Kit fisto is a species from a water world. He's a natural in the water. And lightsabers don't work to well in water. In the phantom menace, Obi-wan couldn't take out the droid chasing him when they met jar jar cause his lightsaber didn't work. He landed in water or was hiding in water. In this arc, their sabers were specifically modified to work in water, which means a lower energy output. Kinda like a training saber or stun round.
7:08 I think the violence they have towards the mon Cala really fits the implication is that the mon Cala have been oppressing them for years and when they finally fight back they would have some serious hate
Quick comment on Andor; Andor was great, at first, I didn’t get why they made so many build up episodes, but when the big moment hit in the finale, I understood. If you watch carefully each episode, they all show you the characters and what they’re personally going through and it makes you connect with the characters. Also, there’s is an incredible amount of detail, from the intro music adding instruments to amplify the awakening of the rebellion and war with the rhythmic drums to every little look on a character’s face makes you understand the “ambiance in the room”. All this makes you just connect even deeper with the characters and brings a lot more impact to the finale. Anyway, I said quick comment but wrote an essay😂 If you read this, may God bless your family and yourself
i think the "fluff" of andor is what made it so good, it really let you get a feel for it as a world and get attached to characters as real people which is what made it so unique when compared to most other star wars content
I think using the idea of a "water jedi" through Kit Fisto was awesome, not to mention how charismatic he was. This and the mini-episode series makes it infuriating how easily he got killed off. Loved the CGI versions of him more, more expressive and detailed.
Yeah it was brutal how Tampson killed his victims from biting the leg off from a clone trooper to literally disintegrating people in the final episode for the arc.
I think the lightsabers are having more difficulties cutting because they're so deep underwater. It's cold and wet, and the lightsaber isn't in contact with a lot long enough to cut as well.
You know, there was a Mon Calamari short in the old 2d Clone Wars show that had Kit Fisto and these aqua troops. So it was awesome to see them do this again but on a bigger scale.

This is we see prince Lee-char goes through a similar leadership Arc that Simba went through, Ahsoka showing her development as she gives advice help him, to see Captain Ackbar in this Prime fighting through the clone wars ;Lastly I actually like the villain, multiple water fighters , and two weapons take advantage of the terrain.
I don’t know why but I think this might have been my least favorite arc in the clone wars, each time the next episode came I was like “why are we still here” but hey it’s apparently other’s favorites so good for you

I always loved this arc, especially when the gungans show up 😂. Andor is like a Book if you rush through the first half of the book and get to the good parts you will still have to go back to understand wtf is going on, I've had to go back and re-watch other series multiple times because they jumped right into it and speed run through the development of the plot, Andor is perfect because you know exactly what is going on and why it's happening when it finally happens
This was a rly cool arc with an absolute beast of a villain. One of the few seperatist commanders that joins the battle and is an savage while doing so.
I liked this ark because of the underwater aspect, it was completely different than anything we’d seen. Also who else felt that Riff Tamsan’s death was satisfying.
One thing I thought of and I feel like its mentioned at some point in the series though I cant be sure. Is that jedi need to make a modification to there sabers to have them work under water. Perhaps that makes them somewhat weaker hence why it seems like there not slicing through anything. I could also just be completely wrong or thinking of something from legends.
I remember this Separatist General, scaring the shit out of me, as a kid. This was such a great arch, and I’m glad we got to see a good mix of the war and the politics, in just a few episodes. It really reminds me of OG Clone Wars, from 2003.
Dude, with a constant threat in all three episodes on the front lines in the battle always has a plan up his sleeve, and even when he's losing, he went down fighting he did not back down at all

In regards to the lightsabers bouncing off stuff there’s a theory that they have a sharp and dull edge and so that’s why sometimes we see them bounce off stuff. It would be harder to alight the edge underwater too.
Lightsabers do not have do be lethal. Training sabers usually cannot cut. Also, if you look at the sabers under water, if they were hot enough to cut with each little slash it would boil the water around them. They look like they are on a lower power mode that will still cut if sufficient kinetic energy is added to the swing. Which is why they can deflect blasters well, still, but function more like bludgeoning weapons clubbing their way through this particular battle. Sure, you see some light superficial cuts, but for the most part only power strikes can cut which are hard to do underwater with no leverage.
I know I'm late but in the star war lore regular light Saber can not work under water so kitfitso (I know probably got his name wrong) found and ancient lightsaber blue prints which were designed to work underwater but he had of failed out put of the plasma of the blade until we get what we see now sadly to work under water they lose allot of the cutting power
I don't remember the name of the battle, I'm sure it didn't go on for long but the battle when Ventirss (how ever you spell her name) joined the Sisters, and Dooku and Grevious invaded the home and killed everyone. and they tried assassinating Dooku, that might be a cool little episode.
11:25 the lightsabers are slightly defective underwater sometimes, because they are designed for oxygen/gas filled spaces. Kit Fisto has a special lightsaber for this purpose.

You convinced me to rewatch this and I'm glad I did. I used to hate it. Like they just stacked the beginning of S4 w silly filler. Now, knowing what's coming w Umbarra I am able to appreciate the detailed lore & heartfelt returns of Admiral Ackbar & a few episode later Cpt Tarpooles. You changed my mind about S4 thanks!

Those clones and non aquatic aliens fighting probably had years of deco from fighting for so long on the bottom of an ocean. There's no telling how deep they are but when ahsoka and the clones drop in the water and start to head down you can't see the bottom. If you're diving irl at depths of 500 feet or below for every minute you're at depth you can add close to an hour of decompression time in the water or you'll get the bends and likely die. Not to mention nitrogen narcosis making everything hard af to do.
Interesting idea for a video do battle scenes from a different fiction Lord of the rings. Maybe the first movies, then the Hobbit. The reason is that I think those would be good to look at in slow motion. Ps do extended edition of the Lord of the rings just for more scenes.

A great arc to see would be the Bad Batch one. (The one in Season 7 not the actual Bad Batch series on Disney+ but that would be good to see eventually.)
Late to the party, but I'm pretty sure Kit Fisto is more focused on the Force than Anakin, so even if Anakin is more powerful, Kit would have a much more practiced connection to the Force.

I need to check but I believe lightsabers aren't that effective under water its like lighting a match underwater, there kind of like underwater blow torches so not as effective cutting underwater as cutting on land.

The time kit fisto rammed a droid was like me as a barc speeder in battlefront 2, although I died after ramming the droid

I feel like that since lightsabers are constantly evaporating maybe it lessens the power of the light saber.
Not to mention, normal lightsabers would likely short-circuit at the handle if submerged for too long.
