Disagree. I remember it as one of the most iconic times in K-Pop but I always hated that song. It was so bad musically speaking. I think GG has ten times better songs which showcases their vocals and has better production and concept. Gee is just a staple of bubblegum K-Pop. A sub genre which I think also has much better songs.

If Gee wasn’t a Top 5, I was gonna have to throw hands with someone. I’m personally upset Kara and Infinite were so low, as Sweetune were THE k-pop 2nd gen producers, in my mind. I would’ve campaigned for Catallena to land higher in the list, because despite being a meme, it’s a truly good and iconic song. I’m also personally happy to see Lee Jung Hyun so high, as her music was the first Korean music that really wormed its way into my ear, thanks to Dance Dance Revolution.

In my opinion most of these newer groups and their songs should not be in this list lmao. Among all these actually legendary songs from the 20th Century and early 2000s that were big hits in South Korea itself and had big impact on Koreans suddenly appear some TikTok hits 💀 The sentiment is completely different, for a lot of these older songs and artists there are memories and nostalgia attached to them, then you have songs where everyone is just like “I’ve heard this on TikTok”. Cultural impact is important.
I have to say i agree with this list wholeheartedly. A lot of these songs were chosen because of the strong impact they still have on popular music to this day.

Im a Atiny, Luvity, Crown, MY, NCTzen, Shawol, P1ece, Monbebe, MOA, Engene, Stay, Army, and roadY, so im like half way happy with this list 😅 not saying that all the groups i love should be on there, some are still new. I was ecstatic to see my beautiful ladies Aespa on there, and MonstaX too. I personally would have put BTS's BS&T on there, definitely one of my favorites. Ill have to sit and think of who i think should have made it and for what songs, though.

Oh, I came across Short Hair after watching Seventeen's Immortal Song performance and really liked it! Seeing that ep I know Cho Youngpil would make it! And I also really love Haru Haru. The year I stumbled across it, that year it was my favorite! Also for Seventeen, I was sure Aju Nice would make it. I feel almost everyone knows it and associates Seventeen with Aju Nice!
I would really suggest checking out Black Happiness by Yoon Mirae. She talks about her struggles being biracial and multicultural. Talking to her younger self and finally loving herself. Very powerful song.
I do feel like Girls' Generations I Got A Boy should have been here. It basically kickstarted the experimental wave of K-pop. We wouldn't have had NCT, Aespa, or NMIXX if I Got A Boy had flopped.
honestly i understand that a good portion of this list is from decades ago bc this say korean pop songs, not kpop songs. when i hear korean pop, i personally think korean music in general dating back to whenever koreans started making music. whereas kpop is more so the industry of kpop and being a kpop idol, (training, performing on music shows, etc). so a lot of popular kpop songs won’t be on this list because it doesn’t amount to the impact a lot of older korean songs had. and i feel like we can’t really speak on it bc most of us weren’t alive during the 60s or whatever, and probably not in korea, so the older songs probably had much more impact than a lot of kpop songs. but i do think there should be some more kpop on this list! but i understand how most of this list doesn’t have a lot of our favorite songs on them. at least that’s my opinion.
