This game was the biggest scam after No Man's Sky. However, at least at Hello Games, they had the diginity to keep their word and improved the game and delivered everything they promissed. In MO, they have 1000 players since ever, meaning, where are the 99 000 other players promissed? It's just a beautiful skin where nothing works. But developers don't care. As long as they have a 1000 subs, they can mod the games and carry on living. It's trash.
I loved playing mo2 a year and a bit ago, spending most my time in the jungle killing trolls(the mob) sators and using a build that allowed me and my friend to 2v3-6 groups that came down. Eventually we joined a small guild that did similar things just on a bigger pvp scale. Seeing the difference in lag between a 2v6 and a 10v10+ was my first indicator that there will be problems, then for like 2 weeks a northern guild dropped alts down here and it just stopped being fun in the bigger fights. Invis dagger mages, aimbot on spells it was just disgusting, our only real hopes of winning was when other guilds allied and we started like 30v10 40v10 and that was alot of extra lag. Its a fun game but so much needs to be fixed even outside of the reasons i quit that i dont see starvault ever accomplishing

I seriously believe in and would support legislation anywhere that would seek to pursue prison time for cheating in games. Not only are you directly interfering with an experience and service I've paid for but you are also maliciously damaging the company that owns and runs the game. Prison.

There is literally 1 reason and only 1. SUBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The launch was a disaster yes but that isn't what killed it. the 40% loss is centered around the start of the SUB and then just recently the first big new MMO drop since subs. First off I new dozens of people of my gaming group that didn't want to even try if there was a sub starting at some unknown point. Of the 5 or 6 that did play they all new they where going to stop when subs came. In fact they all stopped as subs where coming up because why waste their time? even now we all still talk about how we miss the game. Going to only sub would change nothing at all because the sub is just a non starter for the vast majority of gamers. The consumer base for subscription games is drastically smaller than one time purchases and always has been. Given that these players have a higher monetary investment and can literally loose what they have gotten from it by stopping or the game dying, they have to be pickier. They are going to be skeptical of any non AAA companies and harsh on any problems . On top of that MO2 is niche, the gameplay fun problems you mention are well not entirely a problem for me but for many. so what I'm getting at is that with subs they to limit their consumer base to a smaller consumer base that less willing to try new things and on top of that the sub model doesn't match well with the high risk nature of the game. All of the Issues you bring up are what would be the problem if the game was stuck at like 4k peak players and a high turn over. The frustrating allot of the time yes but it had a level of depth that lets you really feel like you become an expert. It has something no other game has. It is a bizarre situation where they and most players insist on the sub despite that the game would easily make more money by going to a one time purchase model. Spending $40 is a easier sell by far and just by the sheer number and frequency of sales you would make more money. Then comes their bizarre aversion to any and all microtransactions, I get avoiding pay to win but all this it breaks immersion garbage when it comes to cosmetics is bullshit. Knowing I am paying for continued access breaks my immersion. They literally have a fantastic opportunity to sell cosmetics for your player houses without effecting gameplay at all. The game has problems but if it hadn't been for the subscription the game would have grown and started getting attention. Then all these issues with the gameplay would be the biggest concern but why even care about that when the monetization limits the player base to around 1k peak players?
It can take 3 days to make a set of steel armor. It takes 5 seconds to lose it. Then the person who killed you and stole your armor walks into town wearing it and then mocks your naked ass…yet you have no recourse because it happened 10 minutes ago. That happened to me three times so I left. Not paying for that thank you.
Game is fine, needs work. It is the community that ruins this game. It eats itself.

I don't disagree with some of these takes but this video honestly comes across as a rant from someone who's been a victim of the community. You can sit here and blanket statement about cheaters and RMT etc., but so could I about people who complain about a game they're not being forced to play. Generally, you people feel that you have been done wrong due to your lack of skill or inability to cope with full loot and want revenge. See how I'm pretending to be a psychologist like you? I saw in the comments you claim to have 5k hours, yet you have next to no footage of MO2 on your account and you speak about the game as if you are a complete blueberry. You clearly didn't play on launch, because if you did, you would know that the game never peaked at 9k because the server could only handle 2k players logged in. Everyone else was in a broken queue with no metrics. And unless you know everyone in MO2 personally like your two lowlife friends, then your theory on the player base having a higher ratio of RMTing players is impossible to prove. Therefore, you should not be stating that as if it were a fact. If I were you, I would stick to my extraction games and quit yapping about this BS that lives rent free in your skull for some reason. And don't even get me started on Dark and Darker. FFS.

On launch, the longest queues I've ever seen, and it only said "you are in queue" it didn't tell you what place you were in or how long you would be in queue. Then they immediately started saying they were going to charge a subscription, when the game was $60. You can't charge an initial price and a subscription. That in itself is game suicide. Also, their decision to have 1 server really killed the game as well. If they had 1 server on each continent, this game would've been alot better. And bc there was only one server, the lag in the united states was already almost unbearable that when they changed to unreal 5, the game became completely unplayable, and then they added a subscription. Keep in mind, I have a $3,000 computer, and the top internet provided. I play every other game just fine is the point. If these devs weren't trying to kill their game, here is how they could've kept it alive and made plenty of money to keep it going. Firstly, A server per continent. Secondly, the price of the game is fine, but do away with the sub cost, and add item skins that are purchasable and potentially battle passes with exclusive skins. The diehard fans would pay for these no problem, and it wouldn't be a forceful tax that would drive the playerbase away. Either that, or keep the game the way that it is with the initial price, but make the game free to play on one character, make the subscription give the player 3 extra character slots. Plenty of people would pay for that. The subscription is a brick wall for 70% of people. The lag is a brick wall for almost 100% of players outside EU.

