8:55 lets hope they keep this same energy for the rest of the comp. Too many players do it and nothing happens. So much hate for May this week due to something that happens almost every game.
Great video, as a Blues fan Charlie's dribble bounce and goal between 2 Cats defenders was another party trick goal. Maybe Blues players spent the bye on the basketball court.
For the deliberate rushed behind it was 100% correct. If at any stage during a players possession of the ball they are not under immediate pressure, which is normally classed as 2-5m depending on how quickly the opposition player is applying pressure, then the player has had 'time and space' to dispose of the ball so do not have the right to deliberately rush a behind
my best understanding of the sheezel no call is that the tackle wasn't stuck, when the ball went lose nobody was actually tackling and like you said Langdon dislodged the ball
funnily enough the seagull oddity at 3:38 should have been about the umpire paying 50m for something that shouldn't have been a 50m. If the player feints a handball or kick to make the man on the mark move then it's not a 50m penalty...
Shots after the siren need to be reviewed in the break, its an actual joke they didnt go back and overturn in. They need to get over themselves with the idea that the umpires cant be questioned, they need to be held accountable for shockers like this, at some point they need to realise they can go back and overturn certain calls. Super annoyed they didnt give clarry a staging fine too, the only reason may got one was because of the backlash. It shows they dont want to enforce their own rules unless they get enough media backlash around it
wither humanity? what if it wasn't the last play and the ump missed something glaring, would you want that reviewed too? let there be a human element in the game...
@@hedonismunderstands2469 Absolutely, it literally would affect nothing else in the game. That was a goal from something where it objectively shouldnt have been a goal, play was stopped so it doesnt matter if they overturn it. I thought the Sheez play was fine because the Dees player nerve had him under control. Just grasping at him. So that’s why it was a strip. Glad you shows the Oliver flop. I know Curtis is strong but cmon.
jezza's goal is a goal unless an umpire makes a decision, which they didn't. swings and roundabouts, lot's of other decisions go the other way and you concede a goal... that's footy - it's human and it's good for that. you're bang on with harry's unpaid holding the ball though. and the bomb[er]s away throw!
With Harry Sheezel, the only thing that seems possible is that the umpire didn't think the tackle was properly made, so play on? But, I agree, should have been holding the ball.
9:09 If you're within nine metres of the line (the length of the goal square) you can rush it through 18.11.2 A field Umpire shall award a Free Kick against a Player from the Defending Team who intentionally Kicks, Handballs or forces the football over the Attacking Team’s Goal Line or Behind Line or onto one of the Attacking Team’s Goal Posts, and the Player: (a) is greater than nine metres from the Goal Line or Behind Line
You have to satisfy 3 conditions simultaneously: 1) be within 9m of the scoring line 2) be under immediate pressure from the opposition 3) not have had prior opportunity to dispose of the ball While he clearly satisfied the 9m condition, he did not satisfy the other two as he was not under pressure when he took the ball and had both time and space to dispose of it. He wasn't even tackled over the line, he stepped over while the opponent was still a couple of metres away.
@@timothyhill6879 the rule outlines the conditions that must be met for it to be deliberate. The use of the word “and” means that, for it to be deliberate, you have to meet all of the conditions: (a) is greater than nine metres from the Goal Line or Behind Line; (b) is not under immediate physical pressure; (c) has had time and space to dispose of the football OR Meeting only d is sufficient for it to be deliberate (rucking it over the line on the full). While he had time and space, and wasn’t under physical pressure, he wasn’t further than 9m from the scoring line. Therefore not all conditions met, therefore not deliberate.
What's with the angles that players are set up from these days? Watching older games if someone marks it in the goal square a couple of metres off centre they are put on about a 10-15 degree angle. Now when it happens they are basically sent out of the field on a 90 degree angle lol. No wonder goal kicking is getting worse, the umpires have lost the plot
Missed what should've been a deliberate in the Port Lions game, Lions defender just smacks the ball out of play, wasn't a marking contest, how was that not given?
The Sheez one was called play on because there was no tackle laid, the Melbourne player has hands all over him but he doesn't actually tackle There needs to be a tackle for it to be HTB
@@hedonismunderstands2469 Initially yea, it was a tackle, but when slowed you can see Langdon almost completely let go of Sheezel and then stripped the ball. Not TECHNICALLY holding the ball but watching it live, and as a massive roos fan, I thought he was gone.

That goal umpire needs to be sacked he is really bad and doesn’t deserve his job. It clearly was a goal there was no reason for it not the be.
