Shelia Oh my God there's so many, I can't just say a few, Dominican Republic is actually safe, remember that you just have to be careful the same way you gotta be any place in the world, and the best way to do so is buying tours packages with guides, my favorite place is Bahia de las Aguilas it is a little far from civilization and is 100% nature beauty that your eyes won't believe, also Samana is so beautiful is incredible, Punta Cana is another level too, I just won't recommend that you go into the hoods cause is the same way for me here in The USA I wouldn't go certain places cause they're obviously not safe. 😉
Spent 6 years there. This is the Dominican I know and love. I go back as often as I can and hope to live there permanently again one day.

I put my headphone on and cry, thinking how beautiful DR is, and to know how corrupted the govorment is, this island is so rich and so poor at the same time. Dominican Republic one day you will be free from corruption just like I remenber you!!!! Oliver nice work
Blacks are poor in every country, it has nothing to do with political "corruption". In DR the lightest region is the most developed, CIBAO, while the southwest near the Haitian border is the poorest. Tell me why is that? Go to any country and the darkest people are the poorest worldwide. In the USA the poorest people are black, in Brazil the poorest people are black, in Colombia the poorest people are black, etc, etc, etc....Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, and is also the blackest country. The best solution is for the poor black people to stop having so many children they can't feed. Only thing that can fix poverty is population control and free condoms and legalization of abortions and sterilizations. Your crying won't sold anything. Lol

@@saldemarrr Every country has the politicians it deserve, if you keep electing the same corrupt people then who is to blame for your stupidity. The same party has been in office for like 2 decades now. In DR people are elected by name recognition alone, even if you're a known thief you will still have idiots supporting you in this country if you're popular. Who's fault is that? Think of cause and effect, stupid people elect bad politicians and you can't fix stupid. Now every country has corruption, but if you're self-sufficient and intelligent enough you don't need the government to feed you and survive in the first place. Tell me why the Cibao region in DR has a higher quality of life even though we receive less government funds and support then La Capital. Tell me why Cibao region has a more advanced hospital than anywhere in the island, Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago, Tell me why we have a better University than anywhere in the island, we have better cultural centers, better infrastructure, cleaner towns, etc..That's all because there's simply better people with better ancestral and cultural stock, thus the Cibao region is better than anywhere else in the island. Smart productive people produce smart productive people, and low-life parasites produce low-life parasites, with few exceptions. If you're some illiterate, unemployed, bum that can't afford to feed your children then stop reproducing and bringing more poverty, misery, and criminals to the world. That's a simple concept. You can't have it both ways if you want the government programs like in COMMUNIST countries then you have to have also have population control, like in Cuba they have many government programs for the impoverished black population there, but they also have sterilization programs to keep the blacks and poor people at lower numbers outside the cities.
@mark daniels Blacks are poor everywhere, not just in the Caribbean and the Americas. Blacks are also poorer than foreigners even in their own African countries, go search a list of the richest people in Sub-sarahan Africa and most will be Arabs or Indians. Everybody knows blacks have been enslaved and exploited, but tell me how did blacks end up in that position in the first place, what makes blacks poorer than other races? Why have blacks been discriminated and enslaved by other groups? You keep mentioning white people but every other race has also subjugated blacks throughout history, the first people to enslave blacks where Arabs, Berbers, and Jews. Even the Native Americans enslaved blacks when they were brought to the New World. So it's like anyone that comes into contact with blacks has made them their servant. Now tell me what is your solution to your race being at the bottom in every corner of the globe? There will always be racism and discrimination, that's human nature, and people will always look out for their own ethnic/racial group and tribe, while taking advantage of outside groups. Survival of the fittest. So what are you going to ask people to "play fair" in order for blacks to succeed, white people have gone soft, but now you have the Chinese setting up shop in African countries, and doing some modern colonization of their own. Do you think Chinese will be less or more racist than the white people? Lol
