help the pacing of the video?
Could also be a copyright thing.
Now I need to see the film 😂👍
I love how Tim and Nick interact. That tracks. 😀
Looks awesome to me!
Its really interesting to compare the day and night versions. It might just be the cameras, but there are far more lulls in the night version because the lighting isn't great. In the day, the only effect that seem to not be so great was the light up to the big drop, which is understandable.
s a thumbs up because of Tim's honest review of the mint treat!
I love Nick, glad he’s riding with you Tim 😎👍
It's too bad the ride has only been up for a matter of hours due to all the issues it's been having.
My husband and I saw you guys this day! My husband asked if you guys wanted him to take a picture of you guys instead of asking if we could get a picture with you guys LMAO we got nervous and walked away😂
I love this! So mych more life now, its beautiful
Miss the old one!! But I will give it a chance!! Thx for the vid Tim 😊👍🏼
I believe splash mountain was a classic because it had the traditional hero/villain storyline that all Disney classic storytelling has. This re theme falls short without the villain and at best feels like a Disney junior short. Tiana deserves better. A new version of an original can disappoint. Much like when you attend a live concert of one your favorite artist(s) and they sing a classic hit song differently with altered notes and tempo and you say to your self that doesn’t sound as good as the original. If the original sounded like the altered live version it wouldn’t have been a hit in the first place. I wonder if those deciding on the re theme just didn’t like the movie plot since Tiana spent little time as a Disney prince and most of the movie as a frog.
I think the re theme of this ride is good but could be better. I find it strange that there is still the danger of the drop but they didn’t add a villain to the ride. Missed opportunity there for me. Overall I won’t miss splash because the improvements in animatronics is amazing
LOL ABOUT THREE!
I cannot wait to see Jackson on this!
For anyone wanting to ride Splash mountain....its in Japan. Travel there to ride it.
THIS!!
not tim sneaking “about 3” in the sponsored content !! 🤣🤣
About what I was expecting! Sad about the lack of Keith David in any capacity, but it's a pretty charming display of the new electronic animatronics and the improved projection tech on the screens that are there. My only problem is the writing, which isn't necessarily *bad* but it feels more like a cartoon for preschoolers rather than the original film that had some element of bite to it. Haven't been in person yet, but it's a 7/10 based on videos I've seen. Hopefully my opinion will change, but Cs get degrees!
The memes For Tiana Broccoli Mountain, Its Funny as heck 🥦🥦😂
Great ride but Splash Mountain is a classic. Never shudve gotten rid of. I love Brer Rabbit and yes there was a story. Please don't throw me down into that briar patch.

From the people who brought you, "Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit!"
This looks so great! I waited to really intake any ride through content for the best content (TheTimTracker content of course!), I can understand why some people are frustrated but honestly the ride looks amazing and the characters look absolutely amazing as well. The screen usage isn't too bad in my opinion, there's more physical characters and theming then screens which I feel like is the most important factor really. Also I love that they continued the storyline of Tiana, I definitely would rather ride a ride with a new story than just ride through the movie in a physical form. Dr. Facilier would only make sense IF they did a movie ride through but since he was defeated in the end of the movie - I'm glad they didn't add him in.
Also they had to fit some sort of storyline line, so while some people may feel like it's short, remember they had to fit a whole new story into a space that was already created. If it was building a new space then maybe the story could be longer, but I think for the space they had, that they did a fantastic job. That queue though is so gorgeous, I could spend literal hours just taking in the details!
Thank you Tim, Nick, their cast member friends, and of course Jenn for this awesome content! You all are so awesome!
