Man... this bring back memories. i live in the south suburbs and whenever i go to the city i am always amazed by the beautiful skyline. sears tower, 311 south Wacker it's just amazing.
Dolton to Downtown via the Dan Ryan Expressway, Thank You! I drove this route in the morning on my way to work for 5 years 40 years ago, and have long since moved from the Chicago area to another state. Rush hours were TRULY an interesting and often frustrating experience.
Beautiful piece, Wanderluster! I've been a south-sider almost all my life and rides along I-57 and the up Dan Ryan has been a way of travel for as long as I can remember! Thanks for a beautiful video! :-)
wow i lived on sibley 50 yrs ago thats my exit 57 was still west for me lived on sibley east of halsted a few blockd between state and wabash red house across the street from the car wash red brick house wow dude thx for the drive
This helped a lot, I don't live in Chicago I love in Baltimore,MD but I'm learning to drive and this makes it seem like it's easy to drive on an expressway
Dan Ryan…expressway from hell. Grew up in Bridgeport, not far from Comisky….back in the 70’s and 80’s. Avoided the interstates at all costs. Moved a long time ago…they look improved some. Don’t get back like I used to so, I’m thanking for the share. Moved to Los Angeles and if you can believe it…the freeways there are even worse. LA isn’t a true grid city like Chicago….you have to have a car there, but not Chicago. Miss the city sometimes….it was nothing but fun in the 80’s 💯
@@thewanderluster470 I would watch it. Do it on a sunny week day. I don't think there is any recent morning rush hour on inbound Kennedy. Most are really old videos
Ohh it seems so big city😮Tank you for sharing. I would like driving from Downtown Chicago to Hickory Hill, I Will be in vacation next Summer & I woul see how that's look. Hi from Morocco🎉
Welcome to the US! I have two videos of Hickory Hills. 95th street, which drives through Hickory Hills, and Archer Avenue which comes close. I hope you have a fun vacation!
Man I live in Baltimore I-895 I-695 I thought it was worse thing ever, but I road thru I-90 to get to ID Rexburg made a pit stop in Chicago IL for some Harold chicken got on the express way omg it was a nightmare riding thru Kennedy Express way cars doing 90-95mph driving thru that expressway made me more better as a defense driver and more focus at the same time
I'm probably going to drive from Boston to Minneapolis next year to visit family.... Chicago looks very cool with their skyline.... traffic and crime is something else, though the last time I drove through Chicago was in 2012...
Crime is actually not as bad as people make it to be…it’s bad, but there’s also 2 million and some change living here. I live in Lawndale on the SW side and I feel perfectly safe.
I grew up in Chicago and learning how to drive is not that easy, but if you can drive on the interstate you can drive in other big cities such as Miami and Atlanta.
You make the highway drive look like a breeze. We must have had the day where people drove over 20 miles+ above speed limit, large trucks casually switched lanes, bumper traffic, and accidents common. As noted by the morning news.
I've taken I-94 into the Chicago loop maybe 40-50 times and I'll tell you why this video must be fake: The driver was moving consistently more than 50% of the time and didn't experience a dozen near hits or dodge a single actual bullet. Driving into Chicago has never been anything short of a literal fucking nightmare.
I live in CHICAGO IL but I'm not in town right now I'm in INDIANA with laboggie just out for a 80 minute drive to SAVANAH GA to drop brie off oh that sign said welcome to LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY oh its 12:00am on Monday 😯😯 it's tomorrow it's a Monday morning on a Sunday night
Depends on what you want. I'm currently in the burbs but you should expect to pay about 1,000 for something really basic in the city. Location matters though so its balance between, work/school commute, neighborhood living style and your wallet. Good luck!
your camera is zoomed out too much and doesn't capture the actual human eye view of this approach. the visual effect is far more stunning and the skyline doesn't appear this far away. I'd zoom in a little.
I still have to shoot the skyway. I'm going to try a different zoom on that route. The second half of that route overlaps with the route in this video so we will get a good comparison of the different zooms
Typical -- stuck in the left lane oblivious to everyone, forcing others to pass on the right. I drive this almost every day. Do us all a favor and MOVE OVER!
The left lane is cloest to center which gives the viewer the most proportional view of the road and views ahead as possible. I always drive with the flow of traffic which is demonstrated in multiple videos of mine. I can't control someone if they want to go 100mph and then pass me. Im not stuck, its on purpose. Also, the left lane doesnt have semis which would block the view and ruin the video. Perhaps think more before you comment

Wow...Chicago is HUGE! Amazing looking skyline, too.
It’s the best!
NYC is huge, Chicago is a regular sized city
No, it's not

Once you get used to it driving on the highway is easier than driving in the suburbs and cities tbh
Lol i just got my license and drove in Chicago for the first time. It is easy. Just be aware of your surroundings.
My commute to work everyday..... Love my city 💙🖤

Prettiest skyline in America. I love viewing it from the Chicago Skyway via Northbound.

Yeah city driving is different, camera does make me look closer than I am as well
Busiest road in the country.

Yes, I agree. Interstates are intimidating for some drivers. It's get easier with practice

People hog up the left lane for no reason as well.

I've just now learned that IDOT is planning to resurface I-57 from I-294 to Halsted St. this year. I'm very happy to hear that as it's badly needed.
Hey, can you please do the Chicago Skyway, when you get a chance? Great video, btw.
That's coming up next, I should have it up soon

@@thewanderluster470 ok that's not bad...is there a train that's goes into Indiana...that's where I'll be working?
I know of the South Shore Line in northern Indiana
nice
You need a 2nd person moving the camera to show the skyline, not just straight ahead
Will you volunteer to lay on the roof as I drive at 80+ mph down the highway?
People always say NY and LA is worse. As a Chicago native who has spent time in all of those cities, no. No.
Chicago is an absolute shit show
Is it worse than Miami or Houston?
I love Chicago, but don't you do other cities? Maybe I missed them.
Yes, I plan on doing other cities in the near future

My interstate is 80 in CHICAGO I'm on Wednesday AVENUE

That is i57 i90
You're right. It ends just before 95th so I just left it out of the title
Not a good driver.
