    How can this lovely gearbox have turned to shite in the Quattroporte??

    Hello friends - I’m telling you, Maserati’s aren’t bad at all. These cars are very niche and 99.9% of you are probably not used to the Italian gremlins or the maintenance that is required to keep these beauties running. If you have the means to keep one of these in tip top shape…I promise you, you won’t regret it. You either get Italian cars or you don’t. Same thing goes for my Bentley Turbo R…one episode of Hoovies garage and suddenly everyone is an expert on Bentley….find a well maintained Maserati, oit decats on it and drive by wire…get it lowered and you will have an amazing piece of machinery that, I’m sorry, the Germans will never be able to match….driving a Maserati is an experience….you don’t buy it because it has all the gadgets or because it’s the fastest car…you buy it because it’s different, it’s finicky, has Ferrari built engine that pulls and never runs out of power…all the way to 180+ mph. I am almost 6’3”….I recline the seat a little bit and I am fine. If you want bland, boring and silver….well…..you know where to find it….it’s not in Italy.

    Looks like the Monte Carlo from the same era

    Adjusted for inflation this would have costed $136,000 msrp

    it's really too bad that Maserati isn't part of Toyota or Mazda...

    You can pick up this Maserati for less than 15k, because they are so unreliable and expensive parts.

    • @ChicagoItalian
      @ChicagoItalian ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, they are inexpensive now…however, they are very reliable…people are just too cheap to do the maintenance and then they sell them…the next bloke picks it up and it’s avalanche of deferred maintenance and then people rip on the car because it’s not maintained. I’ve owned mine since 2007 and it is meticulously maintained accompanied by several Formula Dynamic modifications. So many trolls on Maserati and people really know nothing about these cars.

    • @ubiased23
      @ubiased23 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Aboveyou100 again you are wrong. You haven't mentioned the fact why does Maserati depreciates so quickly. It's because the car's reliability and there are many online forms will say the same. Also, I do read from consumer reports as well and it concluded the same thing.
      I am not trying to troll or hate on the vehicle. Look at range rovers, They also depreciate so quickly because of the known reliability problem.
      Stop being sensitive, it's not like we are talking about your wife here.

      Have to ask, have you owned any Maserati? I have owned 4 and they have been pretty close to bullet proof once they are serviced and maintained well.
      The only sensitive thing being the tire pressure monitoring system which is overly sensitive and alerts when the tires are merely cold.
      I stay away from the Cabiocorsa gearbox and prefer the ZF auto in more modern cars with paddle shift or straight up Chrysler Torue Flight 3 speed for my V8 1986 Quattroporte III sedan @@ubiased23 I'm looking for a manual for my next 2003 Spyder GT purchase. The engines are pretty bullet proof as anyone in racing knows, you can win if you don't finish!

      They depreciate b/c of comments like yours from people who have never owned one and spread falsehoods like President Trump. Repeat it enough and it must be true... I ask again how many Maseratis have you owned? If NONE then shut up, you are the problem not the car! @@ubiased23

      @@ubiased23I am not being sensitive. I purchased my 2006 Maserati GranSport new and properly maintained it….never had any problems with it…can you honestly tell me you’ve owned one of these cars and know anything about them…I would to get I touch with you and further educate you on these cars…can you tell me your experience with Maserati’s?
