Good video breakdown of the cost! My personal belief is that if someone builds their own Fox rather than buy one already “done” a person appreciates it more because of the blood, sweat and tears they invested into it!

The shit adds up, really quick. I paid $3300 for my car in 2019, and right now I'm in it over $10,000 easy, and that's with no labor because I've done everything myself and with help from a friend. Would probably be lucky to get $7500 for it because the paint is complete dogshit! But hopefully, it won't be long before that's taken care of. Love the channel, I see it's growing pretty good, here lately, especially

This is why you learn to build cars/ trucks..and buy stuff you can fix..I enjoy building carbureted vehicles.i can build just about anything to pass a safety inspection and be driving down the road for 1500 bucks..but I build for myself so my time is free cause that's what I enjoy doing...
Its cheaper to buy one done then to build it yourself. But for most of us its the build we enjoy.

Dealership in Lake, Sumter, Marion counties in central Florida are around $140 an hour. Smaller shops and independents are around $100. Finding someone to do a heater core/evaporator, that you trust, in your Fox….probably priceless lol.

I got a coyote swap running and driving this month. I had been procrastinating on adding up the cost because I know that I went over budget on a few things. I ended up having multiple people trying to buy the car in the first week, so I had to do some bare bones math. I wouldn't buy this car at the price it would have to be, but it's mine, built right, with the stuff I wanted. Even with no labor cost, the numbers add up quick.
Your build sounds awesome! Unfortunately I'm also over budget with my project Fox. I think it's almost impossible to stay on budget with these cars.
This car/build reminded me of those old cars shows back in the day like Gas Monkey Garage, etc where there's a deadline with an unrealistic amount of time to pull off said project. Of course, a lot of those shows were fake, but it's cool to see someone actually have similar circumstances and actually pull it off.
The SB Fox was a cool project. Look forward to seeing the vert project.

It was an interesting project, I still can't get my head around why you painted the engine bay turquoise. On Marketplace lots of Foxes coming out of the woodwork, I dunno if people need to free up some cash or what? 3 decent notches where I live in the last week. One a nice white on black/grey (I know TIP loves those) Kenne Bell on stock engine looks like.
I'd guess the Foxbody wave is dipping and people are unloading because some are less foxbody guys than they are about seeking out what's popular. Mix in the fact that you need to constantly wrench in order to keep the car in top shape, the realization is setting in for people.
@@pimpovic2 Yeah I wonder. One of the things I like about them IS the wrenchability imho and I ain't no master mechanic but some can't be bothered...I can't even imagine taking my car to a commercial shop right now. I watch marketplace everyday for lots of different cars and alot of them aren't moving.
My car's a Shit Box but has over 25K of goodies that makes it fun and exciting to drive.. and when I pass it down to my son's it will continue to be modified and who knows by then.. long live the Shit Boxes! 😂💪👍
