Great last shot to end with Leslie. Liked all the too-ing and fro-ing as well. You did well to get it all. Very Enjoyable.

Certainly was a lot of driving around. That final spot is a favourite and the driver told me today he'd seen me but didn't recognise it was me!

I'm sure the 57 was helping a little, but the sight of the Black 5 hauling that long rake of coaches just underlines the class' justifiable reputation of being "go anywhere, do anything" locos.
Also, interesting to see the "musical chairs" (or rails!) being played between the two charters. They may be two generations apart, but both are completely charming and elegant trains.
Watching her move off without any wheel slippage underlines the lessons Stanier learned regarding how to get the best out of a 4-10-0 whilst at the GWR, and how he put them into practice at the LMS.

The diesels on the rear are to provide electrical power to the coaches (air con etc) and many steam drivers do not want them pushing unless absolutely requested. But I agree the Black 5 shows it is very capable!

Great Video and Locations Leslie, you can see the banking capabilities of the Pendelino in the first clips. and the passing coaches on the Upperby were very very close I thought

Thanks. The first location is pretty good for seeing the tilting.

Really good locations on this one Les You chose the right spot going to St Nicolas bridge and getting both charters together.

Thanks. I didn't expect to see the two trains alongside each other there. I only just got there in time from the previous location!

Another enjoyable miscellany of out-of-station sequences, Les. I'm repeating myself, but the location at Wreay is next to unbeatable. There is something I've been pondering recently. What is the reason why terminating excursions use Platform 3 and not 1. I'm sure there is a logical reason, but I've not worked it out yet. Can anyone answer that query? Thanks. R

the view at Wreay is a favourite - its only downside I cant recognise the locos as they pass - too distant. The excursions use P3 mostly and the northbpund Anglo Scottish trains can continue to use P1. I think sometimes its down to the Signallers on the day

A good location for the first shot of the steamer - minimised the effect of the catenary which spoils so many WCML views. Two charters at the shunt neck - when did that last happen?
The Northern train you filmed at Denton Crossing was the one after mine. We were, after all, talking on the Citadel platform just five minutes before my train left!

I realised after seeing your vid re the Newcastle train. It was a surprise to see the CME stock on the shunting neck
