I was on holiday in Thailand for 3 weeks with no visa (from America) and opened a bank account at Kasikorn bank in Khon Kaen with only my passport. Didn't need letter from embassy, proof of address, or rental agreement.
I've done the same at Bangkok Bank before. They just want a way to locate you in case there is fraud perpetrated by you. They can freeze the account too if there is a fraud issue.
I did open a bank account with Bangkok bank few years ago without any of the requirements that you have mentioned, I just showed them the money; proof of income and my passport, I was a tourist staying in a nearby hotel and I had to speak with the branch manager. I do not understand why it is difficult, if someone is asking for credit then I understand, but simply asking for a checking account to deposit funds, the bank should be running after the customer.

When the time come "normal" - I'll like to explore Thailand for long period of time ( thinking of about 3-months ). I saw that the TR single entry is good to stay up to 60-days. Is there a other type of visa that will let me stay in Thailand for 90-days. I don't want to leave & come-back, etc.,
The USA embassy does not provide any letters of authenticity of your passport. They stopped this practice years ago. In the past they did provide these letters for $50. In addition, what person would sign a 1 year lease without even receiving their retirement visa? Without the retirement visa, they can only be in the country for 30-90 days. There must be a method Americans use to open bank accounts (which is a requirement to obtain the O Visa) while in Thailand on a 30-60 day tourist visa (with one potential 30 day extension). How are they doing it?

You got all your information wrong, you can get 1 year contract without a bank account. You can open a bank account without 1 year rental contract. I have done both personally.

What I would like to know ís, rightnow are the regulations that you can receive a 45 day visa on arrival for Thailand. I did book meanwhile my Ticket and according to the flight schedule it figured out that my holiday lasts exactely 45 days and 50 minutes, cause my aircraft will leave 0.50am at the 46 day. Therefore my question, if I will have passed the passport control before the beginning of the 46 day I´ll already be in the Transit area do I in this case match up with the visa regulations, that demand that I have left Thailand again after 45 days or do I need to extend my visa before my departure at the immigration offfice. I ´d be very pleased if you know me an answer. Thank you very much for your efforts.

I didnt have to get an embassy letter to open my Thai bank account. You do need a rental agreement. Shop around to find a bank who will accept you as not all banks will.

They let you into the country by matching you with the picture on your passport. A Thai bank can't do that even with additional ID? 5555 Ridiculous. The embassy is the only one that can prove your address in Thailand . Again 5555.
Shes talking ALL OVER THE PLACE. If the bank wants a work permit then you cant get around that. You need to go to another bank. What is this women talking about? You need the word permit period.
