What people fail to realize about FSU is that many players forfeited the opportunity to enter the NFL in 2022 so that they could compete for a national championship in 2023. Many of these guys were transfers; Jordan Travis is one of them. FSU went 23-4 in the past two seasons with a few of those transfers on a team that was still considered by some to be in a rebuilding phase. You can't go 23-4 with transfers added to your team and have a bad culture problem. Those players came back because of how good the culture is. They went undefeated and had the opportunity to compete for a national championship, only to have it taken away. To say that players are selfish for opting out is just ignorant. Many of those players who opted out fought through injuries and put their bodies on the line for a chance to win a natty with their bros. Opting out was a personal decision that has to do with their future. It had nothing to do with not caring or being there for the boys they went to war with. The season ended on December 3rd. If going 13-0 doesn’t mean anything, then why risk injury and potentially forfeit the chance to make millions by playing in an exhibition game that means nothing?

I'm a UGA fan, and I can't brag about that score, because of the circumstances, I still believe that UGA would've won the game if FSU didn't have all those opt outs, but I don't think it would've been by 60 points tho... FSU got screwed, it's as simple as that, the game of football is a TEAM SPORT, it's one of the only sports that can not be played without depending on the guys next to you. FSU won the last few games and their conference championship with every man on that field wearing a Seminole uniform. This sport is supposed to be about a team making it thru all the odds and adversity to come out on top, I thought that was supposed to be what champions are made of. They won their last couple games after losing their most important player, that's overcoming adversity rite there. It wasn't pretty, but the game of football wasn't meant to be pretty and finesse. They did everything they were supposed to do and the committee said that their TEAM isn't good enough because of 1 player, but they can turn a blind eye to the cheating at Michigan, and agree that Texas deserves to be number 3 because Alabama beat UGA and you can't move Bama up without moving Texas up as well. I can promise you that if Jalen Milroe, Quin Ewers, or JJ McCarthy season ended the same way as Jordan Travis, they would've never moved those teams, and would've been praising them for there TEAM VICTORIES. Don't worry, as long as this committee is controlling things they will find a way to create controversy in the 12 team playoff as well

Thank you for speaking the TRUTH! FSU had nothing left to prove after the NCAA said that nothing done on the field matters. There is no reason to leave things subjective other than continuing to let bias dictate who even has a chance at playing.

So by that standard they just shouldn’t play anymore. Guess they should just sit next year out. 😂. No instead they look like toddlers and now own the worst loss in Bowl history. This shit made Norvell look like a weak leader .

This was their last shot at a title before going to the league. You are allowed to agree with “shut up and play where tell you to and risk your NFL career for a pointless scrimmage” but many people don’t. @ericjayy5113 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I seen that show when Paul Finebaum said that. What is especially annoying about he said is that he's acting some kind of trick was played, they always overvalue what Bama does, the past 2 seasons Alabama has been living dangerously, they lost 2 games last season, and could've easily been 4 games, and this season they could've easily had 4 losses as well. I understand the greatness of Alabama and Nick Saban, I absolutely respect all that they have done, but Bama is not the same for now, and it's obvious, but now Paul wants to back track and say maybe Bama wasn't as good as we thought, they can miss me with that BS

The ref should have review the incompletion call and over turn the 4th down completion. That's at least 7 points swing. Bama lost to Texas badly at home. Texas lost to 2 loss Oklahoma team. Georgia defeating a fractured FSU roster, most of whom didn't even play the season that led FSU to 13-0, is not even remotely a good reason for Georgia to be in the playoffs. Georgia lost. Bama lost. Texas lost. FSU did not. FSU was told that its previous 13 wins, one of which was a beat down of #5 LSU to start the season, didn't even matter in the decision to consider them for playoff contention. But for some unknown and bizarre reason, the entire college football world has locked in to this ridiculous notion that the ONLY game that mattered on FSU's schedule was a BOWL GAME with Georgia. All other games on their schedule were dismissed as irrelevant. But this ONE game mattered! And FSU players responded appropriately with, "Well if the first 13 didn't matter, then neither does this one. BYE!"

As a UGA fan, I couldn't agree more. So many people wanna say that the committee "Got it right"... because of the outcome of the orange bowl game, but failing to realize that if FSU were in the playoff, then none of their starters would've opted out, and the QB wouldn't have entered the transfer portal. The cfp committee created this situation, it's all on them because they are trying so hard to over-correct for the debacle they created in the playoff last season because not moving TCU a single spot in the rankings at all when they lost their conference championship game is the reason they had a 58 point blowout loss in a national championship game, and it's also the reason UGA feels snubbed as well. The committee essentially created the exact problem again. This time they moved a team out of a playoff spot that they rightfully earned, and because of it a lot of players decided to not play or transfer, and also match them up against a pissed off UGA team, and that's how you get a 60 point blowout, and then wanna use this as a justified reason to why FSU shouldn't have been in the playoff. The blatant disrespect to people's intelligence and common sense is absolutely insane

ESPN must lose broadcasting rights to all bowl games. Fox and CBS are to gain them.

