I’m having a very good experience so far.
Im hoping to turn 40 tonight, riding skill here we come!
Loving the classic experience and I’m blown away by the custom content. Very strong ‘selling point’
Also the streamlining of classic content is very much welcome.
Minor gripe I have with the custom quest text.
It is very obvious when dealing with custom quests, they are written a bit more loosely, which is fun. But it’s also a bit of guesswork what to do and where to go and where to deliver the quest. This could be improved.

44 Shaman here. Enjoyed my time on the server but it's gotten old waiting for 45 minutes+ for a healer.
I can tank or DPS. If I switch to healer we spend 45 minutes waiting for a tank.
I wonder if Blizzard has hired PR firms that astroturf on their behalf, and that's one reason why we see so many "SoD hype!" lvl 5 people spamming Discord and world chat. The WoW subreddits also went crazy with loads of very similar posts of "SoD will be amazing, can't wait" etc. with 50-150 upvotes. As soon as someone was slightly negative, they were buried in downvotes. And then there were constant posts/comments about "toxic complainers", yet you wouldn't actually see them. Even the main WoW subreddit mods have said they had problems with bots commenting there.

I mean there is genuine hype everywhere for SoD. While it is always possible that there are some bots, I dont think that explains the 100+ updoots for SoD Hype and the Dislike Waves for anyone disagreeing, because most critics feel like partypoopers.
I will say this, the first thing I thought when I was recommended this vid was "Private servers are still a thing with Classic+ coming out?" and I don't even play classic, hate it. It's doggy, slow, the mechanics blew, and the nostalgia just doesn't hold my interest long enough. I am not excited about C+ AT ALL.
yeah it must be other people pretending, it cant be that you're in the minority of a minority that cares about wow private servers. No, dude. People are just genuinely hyped. most people don't have time to think about shopping for private servers and just want to enjoy blizzards official stuff.
@@ataridc I can certainly understand the hype. But going out of your way to continually create new level 5 characters on a private server and spam "SoD hype" there, even after SoD launch, is just mental.

Great server, sadly it will be lower population for a while now with SOD... Hopefully just like their RP server this one grows and becomes healthy again in the future.
They lost more players for just allowing griefing than they did because of SoD. They're not getting those players back if Blizz steps up their game again, because the experience they're offering isn't better than Blizzard's.
@@maxgehtdnixan4913 What do you mean by "allowing griefing"? Blizzard doesn't have gank protection either, if that's what you mean. Also, Blizzard doesn't really offer a better experience; you're paying a subscription for servers that are unbalanced, filled with bots, GDKPs, RMT, a toxic community that only cares about endgame, and you never know if Blizz will implement microtransactions or implement changes to Era that doesn't fit it.
@@dannyp9210 Yeah, I had the blizzard experience in full on turtle wow. That's the problem. "Blizzard doesn't have this" is exactly why you'd want to play private servers. What I got on Turtle WoW was Blizzard. So why bother?
@@maxgehtdnixan4913 Huh, that was not my experience. I felt the community was much better and non-toxic on Turtle, but I started playing before the massive increase in population, and I started out as HC.
I think the reason the community feels more Blizz-like now, is because a lot of Classic players have discovered Turtle and take their attitudes into it. A lot of CN players have also made people frustrated, and with a huge population people are more toxic as each individual isn't as noticeable anymore. I think we see some of this on every server once it gets populated enough, unfortunately.
@@dannyp9210 It's not inevitable. If the staff doesn't let it happen, it doesn't happen, but they wanted the big numbers and pretty much destroyed their RP server for them. The people who left are highly unlikely to come back.
Total agree with you, i dont know what hit them this Devs on turtle wow but they really unbalance the game even worst from vanilla times..
I notices
warriors: can charge even from more far distances and they can hit even when u kinda away from them..
Druids: good luck killing them in bear form and with that insane healing that they have, Oh and boomkin as well broken
Shamans: are doing over 3k dmg in 3 sec super broken they can heal remove dots etc.. totally broken if they are rank11+
Shadow priest: in this server probably the best pvp char that can easy destroy u in 1v1
Paladins are so/so cant say are op. just good player who plays paladin can give really hard time. othewise are not that special.

This server grow extremely well but will not stay for long when people start get boring how fck up and unbalance is.
Yeah the balance is pretty ridiculous.
Started on telabim, quit at levep 51 because, at the time, there are about 150-200 active NA. Needless to say that didnt work out so i went to the main realm and although its not a prog server its been a blast and the community is much better