Our preview time for cancelled so we didn't get to ride. I'll go on it eventually, but honestly I miss splash lol
I love this ride looks like so much fun thanks for bringing us along with you this vlogs
I love what they did to this ride. I love the art that they put into it. I am glad that you got to ride it Tim. ❤
Rough crowd here in the comments… the ride really did need a facelift. I love the movie, I agree I think they could have done more with the ride, but like everything, things change. I still miss the old Snow White ride lol.❤❤❤
Change is good but when you change it and half a** the remake that's why people get mad. I love princess and the frog and to see so much emptiness and before the drop just nothing at all, it's just annoying...I would have rather they build something from the ground up...the ride honestly just seems like a log flume now and nothing more. To each their own but they really dropped the ball on it
@@nicholasticali6123 not disagreeing, I think they could have done more as well. It’s Disney and no one is going to stop going, people will pay $7.00 for an ice cream bar. I just meant overall rough crowd because of some really nasty comments toward the vlog and ride. Folks can not like it and that’s ok, some folks love it, and that’s ok too. There are so many changes Disney has done over the years I guess I have just learned to roll with it. I also really do love the movie. And thank you for replying without jumping down my throat, but expressing your thoughts without attacking me. That’s another thing I see in these comments. Folks being so mean to one another over a ride and that’s disheartening.
@@tiffanyann9763 I don't agree with people going at each other over a ride because at the end of the day people are still ganna go and Disney is still ganna do what they want. I just don't like the fan boy Disney fans that think they can do no wrong and can't admit when something is not the best.
That letter to Louis was from Eric G. Gonna guess that’s a homage to the illustrious Eric Goldberg who was Louis’ lead animator. He also was the lead on Genie. Thanks for posting this vid!
I don't think the ride is as bad as the detractors are describing it, but I do think the getting to the party storyline is pretty lame. They could have come up with something more interesting then that.
The only story that it felt like was an add for tianas palace in DL
its my favorite princess movie and i like the ride especially with what they got right (lighting effects, screens to increase ambience, glow in the dark, better smoother animatronics) but wish they added more to what theyre lacking (more animatronics to make the bayou alive, have the songs tell a story rather than be mere background noise, a decent story that isnt just find critters for the band, a sense of danger like dr facilier who turns them into frogs like in the movie but this time its mama odie???, possibly even have "are you ready" play as you approach the final drop with facilier and mama odie battling it out with magic which turns you back just in time as you fall) just my opinion but excited to see how the future plays out!
@@kspoopsssI completely agree. They could have kept critter animatronics surely, because splash mountain’s indoor theming was dense and created more atmosphere. The spray paint mushroom stuff during the shrunk down part… is bad. It looks so lazy, and it’s unfortunate because this is an important Disney character to so many people. Tiana deserved better:/
@@lolafisher3453 Ariel is an important character to me, as she (the original one) is the only Disney princess I see myself in. We're both pale redheads who sing, feel out of place, have someone trying to keep us from what we care about, and we both know love is worth sacrificing and fighting for. I think her ride and live action movie don't remotely do her justice. So it definitely isn't just Tiana. I agree she deserves better, just as Ariel does.
its a little bit like "living with the land!" awesome!
That Louis animatronic in the beginning continues to worsen in condition by the minute doesn’t it?
The first Louis wasn't moving his mouth in this video like it was in the Disney pov
Yea.. I saw it in a different video too.
Awwe man! I'm disappointed that you weren't able to see JuJu! He's supposed to pop out over the beignets at the very end
Will you be one of the first on the Disney Treasure ship or the new Disney private island? You’re the only one I watch for reviews on stuff Disney related 🤣
So glad you got to ride it after the first attempt ! Is it possible for a ride to make you crave beignets bc after watching your POV I immediately wanted beignets
30:09 Tim did you just say “yeah” to the comment “This tells such a better story than Splash Mountain ever did.”?!! Are you saying you agree with that comment?
As always, I appreciate your positivity, as well as your clever insights and sense of humor, but…
Splash was the first log flume to give us multiple fake out drops that were part of a long story. Brer Bear and Fox are trying to catch Brer Rabbit but he keeps outfoxing them and slipping away as we take plunge after plunge. The story matched the track system perfectly. First time Splash riders used to be surprised that the first drop wasn’t simply the one big drop. The happy music contradicts and builds on our experience as we await the dreaded final plunge- Rabbit’s ultimate use of reverse psychology complete with undertaker vultures who mock us as we wait to ascend and cooking Brer Rabbit images to add additional shivers an then plunge!