I think one thing you have to acknowledge is that the snub was unprecedented -- and frankly never going to happen again (we are going to a 12 team playoff next year). When I say unprecedented -- I mean it from the standpoint that the college football sport as a whole has moved to be essentially a pro-sport (players are getting paid more than some semi-pro teams). I think the expectations that have been built up with that and the fact that TV ratings drove the committee's decision to move up a pair of one-loss teams ahead of FSU and allow a team accused of blatant cheating have caused tremendous emotional and mental pain for these FSU athletes that is beyond what I would expect a coaching staff to help assuage. I mean, at least with Georgia -- they are out cuz they lost. Others can fall on those acceptable outcomes -- not FSU. I think that sort of damage to an athletes psychology was not only not taken into account, but the magnitude of that pain was not fully comprehended -- especially at this level. That is what the media and entertainment industry will not acknowledge.

Yes, FS would have probably gotten creamed by Wash but they deserved the chance to get creamed by Washington. And yes, Bama beat Ga by a field goal after being gifted a TD on the catch that wasn’t. But I blame Kirby for that. He should have challenged it because the replay would have shown it was Ga ball but instead Bama goes on to score. I say creamed only because that is the prevailing argument that they would be. You’re right, maybe they wouldn’t be. The thing about college football is anything can happen on any given game day. I haven’t really watched FSU this year so I don’t know how good their secondary is and from what I have seen from Washington and their deep ball QB is a team definitely needs a good secondary against them. I do agree with a lot of other people who have said that Bama isn’t as “good” when they don’t have a SEC ref team backing them up. Yeah, every fan base claims the refs were bias sometimes but the favoritism shown Alabama has been quite obvious for years, with few exceptions, no matter who they played. But even with the bad/missed calls Ga did make a mistake or two that Bama cashed in on. I still believe despite the results of one game Ga was the better team for the year and most agree. But it’s college football and the better team doesn’t always win. As far as FSU, unfortunately we will never know how they would have done.

The two things wrong with bowl games is that there's too many of them for businesses to get on tv to sponsor themselves rather than promote football and that only a handful of bowls that are not NY6 bowls matter. In fact, sometimes the NY6 bowls that were not semifinals didn't matter. A lot of the issues with less interest in bowl games falls on the media, specifically ESPN due to having broadcast rights of nearly every bowl game. For instance, every season, College Gameday always does a show from the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day even if it is not a semifinal. They don't do the same thing for the other NY6 bowls when they're on New Year's Day. I understand that the Rose Bowl is the oldest played bowl game. However, for some people of didn't regions, myself included growing up in Tennessee, we don't care about the Rose Bowl in non Semifinal years nor did we care about it if it was not the National Championship Game during the first half of the BCS era when the BCS bowl game WAS the National Championship Game (2001 & 2005 seasons). Historically, we in the South and SEC country have not cared about the Rose Bowl in the post-WWII era. So how should we fix it? The three things that must be done to at least have a shot at bringing back some level of interest back into bowl games is get rid of meaningless bowls like Boca Raton, Myrtle Beach, and Frisco Bowl, just to name a few. Next, raise the bowl eligibility from 6 wins to (bare minimum) 8 wins, no one should be rewarded for finishing at .500. Thirdly, get rid of conference tie-ins for none NY6/CFP bowls (now that the four team playoff era is over) and have selection be based off of the oldest played and have each bowl game pick whoever is left from the bowl eligibility pool as you go down the line for each bowl. Do that and, if all else fails, at least you attempted to fix this issue. Although, and this applies to college football as a whole, get a governing over all of college football like Roger Goodell in the NFL or Adam Silver in the NBA.

    I agree 100%
All that mental gymnastics about how FSU couldn't be competitive w/o their starting QB... Michigan ended up playing against a QBR of 45.1 anyway.
I'm not sure if it was irony, or God's divine justice.... but all the Bama trolling about the orange bowl, then losing against a very imperfect Michigan team (muffed punts, missed kicks) set up a GLORIOUS jinx.
Rules of college football trash talk jinx:
    1. keep your mouth shut about early rivalry losses until you teams wins
    2. Never say the kicker 'hasn't missed in 30 attempts' right before a critical FG attempt.

Georgia lost to a team that already lost in the playoff therefore they have no argument. (Bama got dominated at the los)
If FSU had gotten in I believe their defense wouldve kept it close but I dont think they wouldve beat Michigan
Now If FSU had JT I believe they would've been the 3 seed and definitely could've beat Washington but I don't think FSU is good enough at the los to beat Michigan especially their oline (which has been an issue) vs Michigan dline.
None of the NY6 bowl games meant anything as its my understanding that the 3 SEC teams had no opt outs except BB and the 3 teams they played were missing several all conference n AA talents. They're exhibition games.

An SEC team was going into the playoff, no matter what. When Bama beat UGA, FSU got screwed in that moment. Had UGA won, the four undefeated teams go in. Simple. But when Bama won, and given that an SEC had to be in the playoff, Texas got in so that Bama could be justified. The path of least resistance was to say, "well Jordan Travis is out, so ..." The decision was between Texas and FSU. Not between Bama and FSU. So, put Texas at number three so that the focus would be off of them. Very smartly played.
