@RuslanKD Just want to say THANK YOU for having charitable conversations with Catholics. I’ve been spending way too much time on X lately where the Catholic/Protestant bickering is insane. Seeing these good-spirited conversations is a real breath of fresh air.
It wasn’t “charitable” though. He keeps making it seem like purgatory is a PLACE when Alex makes it clear multiple times that it’s a PROCESS. Yet Russian keeps making him repeat it, I wouldn’t have been as patient as Alex for sure. Another thing is that Ruslan like most Protestants, is convinced that God is “nice” when Alex is saying God is “just” big difference. I don’t think they are capable of understanding the difference, seems like they might think their sins are so grave they require God to be lenient. Something they need to be introspective about. A conversation with Sam Shamoun could definitely help clear up doubts left of where Catholic beliefs stem from, this guy has a gift! This was a great conversation though 🙏
I agree but it could be harsh on the viewer and ruslan. He's a cut and dry type of guy n only want to say one thing once (ideally). He will call out n insult right away if you're being dishonest or disingenuous. So there's not a much of leeway of resistance from the viewers and ruslan to accept the Catholics teachings. Some also said that he's not yet properly cathecised or not wholly Catholics yet which is debatable and understandable. So voice of reasons for NOW is good enough But you're right Sam Shamoun would open more doors of a lot people to make people understand on the Catholics Stands and Dogma
Thank you VOR for being a voice of reason on my journey back into Christianity and thank you Ruslan for hosting this edifying conversation. Appreciate your work brothers!
As a Protestant ive been listening to more of these Protestant-Catholic dialogues for months now. Im still uncovinced of Catholic dogmas but i have more respect for their beliefs. We are both still followers of Christ at the end of the day.
9:13 I had the same experience and journey with the Baptist denomination. Digging deeper and asking more and more questions that no one had answers for or just brushed off entirely. After a long deep dive into more history and early church, I'm leaning more Catholic on things.
Indulgences: maybe it would be helpful to point out that the activities involved in receiving an indulgence are always something leading us down a path to holiness. Ie. Pray, Confession, pilgrimage, acts of mercy towards others. It's not about jumping through hoops. It's about being open to God's grace and following Him. There are activities and habits that lead you closer to Him, especially when practiced regularly.
To me it sounds like putting things on the good side of the scale to out weight the bad side. I'm sure lots of people take those acts seriously, but there is also the people who take it as a game, instead of being sorrowful over their sins and repenting from them.
Voice of Reason will go down in history as one of the best Catholic apologists of our generation. He has been so well catechized, he is well researched, he is so logical, congruent, coherent, and charitable. God bless you VOR 🙏🏻
yeah, for Ruslan, the Catholic view of God's justice contradicts God's mercy and love when in fact, Jesus made the restoration of His grace so easy for us through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Jesus knows our tendency to sin, so He makes His forgiveness visible and easy to access through the Sacrament. This is God's mercy here on earth before God's justice is applied to every soul after death. But I understand because he's not Catholic. If he cannot grasp God's justice as what the Catholic Church teaches, he will not appreciate the Sacrament.
I’m a Pentecostal love my faith my Lord Jesus Christ saved my life and led me to where I am even with me researching the churches history and I asked God sincerely to lead me to where I need to be I total assurance
I’m Pentecostal. Finishing Masters on Church Fathers. Pentecostals have brought great blessings to the universal church. Catholic Church has charismatic move now.
I was Pentecostal all my life and joined the Catholic Church last year at 53. In my journey, I’ve come to see how crucial doctrine is. As 1 Timothy 4:16 says, 'Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.' The Catholic Church holds the fullness of Christ’s teachings, and living according to them is essential for our personal salvation. I encourage you to continue sincerely seeking the truth.
Ruslan, you kill it. If we all believe we are saved then it is ok if we view theology and Christology differently. If we do not believe a group is saved then we need to discuss that. I loved this and your conversation with Gavin, we can't get lost in what divides (doesn't mean ignore) and we should celebrate what unites and thats Christ Jesus.
