    Hi, could you post a link of the clean-grey template. I can't find it. Just templates close to it and since you said this can only work with clean-grey template don't know if things were later changed on the website

      Maximum sizes: The largest poster you can create at 300dpi is A2 or 16"x20"

    Great tutorial! I purchased your product thank you. I just have one question. Is the image size 4803 x 6790 px and a2 size? I would like to make it for an a3 poster but not sure how to export it.

      @calvinatdrifterstudio8438  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thank you so much ❤️
      You can just export the normal result from the a2/a3/a4 template and it will work on all of those sizes. The a sizes are all exactly the same shape, so the printer will scale it automatically to fit on whatever size it's setup for.

    Is it worth doing this for Etsy anymore? Seems pretty saturated with people doing this.

    • @calvinatdrifterstudio8438
      @calvinatdrifterstudio8438  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Etsy is full of creative products, but the problem is people don't really discover stuff on etsy. You can create some unique product with a template like this, like a map-bath towel, or some unique color scheme/printing method, but that's unfortunately only part of what's needed. The marketing is even more important.
      Another thing to consider is price range and level of service. Etsy will sort things by price, and many people will actually sort the listings so they see the highest price option first. This is because 99% of the listings are just low quality/low effort/ and customers do understand filters and stuff. When I approach a market that's really saturated, I would simply try to make the most expensive and highest quality option. The sales volume is lower but it's really worth it especially because the higher paying customers are easier to work with.

      @@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 Thank you. Really great reply. I had no idea it works like that. Truth is though i'd only be looking to make £400 a month. I wouldn't want to put much into it to make serious money. A side effort. I guess it isn't viable in that case.

    Max Poster is 16 X 20 at 300dpi ? 600 dpi should be minimum so there is no pixelation.

    • @calvinatdrifterstudio8438
      @calvinatdrifterstudio8438  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically, posters are only printed at 150dpi. You can't really see pixelation on 150dpi from further than 10 inches away. 600dpi is suitable for drivers licenses and passport photos where they usually need to be magnified

  • @adamc5929
    @adamc5929 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can I print these higher than A2 size while still maintaining quality?

    • @calvinatdrifterstudio8438
      @calvinatdrifterstudio8438  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Yes you can. A2 is the largest size at 300dpi. Larger sizes can print fine at 150dpi, and this is pretty standard for posters anyways.
      The difference between 300dpi and 150dpi is very subtle. You can't even tell the difference between the two from 24 inches away. That's why larger posters are printed at 150dpi. If it was 300dpi, it's much more expensive and for no real benefit.

    Hello, how can i do to create a map bigger with high definition, with your creator? Can i do that? There is a possibility?

    • @calvinatdrifterstudio8438
      @calvinatdrifterstudio8438  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! How large of a map would you like to create? Do you want it to have more details and small streets? You can actually tile several snazzy maps together. 4 is usually enough

  • @ajsyms
    @ajsyms 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great tutorial, thanks. I noticed you touched upon this at 11:03 but I just wanted to clarify whether or not it's definitely allowed to make prints in this way using Snazzy Maps and sell them online? The Snazzy Maps website states "All styles are licensed under creative commons and completely free to use." Following the link to creative commons states this: " The person who associated a work with this deed has dedicated the work to the public domain by waiving all of his or her rights to the work worldwide under copyright law, including all related and neighbouring rights, to the extent allowed by law. You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission." This suggests it's ok to me. However, in Google's "Terms of Use" in the lower RH corner of a Snazzy Maps image download, under the section titled, "Prohibited Conduct", it states "redistribute or sell any part of Google Maps/Google Earth or create a new product or service based on Google Maps/Google Earth (unless you use the Google Maps/Google Earth APIs in accordance with their terms of service);"

    • @calvinatdrifterstudio8438
      @calvinatdrifterstudio8438  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      HI there! SO as far as I can tell, the snazzy maps is ok. The google maps ones is not ok, but there has never been an instance of google acting on that. Google could theoretically ask you to stop selling the poster, but it has never happened. For example, under those terms from google, even drawing on a google map or taking a screenshot and giving it to a friend would violate it. I think they chose this wording to prevent someone from creating a competitive business based on google map data. Licenses are generally worded like this to prevent someone from using google's work to compete with google. This is why I believe you can argue 'fair use' as very reasonable in this case. You are using the minimum information from google to create and unrelated and uncompetitive product.

    • @ajsyms
      @ajsyms 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 Hey, thanks for the reply. Yes, this all seems logical to me. So the creative styles offered by snazzy maps are free to use under creative commons but the actual map content is protected by Google's terms & conditions even though it's unlikely they'd ever take any action. Thanks again.

    You could have very easily done the same with a single one level deep smart object, using blending modes and smart filters.
