Wdh I didn't even realize this was posted by plaantik😭 I've seen them Facebook before but this type of content is has exceeded my expectations from them. Bravo.
Here is Drury's commentary from the 2022 World Cup final Montiel... Argentina, champions of the world. Again. At last. And the nation will tango all night long. 36 years ago since Maradona and Mexico, here finally is a nation's new throng of immortals. Scaloni will be fated, Messi will be sainted. The little boy from Rosario, Santa Fe, has just pitched up in heaven. He climbs into a galaxy of his own. He has his crowning moment and of course he is not alone. He was beautiful. He was the point of difference. He has always been the point of difference. Unparalleled, and maybe today, there will, of course, be those who argue. Always be those who debate and the debate can rage on if you like. But as he falls in love with the object in the world that his heart most desired, it is hard to escape the supposition that he has rendered himself today - the Greatest of All Time
Sorry, I can't bear to hear him. He sounds so dull compared to so many of the spanish speaking commentators I've heard all my life. He does occasionally say quotable lines, but he doesn't get me riled up even when he's witnessing something amazing. That goes to english speaking commentators in general, not just him of course.
I've never watched/heard a full game with Drury's commentary because I'm from Finland and we have our own commentators (somewhat unsurprisingly) but I've been familiar with that voice for YEARS from watching compilations, long before I learned his name even. And I could almost tell, just from those little clips, that people like Peter.
First I’ve come across this channel and what an introduction!! This gave me original Tifo meets Athletic Interest vibes. Lovely piece of content and I’m genuinely excited for what you guys have in stored! Also, no matter how many times I listen to this man’s poetry, it still gives me goosebumps - and that Tshabalala goal is definitely up there for me too!!
I've been connected to the online community of football for quite a long time. It is quite refreshing to see my country men(and women) taking on the responsibility to produce quality contents over the internet for the betterment of the game. Good work Plaantic, and GODSPEED.
He is honestly the only English commentator who does actually good commentary in english (majority of them are extremely boring). This might be a bit skewed of course because I am Brazilian, and that's the thing, Brazilian commentators usually capture a lot more of the raw emotion and euphoria of the goal with their long and loud cries of "gol", but many still capture the beauty of football like Drury, Paulo Andrade, Jorge Iggor, André Henning and Rogério Vaughan, to name a few, also use a lot of words like Drury, maybe not with the same weight and poetic feeling, but that for us Brazilians is still incredible to hear, and especially if it is a team we are rooting for or who we support. But I think the title of the video and the constant saying that he and Martin Tyler are/were the voice of football and of a generation is a bit anglocentric ngl, idk yall probably didn't imagine it'd reach an audience outside of England lol. Well, still an amazing video! ^-^
100% - this is fairly based on English based commentators and the most popular ones. A lot of Brazilian, Spanish and Middle Eastern commentators are way more emotive. Also, we are not based in England so that should say something about the global appeal of the commentators mentioned in the video! Thanks for taking the time to comment - do check out our other videos if you're keen 🙏
🗣️"High I'm Martin Tyler and this is Alan Smith" Peak FIFA 15 -17 commenterary Also the international ones Nowadays game commentaries are pretty bland and repetitive.
7:06 I'm saying this now, and no offense to Conor McNamara, but he is not going to be anywhere close to Peter Drury. When Peter left and he took over, I felt empty. Nowadays, I'm always hunting down Peter Drury commentary after every Premier League gameweek since I live in South Africa and we don't have Sky Sports here...
I'm from Argentina, and as much as like this poetic kind of commenting, it is soulless compared to any south American commentator. It just doesn't relate to the way we feel football. I've found the Italian version of the world cup final to be really good to. During the last euro, Spanish fans praised Argentinian commentators. If anyone is interested, or if you'd like to make a video on the subject, the commenting on maradona's goal against England is considered part of Argentina's history.
I can't believe how much I hated Peter Drury, every year in PES during the mid 2010s, the lines were are almost always the same, for better or for worse. I never really listened to English commendatory because Arabic was more than enough. But then I saw clips of him online and that changed in an instant.
A lot of people in the premier league will say that Peter drury is overdone. Yes he’s good but he overdoes poetry a lot of the times. Only good in big games. But in other games he’s very annoying. He’s the second best commentator in my opinion, the 2010 World Cup commentator is my favourite.
Voice of English speaking * He makes me feel asleep I grow up watching Arab commentators even a match between ligue 2 teams can turn into world cup final level of excitement

4:18 That's my comment right there; what a wonderful surprise!
Good on you!
Awesome surprise for us too, to see you randomly find this video! Thanks for the comment.
It’s not just the great moments that Peter Drury rises too. He’s always quality. It doesn’t matter the importance of the game.
that's what we call quality contents, kudos to Plaantik.
thanks for the support!