Leveling a high elf warrior on RP server feels like a blast. I deliberately picked a weird race to not confuse private and real deal in my head😅
Not a bad experience on the rp server. Rp server is great but telabim was rough.
i dont know if thats the pvp experience where i am a pve player or maybe am not end game enough, but so far the experience over couple weeks for me is that the guilds or at least the one i experienced have been super hospitable and patient and lot of the older player will take time to explain stuff patiently and even with randoms in dungeons yes there is the rage quitters that get mad after a wipe but for the most part its been patient and even willing to waste time and help me(i think big part of that is that am on the pve server non HC character) but yes there is mass inviting and bit loose structure but for a new player its hospitable and welcoming but i guess its different from guild to guild and from pvp focused to pve focused, i agree on the custom quests there is a LOT of backtracking and unclear directions and quest chains that take long needlessly that you might end up outlevelling their reward. also super agree on survival its super unclear and there is usually enough players that have tents at the entrance of SW that its enough for the whole server which makes it kinda needless as a whole profession grind.
side note: its a whole different experience ignoring world chat tbh like i think ignoring is healthier for enjoyment of the game specially withen the context of it being private server and a large enough player base which makes it both a gathering ground for passionate enough players about the game and large enough that idiots will be there so turning off world chat for me has been a super helpful way to just put aside the negativity and enjoy the game and the guild is large enough where the chat is not dead and lot of helpful stuff can be learned from it
I have a tank shaman on the main server and a 47 warrior so far on the pvp, turtle wow is what keeps my love for wow still going now adays, just dont have it in me to support blizzard really anymore

I have not played much on turtlewow although I made a char years ago. and haven't even maxed yet
I agree with BG issue , and low score , I have yet to successfully join one since the participation is so low.
re dungeons, its nothing different to retail. tanks and healers are always wanted.
what I don't agree with you is your view about talent tree changes. . when I rolled a character on this server I accepted the fact that they have made changes (good, bad, necessary unnecessary) but so I will adapt and learn to play according to that. so I am neither excited not so upset either.
as for class balancing, its open to debate and down to who you ask. retail or private. classes will be broken, neglected or meh, again, I wont let that spoil my fun.

id also like to say I agree with your class balance changes specifically in blood ring. druid is more of a nuisance than paladin in my opinion (coming from a horde player). I may or may not be one of the players you complain about in raid gear, but I never use consumables/zoo unless I go against extremely annoying triple stacks like 3 pala/2 mage 1 pala/or 1 mage 1 pala 1 druid.

Great server. Wasn't a fan of some people corpse camping but thats part of a pvp server.

Server is just a month and 2 days old, give it a year or at least 6 months. Just saying!

I hope all those private server poopsockers stay on Turtle and they keep filling up their socks, enjoy.
roles have been reversed for a while now, poopsockers are on classic and casuals play private

I tried out Ascension WoW a few weeks ago, I recommend it over Turtle WoW.
@@DylanSmithOwns is that the one where you get random talents across all classes when you level? Seems like that mechanic could create some interesting toons.
@@loftus4453 Yep! But they also have a freepick server without the RNG aspect to it. I wouldn't of recommended it in the past but they've made substantial changes.
How can you expect a proper Arena experience when you queue up solo and finally end up facing organized, prepared and geared enemy teams working together steamrolling? xD I mean talking about balance is a whole other thing but cmon...

tel'abim just seems like an afterthought from the turtle team. started off extremely strong and could have surpassed their old realm but laziness and greed got in the way. sadly sod might finish the server for good for a while just like classic/som did years ago. I don't think it will shut down but just see a lull in players in the future. pvp balance and hosting events instead of mocking their own players would be a good change. and stop acting like we give a damn about a transmog competition on their china server. here's to hoping for brighter days ahead for all private servers.
This seems out of pocket, whatever perceived failures that you have is not on the team itself, they did their end and provided a pvp realm and advertised it before its release. I wouldn't call it laziness or greed by any stretch of the imagination. It isn't up to the turtle team to host events, that's up to the player base, all the team does is create content and host the realm for players to play on.
I dont think it was a afterthought to the turtle team i think they simply thought it was going to be much more populated than it is. A lot of people like alexensual and mcdoubles said a twow pvp server would be insanely popular and i think they bought into that and didnt want flooded servers like when the chinese invaded the rppve realm so they didnt bother to promote it much. Maybe i am wrong, idk but i think they can just wait it out and it will be popular. A few months after i started playing on twow both wotlk classic and everlook launched, the population dropped a lot and then gradually climbed back up before it just blew up in feb/march of this yr months before the chinese invasion.
Yeah, its a private server. Turtle wow operated for years with no population despite putting in a lot of work. I don't know what you mean 'would you tell any other business that its totally on their customers for success', they already do their part in creating content and advertising the server. if people quit they quit. Like I said, this 'transmog competition' and a bunch of events are not hosted by the team and never were hosted by the team. Also, Just because you get bopped by paladins in pvp doesn't really mean that 'devs are lazy' as the video said, paladins really are not that OP as compared to other classes, hell I'd argue mage is 10x greasier than a paladin.@@fatgucci1118
@@fatgucci1118 Your evidence of why paladins are op is astounding. I myself play horde and tbh they aren't that big of a deal. The only class they absolutely fuck with is melee classes, and tbh so does most caster classes. If your evidence is the whining community and you take them with such sincerity and truth regardless of having no experience than I dunno how to argue against that.
@@fatgucci1118 Pallies being strong does help faction balance though as Horde have better pvp racials overall which often destroys pvp servers due to all the crutching tryhards who roll Horde.

It has a ton of issues and I believe much of what they do is driven by the want to squeeze people of their money.
Community is also pretty horrendous.
mostly rude children in my experience and the Game mods are not any better.
I leveled up on both servers. Stopped at lvl 13 in tel'abim after realizing it was taking way too long compared to the PVE server. Warmode and rested xp makes leveling a breeze. We're getting too old for this lmao
