I so resonate with everything you say ! I was brought up being told how wonderful it is that I am such a ' nice guy ' ! It was always in my nature to run around , checking on everyone , making sure everyone was okay , constantly supporting , worrying , reaching out , and yet I still always ended up isolated and completely alone . Then you wake up and realise NO-ONE ever does ANY of this for YOU ,, so you get frustrated , you get sad , you get ANGRY ! This is not the way things should be , why aren't I more popular ? Why aren't I more respected ? Why do people ignore me and never reach out to me ?!! My weakness was always my need to people please , and apart from a couple of extremely manipulative and controlling toxic narcissists , most people sense it and will stay away ! My first step was to learn to become more comfortable with my own company , the second was to trust my OWN answers again , and the third was to let go of my frustration and anger for good ! 🙏💪❤

There is no inner nice guy. There is only an outer nice guy that's a coping mechanism for survival.

Why do we have empathy? If I was to give money to a homeless person who in no way benefits me how would that be a survival mechanism. If anything I am $10 worse off, why do selfless acts get marked as selfish through the concept of "survival mechanisms". If a car was coming and you didn't see it, and I threw you out of the way and I got hit instead.
Would that just be a survival mechanism or are we capable of more? What would that entail? Would sacrificing myself just be a coping mechanism? Or is there some actual meaning and value to altruism?

Paused at 4:53 to comment. Thus far in this video we have been on the same path. I, too, had been fearful of my inner strength...of what I might say or do if I let myself go. A few times in my life I actually did rage, and it scared the hell out of me - not wanting to harm anyone, I monitored myself once again. Now I have learned what my boudaries are, that I am a person worthy of the respect I show to others...and most importantly, that I insist on teceiving that respect. This either works to correct a situation, or I leave the person completely.

I resonated with what you said about your art when you were a kid. I found I could draw pretty well when I was about 11 and drew obsessively for years, I started drawing really gory violent stuff like you did, war scenes, lots of blood. My parents were concerned and spoke to my teacher when I was 12 years old and she told them she felt I was just venting my feelings. What a cool teacher. I was being bullied and that's how it played out. I became a professional artist and designer later in life.

Meditation helps me to stop suppressing anger and other emotions. When we let it out, we heal.

Good video mate, I reckon lots of lads needed to hear that there were other people in the same boat. Anger can be chaotic but it can fuel you like nothing else.