I grew up in a Catholic Church in California and honestly had a great experience, but never really felt like I learned about the Bible. A friend of mine from school invited me to his (Baptist) Church’s youth group and I felt fed and really learned about biblical Christianity. I’m now a Reformed Baptist, but I have NEVER sat there and thought that Catholics were going to hell for their differences in how they worship God. It’s weird to me how people on either side can be so convinced. Anyways, great discussion, and much love to my brothers and sisters in Christ (both catholic and Protestant).
By your own admission, in your Catholic background you never learned the Bible... To be fair this is an issue in any stream of Christianity, but with the reigning pope as the authority, a Catholic is incentivized to take the word of an infallible man over the word of God on a matter. Ex (blessings on gay marriage) highly unhinged from the text of scripture. Sola Scriptura. The words of the Lord are pure.
Hebrews 13:17 - 17 *Obey your leaders and **_submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls,_** as those who will have to give an account.* Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Passages that discuss not causing division or judgment over differing convictions in matters of faith and worship. A key passage addressing this is in Romans 14 (which isn't part of the Gospels but is a letter by Paul): Romans 14:1-3: “As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.” Romans 14:5-6: “One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God.” Romans 14:10-13: “Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God... So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding. Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God.” In these verses, Paul encourages believers not to argue over matters of personal conviction (such as dietary laws, observance of certain days, etc.), but instead to accept one another, as God has welcomed them. He highlights the importance of mutual respect and peace within the body of Christ, even when people have different practices or beliefs on non-essential matters. This is very much about recognizing that people may serve and worship God in different ways, and that we shouldn't divide over these differences if they are rooted in sincere faith.
Hebrews 13:17 - 17 *Obey your leaders and **_submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls,_** as those who will have to give an account.* Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
ruslan... the catholic view on losing salvation is so simple. (Trent Horn has a really great video about this) 1) If you die in the state of grace, you are saved. You might have to go through purgatory, but you are 100% saved. 2) you will lose your state of grace and forfeit your salvation if you commit a mortal sin. 3) a mortal sin is any sin that meets ALL conditions: i) it's a grave sin (e.g. against a commandment) ii) committed with full knowledge (you know it's a grave sin) iii) committed with full will and intent (not coerced) (if ANY of the three are not met, the grave sin is not a mortal sin) If a catholic commits mortal sin and they die, yes they are going to Hell (only God knows if you are truly in mortal sin or in a state of grace) 4) A catholic can be formally forgiven from ANY and ALL mortal sin and return to a state of grace at ANY TIME by repenting and receiving the sacrament of reconciliation. Yes, missing mass ONCE is a grave sin. Yes, pulling out is a grave sin. Yes, using contraception is grave sin. Bearing false witness is a grave sin. Fornication is a grave sin. Murder is a grave sin. These are all automatically grave sins inherently, but to know if they are mortal sins for a particular person, it depends on the other two criteria, which are internal and known ONLY to the sinner and to God.
Respectfully, concerning Martin and Purgatory, he also renounced his belief in Purgatory later in his life and in published lectures. He said in 1535, it was "ungodliness and unbelief." Contradicting solo Christos and the complete purification of the believer and propitiation we receive due to the blood of His cross.
@@JohnGiovannyat no point is anyone perfect and I think since we are temporal we can change our mind so what you believe today may not be what you believe in 10 years
Ruslan, I commend you for having a Catholic on to discuss their beliefs. Not many would give such a platform. I hope you can further research the things he said that challenged you in ways that made you uncomfortable ie Mary or the Pope.
At the end of the day, when you face God, he’s not gonna ask you if you were a cat to go across it. He’s gonna look for the blood sealed over your life and that’s the blood of Christ. That is the only thing that can save you.
Yes the flesh and blood of Christ that we consume in the Eucharist. John 6:53-56- 53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
Thank you I enjoyed your conversation it truly was beautiful to here two good men of god talking about there differences yet both truly followers of our lord Jesus Christ thank you again
The guy in the sweater sounds to me like he's praying to God that his understanding of salvation is correct. It's like he's pleading with himself that his understanding is correct, but he knows in the back of his mind that it actually is a little more complicated. Then toddler christianity
I never understand when they say Catholic understanding of salvation is "too complicated" as an argument against it. Why is there a presupposition that salvation must be as simple and believe and be saved ? And Catholic understanding of salvation is not complicated
St Paul tells us, in Rom 6, Christ does. At the moment of your baptism all Sin is forgiven and all debts paid. The CCC 1263 says it all done and paid for.
