It was actually a toothed gear that a chain goes onto on the header. A sprocket was misaligned which caused the chain to strike on the metal of the header which caused sparks which lit the feederhouse on fire.

They can be used and refilled is one reason. Another is that most fires we have arent chemical fires. There is a small red one in each cab usually as well.

did the bearings on the center pusher belt lock up tight that is where the fires are.

Is 3 fires in one harvest normal?
No, not usually. One a year maybe per crew is about standard. Varied outcomes on the fires. Sometimes the whole machine is lost.
