How to make potato flour at home th-cam.com/video/PjJ4ev17Xnw/w-d-xo.html
😂😂 I’m laughing because I just thought of the idea of making my own garri at home instead of making a trip to African market each time. I thought, if anyone has recipes for making garri from scratch, it’s going to be on TH-cam. I HONESTLY didn’t expect to find a video, a very detailed one at that, showing how to make yours. THANK YOU! I de go buy my own cassava now.
Haha 😂
You just made my day! Grab some cassava and make some garri asap. Enjoy!
Feel free to check out other interesting videos on my channel e.g how to make Poundo flour, food processing etc.
Best wishes
So, how do we get it ready for eating? We don't have garri in Uganda. We just have cassava flour, which we either mix with millet or sorghum flour and mingle bread out of the flour with boiling water, or we use for making snacks called kabalagala (Ugandan pan cakes), or it's mingled alone in boiling water to make a kind of bread. (Our cassava is simply peeled, chopped into pieces bigger than what the blender required, sun dried and milled into flour.)
How do I prepare Garri ready to eat from the flour above? I would like to make it; I love the fact that starch is squeezed out
Oh my God !
This is amazing, am a Nigerian leaving in Ugandan and there is no garri here
@@jacquelinea2110
You boil hot water, when the hot water is fully boiled you measure one cup of garri into a small water that will just be same measurement with the garri (make sure the garri is leveled up with water of equal amount )Set aside for 5 minutes then turn/mix it. You can eat with any soup of he choice!
Am here in Uganda
Note: you can add more hot water after its too strong for you to swallow
Wow, another super healthy recipe, cassava is great, so many good nutrients! Thanks my friend for another great share 🌺🌸🌹
Many thanks, gorgeous
I have never seen this before, but we also don't grow cassava here in Canada, so it's not that popular. Very interesting how you do so many things from scratch. That's so awesome.
I’m glad you’ve now seen it. The good news is that Walmarts in Canada sell cassava (mainly referred to as yucca). Many thanks for your kind words 😍
You can get cassava at United Super Market in Canada
@@rianotiyabo7687 I don't have that market where I live in Ontario

@@Globalfoodbook1 I already did, we have a project to make garri next two weeks from now and me and my entire team and are practicing from your videos from our different homes. Because of how simple it looks, I Subscribed immediately.
@@uchannel7892 Oh my goodness! I'm excited that hear this from you. Many thanks for appreciating my work and I hope things go perfectly well for you and your team.
But do bear in mind that if you intend to produce the garri in a bigger quantity then you will need a bigger frying pan and utensils etc.
Also, the method for producing large scale garri is slightly different from this.
Best wishes

Nicely done dear ❤❤ ❤❤❤❤
Thanks 🙏
Nice ❤️🥰
Thanks 🤗
the further pressing after the fermentation that is done usually is omitted here maybe because it is only a small quantity so it is easy to remove the water by toasting the gari on fire. For larger quantities you definitely need a press
Absolutely 💯
We eat cassava alot in the northern uganda but we don't know how to make Garri
Glad to hear and thanks for watching my video. Share this video with your Ugandan people so that they can learn how to make garri. Garri is a staple food and some of your people can even earn a living from it.

Garri is easy to make but for health precautions. You need to dry on the sun for 3 days before frying.
Really
No

Спасибо за очень нудное видео))

I had no idea yellow garri was white with palm oil 😱
Yes, that’s how it is made. There is always a first time to everything
WHY ON EARTH would you DISCARD the water after squeezing???? I leave it in the bowl overnight, THEN discard the water and I SAVE the starch. Tapioca starch. VERY useful in cooking AND also expensive to buy!!! I'm speechless. KEEP IT from now on!
Yes you can use the water to process starch and I did that in this video th-cam.com/video/lLFPAJG1jMg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-3_x7Ofro-WhB0E9
Apparently I didn’t need the starch at the time of making this video but should have highlighted it. Thanks for coming around.
