  • Lightroom Classic version 12.3 offers many new features, both in interface design and post production workflow.
While everyone is talking about the new Denoise AI feature, as well they should. Are we missing another powerful workflow tool that has been updated in this version of LRC?
On today's episode of Photo Kitchen, we take a deep dive to see what all these new features offer, even the ones not getting all the press.

Thanks for this! Full masks can serve additional purposes. You can make any changes, not just curves, and be able to easily turn them on or off or scale them on the fly. I wouldn’t be surprised if Adobe saw this video and suddenly came of with Adjustment Masks that work like adjustment layers in Photoshop.

Thank you for watching. I would be shocked if anyone from Adobe sees this, but I love your confidence Stuart.

Some great tips, thanks. I’d love to see the ability to use the HSL panel in a mask.

That AI noise control is awesome!

It is really amazing, and I am glad to see Adobe bring in features that only plugins used to offer.

All good. Backslash (\) was and still is an easy way to look at before and after edits.

Great tips, particularly the use of masking with the curves - yeah, nobody else has talked about that so THANKS! In terms of C1, biggest thing I'd like to see added to LR is the use of real overlays in tethered capture. Would be hugely useful for product shots and there just isn't a useful workaround [but also not worth the $$ to me to buy C1 just for that one feature].

You are welcome, and I think LRC needs massive help in tethered shooting to be sure.

Around the 7-minute mark with the denoise results, there seem to be some artifacts on her cheek. Just curious if that is actual image data or an AI denoise leftorver.

I think it is probably an artifact from the video. Thank you for watching.

The real subject being ignored is how to use the Raw Details function. Tell us about that next!

I will follow up on this soon. I want to play a bit more and see if there is any difference in doing the reduction first or second.

Well of course no one is talking about it. If you talk about it, you might get on Double Secret Probation, and then where would you be? Up the dam pixel river without a stylus, that's for damn sure. I mean, good lord, there's artifacts all over place here, and there as big as the Rodents of Unusual Size.

My post production is very much like a digital fire swamp!

If you stopped repeating yourself and stopped saying the same thing in different ways, you could reduce this video by two thirds. For goodness sake, stick to the point and cut out the gabble!!!