RMT is lame and stupid and sand and cheating
They should split the zones to single/duo/trio/5x/ unlimited zones. So if you're running solo you can only get hit by one player in combat. The higher the player zones the better the loot. Its when you have 3 people gank you it makes the game unplayable.
I think they should have another continent and split them into a everything goes continent where less to no guarded NPC towns plenty of red and grey priests with higher dmg monsters better loot etc. and then a continent where there is only blue priests limited build options(no guild priests) more guarded towns with lower tier mobs and loot pools. Maybe creating a few more deterrents for straight up murder would still be needed in the lower tier region but this would allow new players a better experience of getting used to the game without getting ganked as much. Bandit groups would still go in and kill new players from time to time but realistically at the risk of dying and the nearest red priest to a noob town being potentially an hour or more horse ride + regearing for poor loot should deter alot of them
Star vault has a history of security issues. MO 1 was breached a few times and they tried to cover it up.
MO1 was the good days. I think most of us vets from MO1 expected this to be honest.
Oh yeah absolutely. MO2 was the way to fix MO1's problems, and instead they copy over the code of the game for the most part and just do another asset rip. lol.

i just cant do the jump over the charge attack, ive tried 50+ times and every time the rush attack kills me
Where can an more honest like old school MMO/RPG player get started in this game to maximize the fun? i miss games like Everquest 2 and especially Dark Age Of Camelot and I get those kind of vibes looking into this game. Why won't the devs do something about this? I mean in my mind they could atleast probably implement a new server with more progressive anti-cheat which could include some type of anti-cheat installed on player systems? Hmm?
Wow ok, I was not all the way into the video before posting this comment. Im glad you posted this video as I was very un-aware of how terrible EAC is at handling anti-cheat and I have played quite a few games with EAC. Wow.. Are there ever going to be any good open world sandbox games where the gameplay is fair and fun? oh wait i just woke up and apparently I think I was dreaming..
yea this one, everything wrong with this game bleeds into every other mmorpg ever created or emulated in this era of gaming. small development team. the game isnt going anywhere, has been worked on for over 15+ years.
MO2 is a great alternative if you've ever gotten bored of slamming a door shut on your dick and need to spice things up.
yea i quit mortal cus of the building...or lack there of..played 1 a fair amount hoped this was gona be the new improved and turned out to be history repeats itself ..unfortunately

A lot of casuals left because all the benefits sit with being a murder hobo. The player base wont accept change, and the casuals get bored getting farmed 10 yards outside of town. Not enough small, solo content, doesn't even feel like an MMO.
Played it for like 800h before the 1.0 and i loved it but its to hard to play alone, they need to make a option so i can use PVE and when someone kill you they get a bad buff for like 7 days and they really need to imput teleports for some citys like u can teleport without anything in your inventory only your armor or something have not much time to travel and die like 100 times

This game need a system for actually rewarding killing other players that are unjust.. If someone kills another player, you should be able to recruit religious/town npcs to kill the unholy. This way the game can create something good for casual players that are getting ganked constantly

Thank you for this. Its to a point now where we have witnessed 100% cheating with combat logs, and dont get me started on Ticklemonsters and there "Radar/teleport/auto aim." Its really too bad, great game concept just bleeding players at this point. Not worth the hassle anymore.
i think a big way to fix this dumpsterfire of a game is to add skill based matchmaking. other then that youre a based and really cool dude dyl

There are cheaters in every game I agree. But you need real evidence to make a statistical claim. 1 in every 3 players is a huge stretch I think. Or else you would see more bans from StarVault. The RMT issue is a big problem in MO2 and auto bots. I am hoping we get better security in this game going forward.
There's about a consistent 100 people cheating consistently. Getting banned, buying a new account. The ban numbers are the same almost every month. Most cheaters cheat again when banned so.
@ixildentertainment8972 Then why has the population steadily gone down if the number of cheaters remains the same? Either way that isn't good - if they're being banned and coming back easily that only hurts the game lol. You also underestimate how easy it is for someone to get into cheating. It usually starts with light RMT which can become an easy afterthought for a large portion of players.
@@DylanSmithOwns Sorry I don't understand when you equate the cheater numbers being at 100~ consistently and compare it to the numbers of players going down? They're not comparable it's two different sets of numbers. But the cheater numbers are consistent, and the player base has dwindled thats correct. I'm not saying you're wrong brotha. Cheers.
<personal i dont want to implementplay /progress for hours and then beeing randomly ganked and loose everything ! waste of my time I wish they would implement are more harsh crime system so it wouldt barely be of any good when ppl gank random ppl

The dancing ballerina combat is what did it for me...Also I just think this game is not a game to have a subscription model. The game has to be good enough or way further along then even right now to have a subscription model.... Its just not worth it...If they marketed and went f2p they might have more players but how would they make their money. They already stated this game would have zero microtransactions so they kind of dug their own hole...
