  • Understand where speed comes from. It’s not fast wrists, we want fast hands.
    Let me help you get a effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook.
    Long and straight is every ones goal but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill.
    If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can get better.
    Find what inspires you. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV.
    Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
    Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
    Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots.
    The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it.

    The body core / weight shift SUPPORTS the "arm speed" path, (the arms "win the race"), to and through the ball (Down the target line). That makes better sense of the sequence (to me). I hope that makes sense and helps to others. It has been very difficult learning the sequence of the swing (and "Speed Stacking") from right-hand instructors while being a left-hand golfer. Thank you Mr. Edblad you express it as clear as I have heard it. Your instruction has helped free up my swing. And freeing up the swing mechanics my body is trying to do naturally.

    Just reached another speed peak copying/practicing what you coach. Will concentrate more on extending that arm to see if I can jump ahead a bit more. This is getting scary-good. Again, my irons are great, now, so leaves time to concentrate on your driver speed lessons. You were right, it doesn't happen over night! It doesn't take long to see results though. Fewer thoughts buzzing between the ears. Thanks!

    I’d love to hear your comment on adding downward body motion to the fast arms/hands. Like splitting logs, that seems to be where the incredible speed “assist” comes from. It’s hard in your swing to understand how much downward body you put into your fast hands.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know that many try to do that but I don't. I want my arms to move fast in relationship to your body. The most important muscles I want to use is the muscles in the shoulder who is responsible of moving the arm. The main body will always move up/down when you move your arms but I don't want to much of that because that is power, not speed.

    Oh. 💡🎯. Yes. Now I get it. No wonder one day practicing I carried 2 consecutive 8 irons 172 yds. My norm is literally 135 maybe 140 max. So my friend asked what did you do? I said I swung the club faster back and down because the club I used was much heavier feeling so I knew where it was in space. Moral of the story? Swing your arms faster which creates more hand speed. And get heavy enough clubs so you feel the weight at the end of the stick.

    The kinetic chain is real and fast arms and hands are at the end of the kenetic chain. If we were lowered into a barrel of concrete up to our chest how much distance would be lost ? It starts with the recentering of the lowerbody then lower body rotation, upper torso rotation then arms and hands. This sequential order multiplies clubhead speed. We see it in every sport from baseball pitchers , tennis players and pro golfers.
    Thanks Marcus

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are many things that tribute but my firm belief is that arms are the biggest speed generators we have. I don't know how much I would loose chest high in concrete but sitting on a stol I loose about 10%.

    Marcus, been following you for a while now. In this video you explain how HANDS get FAST; you demonstrate Malaska's example, which demonstrates something Manuel de la Torre spoke about as well: Swinging the ARMS (anatomical arm, meaning from shoulder to elbow). His father was his mentor, and his fathers mentor was Earnest Jones. Jones believed in the hands, but Manuel de la Torre "discovered" that if you stop the arms, well the hands are not going anywhere. So if I may Summarize your analysis: Hand speed is created by the arms.

      Hi Aldo. Hitting from the ground/grass I look at a point just past the ball to focus more on landing correctly. If you hit the hosel too often we need to get your impact to move more out towards the toe. Your "mental" impact should be on the toe.

    It's true that fast arms make fast hands. But what makes the arms fast? My understanding from your video is that I should pull down with my entire left arm as fast as I can. Is that correct? The reason I ask is that from many other videos I've been taught that you can't make your arms go fast enough that way. The only way to get maximum arm speed is to let your arms do nothing (except hold on to the club) and use your body to generate the arm speed that results in fast hand speed. You and Mike Malaska have me totally confused.
