I use to have a 84 cj7, my winch was used more for rescuing others. I bet I pulled 6 out at what we call the monument in Maud. They put a stop to mudding in that area a few years ago.
What I would really like to see is if somebody has figured out how to put a hitch on the front and then I could do this on the front and that would be perfect that's what I was looking for.
Yes, Any way about it the front has to be taken apart. I carry a comealong along with straps , shovel and traction boards. Hopefully those will get it unstuck if I happen to be in that situation. The rear winch is a option.
Yes insane if you have somebody else installed in the front it's like 2500 bucks.... It's really crazy... This is about the only way that makes sense to me unless I just become a multi millionaire or something and don't care at all.
Having a winch, even if it is a hitch mount, can be a life saver, lol .
Dude! I am totally with you... I thought about doing the same thing because it looks like such a pain in the butt to put a winch on the front!