I can understand that someone who visits WDW as much as you do would really enjoy it when anything new is added.
Some of the animatronics and fireflies look fun.
We could have had Tiana on the riverboat and maybe add more New Orleans scenes to be viewed from there.
Your positivity about waiting 3 1/2 hours was admirable. It was fun to see your experience.
Thanks for all of that.
Very important mega fan question! Does it still smell like Splash Mountain?!
I totally understand why people would want a slightly scarier version of this ride but I love that it's more fun than scary!
Fun is good but they could have done better! I’m disappointed in it they could have done so much more! As long as the kids enjoy it that’s what matters
It's so hard to get it just right for all tastes but, you're right, the kids are going to love it.
@@michelleoneal8157
That’s what a lot of people seem to be forgetting! A lot of kids wouldn’t even know about Song of the south when they rode Splash Mountain, and this new retheme definitely works for younger kids, especially for fans of the movie!
I wonder what Tiana has on her menu. Frog Legs and Alligator are big bayou foods. If she had those in her restaurant, it might be a little concerning.
After finishing the video, I found myself singing "Almost there", and that's how I feel about the ride. It's almost there. This isn't meant to be a thrill ride, a normal flat ride sure, but even then, the story falls short. It's missing so many elements. I knew it wouldn't be great, but I had hoped it would at least be good 😔
It doesn't matter how people online feel about tiana's. It's gonna be a popular ride. People loved the movie and it's the only water ride that gets people wet. It's gonna be refreshing to guests in the FL heat. I see this ride devouring crowds.
They didn't love the movie that much, seeing as it's the reason Disney hasn't made 2D movies since. I think it's enjoyable, but it definitely didn't do well when it was out.
Missing already Splash Mountain😢
I go a week before it opens, this is only my second time visiting disney. I was so heartbroken when i heard the opening day would happen a week after. It just gives me another excuse to go again soon!
I liked the new ride, I will miss Splash Mt., but the story was fun.
I have seen this a fair bit from the outside in the last two weeks it looks amazing, and the ride throughs look great as well, still don't think there is the anticipation build up or trepidation for the final drop but otherwise looks amazing/
I can’t wait to go down and ride it again. I’ve remember when it was still splash Mountain looks like the same ride only thing they did was change the characters out, but it looks like the big drop to the end that makes me happy. Thank you.
Finally that one lantern isn’t strobing with the frame rate.
It looks like it was meant more as a flat ride but was jammed into a log ride setup.
Such a fun video! Thank you for bringing us along! ☺️🐸❤️
The Best Part of The Ride Was when Tiana Said, Mountains In Louisiana Are Iconic and Should Be Recognized ⛰
I don't remember ever having to sit and wait right before each drop on splash Mountain. I think there was more space between the boats also. Maybe I'm wrong. Somebody tell me.
I think its just an issue since its only just opened to the public, I'm sure they'll get it fixed soon enough
This is what cast previews and soft openings are for - ironing out these kinds of things, which is what will be happening here is all
During super busy times we’d have to wait a fair while under the vultures. They maybe put on too many ride vehicles on those times and then those needing extra help added to the need for a wait (no shade or criticism to them, I’m happy to wait if more people can enjoy it).
@@Monkeyboy1138ah! Ok. I think the previews are super busy so that explains it. Thanks!
Sometimes we did have to wait. It depended on how busy they were. Sometimes logs got a bit backed up too.
Yeah, it didn’t wow me. But I agree, it needed a refresh
The Bayou theme works well over the skeleton of Splash Mountain. But why not build a totally unique Princess & the Frog Attraction? Instead of simply shutting down the world's best water ride? With the prices that Disney charges they should have been able to do that. Disney seems to have lost its Edge and is also is Penny pinching at the same time.
I loved splash mountain and am sure i will love this just as much!! What a fun ride, so glad you got to ride it after such a long wait ❤😂
Does Jackson ever see some of these videos and be like "Hey !!! Where was I" ?!?! 😆✌️❤️
Any bluebird references? I liked the bear, fox and rabbit nod.