Feels like I'm watching a video from the Athletic/Tifo Football
Hopefully that's a good thing!
@@plaantik yeah it is

man that messi world cup final commentary still give me goosebumps... that was poetry from heaven.. its transcended sports
Him and Jim Beglin duo in the recent games of PES were great...
Arabic commentary with the passion they put in it might get to them sooner...
Mine and my family's favourite duo, in football commentary
First I’ve come across this channel and what an introduction!! This gave me original Tifo meets Athletic Interest vibes. Lovely piece of content and I’m genuinely excited for what you guys have in stored!

Lovely content, I absolutely loved it! Can't wait to see more unique content like this!
One of my favorite , I love his commentary in the 2010 World Cup after Tshabalala scored against Mexico
Peter Drury, simply the 🐐
Top-notch quality video, editing also on point
I hope you make it big dude
You guys deserve more recognition.

THE GOAT OF COMMENTARY

"more, and more, and more"
the most memorable line ever
His commentary on Real Madrid’s comeback against Man City was absolutely legendary!
My goodness, where have you been sir. This is Excellent!!!
So short!! Could've made it longer with some effort. Anyways awesome job. Looking forward to your videos
Quality video sir! Definitely earned a subscriber with this top-tier content, keep up the good work
Really loved the analysis!
Loved the video..IDK why Plaantik stopped making video content. Glad to have you back and best of luck for " Football Explained". GO BIG guys
Thanks so much! Keeping consistent this time.
amazing video, great production.

Peter drury isn't the voice of football for this generation, he's the voice of football period.
Quality content. Enjoyed every minute.

Great Video! You should make on video on Martin Tyler, I feel like he was as influential as Peter Drury for the 2000s
Barry Davies.
Beautiful said
Now this is international content quality. KUDOS! Please keep 'em coming :D
Thanks mate! We have more in store.
I think he plays for west ham
I dont comment often on videos, but for a channel with 5000 subscribers wow, just wow
i remember Jon Champion on PES games
World class content
hes so good he seems waised on a midtable prem clash
Okay now we're talking Plaantik but would love some coverage on the Abahani-Mohammedan rivalry in BD.
I'm from Argentina, and as much as like this poetic kind of commenting, it is soulless compared to any south American commentator.

Amazing ❤
I thought this channel was from Bangladesh! 😮 It has the same name and profile picture as a Bangladeshi football news page on Facebook.
And Of course, the Emptyhad banter 😂😂
Without Peter football is like a cake without suger or it's sweetness .
Great video 😁
What is the name of the font at 1:26 - 1:54?
1:27 According to Medium, Peter Drury stated "Wreathed in red," rather than "Reeved in red."
Quality found 😊
a video to remember about
when you study 900 hours for a 90 hours match...
It's not a goal unless he shouts 'MO salah'
Do ray Hudson next
Peter drury for the world cup
Martin Tyler and Alan Smith for FIFA
This is all I know and all I ever wish to know.
Bro for real i never thought derek rae was an actual person
Mate what about Alan smith & Martin Tyler 😭
Definitely the more popular ones for the previous generation but we think right now Peter Drury clears for the current gen.
Martin Tyler? He's subpar poetically
Infront of Peter Drury.
decent video but not one mention of the goat John Motson?
I can't believe how much I hated Peter Drury, every year in PES during the mid 2010s, the lines were are almost always the same, for better or for worse. good that someone can talk football related poetry in English.
In which streaming platform Peter Drury commentates the most...I'm goin to subscribe immediately
This had been my question for veryyy long time btw😭😭
And then we have martin tyler as commentator, who indeed might get similar payout as peter. I cant think of anyone bland than martin tyler
Is it an Australian channel?
No, the team I believe is Bangladeshi but the narrator could definitely be Australian with a British accent
The tifo comment is the most accurate comment on TH-cam
peter drury and jim beglin efootball
this video is incredible but I gotta be that guy..."reethed" is spelled "wreathed"
Who is speaking in the video?
our friend Neil. credits are at the end of the video :)
Martin Tyler's commentary during any United vs Liverpool convinced me he was not that guy as a commentator. Clearly biased.
A lot of people in the premier league will say that Peter drury is overdone. Yes he’s good but he overdoes poetry a lot of the times. Only good in big games. But in other games he’s very annoying. He’s the second best commentator in my opinion, the 2010 World Cup commentator is my favourite.
U guys are from Bangladesh, aren't you? Except the narrator
The narrator could be AI.
is this a Bangladeshi channel??🤔🤔
why?
This is a football channel ;)
love him, but he is only the voice of football for those that don't understand arabic, arabic commentary is on another level
Voice of English speaking *
He makes me feel asleep I grow up watching Arab commentators even a match between ligue 2 teams can turn into world cup final level of excitement
I personally find it OTT and verbose
You'd only like his commentary if you've never read a book.
Sorry, I can't bear to hear him. He sounds so dull compared to so many of the spanish speaking commentators I've heard all my life.
