My kind of town. I had the good fortune living in a 34th floor lakefront condo overlooking the lake and downtown for a few years. I was able to watch them put lights in Wrigley Field from the dining room. Just being home was an exciting daily show.
What impresses me about Chicago is how clean it is for such a large city. It’s actively kept clean and seems relatively safe as long as you aren’t in south side which is pretty much what all Chicagoans said
@@lamar3697 You are so right! These people dont realize just how big and diverse the South Side is. Some south Side neighborhoods are dangerous and others are perfectly safe. Englewood is not the same as Hyde Park, which is not the same as China Town, which is not the same as Beverly, which is not the same as South Shore, which is not the same as Hegewisch. Englewood is notorious for violent crime and I used to go there all the time for work. I would walk from the train through the neighborhood to attend meeting at various public schools in Englewood. I never had any problems because I wasn't involved in gangs, drugs or organized crime.

@@james8156If you lowered taxes things would get worse, higher taxes on higher incomes means less income inequality, more funding for education, transportation, and growth, and it means a more worker owned city because the rich would be pushed out so that workers could boom once again.
Chicago has it all, and housing 1/3 the price as the other two world class city's in the US. If I were young again looking to start my young career, seeking a real city lifestyle, or were an artist. Chicago at the top of that list. One of the very best city's in North America.
Love this city! It is a cleaner, nicer, cheaper and friendlier version of New York. Where else can you leave your office and be at the beach in ten minutes? Winters can be tough, but summers here are awesome! Beautiful parks are available in every neighborhood. The taxes are high, but housing is cheaper than other large cities. The crime is primarily in a few specific neighborhoods, and I always feel safe in mine. Great place to live.

I was born and raised in Chicago (not far from the Sox stadium and Solider Field). I now have lived in NYC for over 17 years. After watching this video you’ve made me want to move back home! Great job.
I passed through Chicago once and didn't get to see much of it. The day was windy and gloomy. It was a bit cold even for late summer/early fall. I'm from South Texas and prefer the warmer weather. But this video gave me a good look at the city. I was surprised. I didn't realize how beautiful the place is, with great architecture and lots of things to do and see. It does look cleaner, safer and more manageable than New York. Chicago is still too big, too crowded and too cold for my taste, but I think it is underrated. All the movies seem to take place either in New York or LA. Yet, here is a city that offers the best of both cities.
NYC is actually quite a bit safer, but Chicago is very safe in all the neighborhoods you'd want to visit, which are the north, northwest, downtown, and south loop neighborhoods. I have lived in Chicago for 37 years, take transit and walk when and where I please, and have never had a problem. Normal vigilance such as a prudent person should exercise anywhere will keep you safe here.
You have one of the most comprehensive videos of a city. I definitely would recommend your channel they will visit New York, Taiwan, Chicago etc. So many helpful information. Bravo

Finally back to what you do best - showcasing a city with all its virtues and vices. Very informative and slick. Chicago lives up to its reputation of being the windy city with gusts which you can lean into if not get carried away. Outside of the cold months it's definitely a beautiful city with a lot of green spaces but also enough of concrete to give competition to the big Apple as far as construction goes. As someone who’s from and even currently lives in the south side, I honestly must say the south side is not that bad. Bronzeville is actually thEE 2nd most historic African American neighborhood in the country after Harlem in New York. Chicago has the best food, and some of the most gorgeous architectural homes in the city. Englewood actually was at one time the busiest place in Chicago outside of the loop. The SEARS corporation had its flagship store in englewood right on 63rd and Halsted (I believe it was halsted). People should honestly come to the south side, it’s not that bad as the media portrays. There are areas that aren’t the best but it’s not the most dangerous place in America, trust me. What can happen on the south side can happen anywhere in America and the world. Besides that, I think this guy did a great job showing the city, This is world class city, a welcoming city. Come visit and don’t be scared.
I've been saying that for years. The South Side is not as bad as some try to make it out to be. Yes, there are parts of the South Side that are bad, but the whole South Side is not bad. There are parts of the South Side that are indeed beautiful; Hyde Park, Kenwood, Beverly, Mount Greenwood, Pill Hill, west Morgan Park, and small sections like Jeffrey Manor and west Chatham. Not to mention the South Side is home to one of the top universities on the globe, the University of Chicago. That school gets ranked with the likes of Oxford, Yale, Princeton, and Harvard. The problem is when something bad happens on the South Side, the media simply says it happened on "the South Side". That means they're connecting the South Side with something negative and over time that gives people an inaccurate portrayal of the entire South Side.

I visited Chicago in 1991, and have always wanted to get back there. I loved it then. Such a beautiful and interesting city. I started in New York and worked my way west. The difference between the two was stark, maybe even more so back then; it was before Giuliani was mayor of New York and while I really loved it there too, it was not safe and the people whilst not rude, did not go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The people in Chicago though, were warm and friendly and even when I walked into a couple of bad neighbourhoods, I didn't feel like I was in danger or that I needed to get the hell out of there, like I did in New York's Harlem and Spanish Harlem. Am hoping to take my partner to Chicago next year as she has never been. I will definitely this video to get some tips on where to take her!

It’s actively kept clean and seems relatively safe as long as you aren’t in south side which is pretty much what all Chicagoans said
Hello?
Southside not that bad bro at all
@@lamar3697 You are so right!
Holle dear

Hello there!! Hope to be friends with you.
Chicago is my city, I lived here for 25 years.Chicago is famous mainly for its modern architecture and urban layout. The center of Chicago is called the Loop because the CTA railway line runs around it. The most famous is the world's talles skyscraper, the Sears Tower, with 110 floors and a height of 443m. Thank youn for the beautiful video and virtual tour from Chicago, Illinois.

Vote out all those corrupt politicians and lower the taxes and things could get better.
We just have dog shit people that live in it

Hello
@@james8156If you lowered taxes things would get worse, higher taxes on higher incomes means less income inequality, more funding for education, transportation, and growth, and it means a more worker owned city because the rich would be pushed out so that workers could boom once again.
I've lived here for over 20 years and thought you did a great job showcasing our amazing city! 👏
It's alot different I agree with ny being more expensive though we have more attractions to visit though in NY in the tourist section
@@Guerrillachop Though Chicago doesn't get all that rain and flooding that NYC gets. So that you can see all the "more" attractions, lol.
@@skywalker6648 NY doesn't rain like that unless it's the Summer depending on how humid it is even this april it didn't rain but it is cold out here. So u still can see the attractions even if it rains we have alot of indoor activities

I love Chicago! The way I describe it is that if looks and feels like a Northeastern city but still has Midwestern friendliness/hospitality!
I was born and raised in Chicago (not far from the Sox stadium and Solider Field). I now have lived in NYC for over 17 years. After watching this video you’ve made me want to move back home! Great job.
Move back home. Chicago is better than New York City. I'm sure in your heart you know I'm right.
Wow
Come during the summer! Summer time Chi is one of the best in the country! And we’ve had movies like transformers and The Dark Knight be filmed here!!
Normal vigilance such as a prudent person should exercise anywhere will keep you safe here.
wow! spectacular scenery. Thanks for covering all the important parts of the city.

Thanks for a wonderful tour.

While it can be windy, it's not the reason why it was named the windy city.
@@NoBody-tk3yd Correct. It was nicknamed the Windy City because of its politics.

Awesome knowledge about Chicago Love you brother from India🇮🇳
"Every video feels like a journey through space. I was completely hooked from start to finish!"
I lived in Englewood before I moved from Chicago and found it surprising to hear how dangerous it was supposed to be.
@@jamesbarakaat233 I live in St louis. Chicago feels a lot safer.