It was unfair to compare VOR's Biblical evidence for Mary being the second Eve by saying after "oh thats cool but ive heard calvanist argue double predestination by stringing together a bunch of verses" ok cool but VOR's conclusion is supported by Tradition as evidenced by the old liturgical prayer we've found that VOR mentioned, so these Biblical evidences hes giving are merely to show Ruslan a Sola Scriptura beliver that our Tradtion is not contradicting Scripture but that is is supported by it
It isn't mere works in a vacuum that get you to heaven, but God's grace through your faith THAT works (else it would be dead). Stop with the strawmen. Faith isn't a passive mental assent, but an on-going obedience and trust.
James 2:14-18 “What shall it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but hath not works? Shall faith be able to save him? 15 And if a brother or sister be naked, and want daily food: 16 And one of you say to them: Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; yet give them not those things that are necessary for the body, what shall it profit? 17 So faith also, if it have not works, is dead in itself. 18 But some man will say: Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without works; and I will shew thee, by works, my faith.
That’s great cause Catholics believe the same, we just have a higher standard of worshipping, and also, it is a gift that was given but just as important as the gift that is given, equally as important is how we take that gift and use it.
It’s kind of amazing how one prayer written in the wall is traced to the same time period that he says 80% of eastern Christians were heretical Arians. So the early church has all kinds of issues popping up all over from different teachers having different beliefs on things, some so bad that the get excommunicated and eventually declared a heretical and yet just 1 prayer from who knows who is evidence that the UNIVERSAL church believed in praying to Mary. No known church fathers, no sermons, no writings, no letters, no councils, just a prayer written in a cave and we are supposed to assume EVERYONE agreed with praying to Mary? That is not just thin evidence but a massive leap judgment to make that conclusion.
The prayers written somewhere are just a confirmation of how deeply the Blessed Mother is being loved and honored by the early Christians. You can search the internet for various writings of the Church fathers about the Blessed Mother and how they used scriptures to support these propositions. Just dig deeper. Do your own study.
About the missing mass part, I take it as your heart have to be in it. Ex: during COVID some would skip Church because of circumstances and some (such as myself) are secretly rejoicing as it becomes an excuse. In this case I am sinning. In the other hand, watching mass Livestream is a thing. Another layer you have to take into account is the attitude toward the Eucharist. If you don't think it is the body of Christ then the mass doesn't seem very important, and if you sincerely believe in it then mass becomes a very high priority.
Lots of Catholic love in the chat on a usually protestant channel. Not sure many of us protestants wanted to watch the full thing and that's why there is no counterpoints being made. But the conversation around the 1:10:00 mark was based off so much traditionalism and very little Bible that it seemed even he was doubting himself. Glad Ruslan pushed back but I think many times in this conversation Ruslan held back from arguing with VoR because its clear he has no intent to listen but is so sure of his Catholicism that not even the Bible could deter him from it.
Even the language in which he speaks to Ruslan is "this is how it is..." nothing of "this is what we believe, whats your POV" its als "THIS is how it is. EoD"
Catholics are Christians, God chose us to compile Bible and explain teachings like the Trinity. For example, God gave Peter authority, even though he wasn’t perfect and sometimes needed his beliefs corrected. His flaws didn’t take away from his God-given role of authority. While some Protestants may dislike us or misunderstand our beliefs, we don’t feel the same-we see you as brothers in faith and firmly believe in the role God gave us. ✝.
No you don’t your council Trent calls all Protestants damned, by virtue of believing scripture alone, Christ alone, faith alone, and rejecting Mary as coredemptrix these are core to Prostestant beliefs. It was the Catholics that drew the line in the sand.
I noticed Ruslan enjoys Orthodox critique of Catholicism when he interviewed that EO priest recently he was practicly salivating when he mentioned "you guys have some beef with the Catholics" it's kind of odd
What I don't get is why people like Alex always repeat the myth of Martinus Luder like what has been told in history is true. Luder changed his name and that is just the beginning. Lloyd de Johng has a series on his complete writings that simply uses his own letters. He is nothing like what he has been portrayed to be.
It's because he doesn't want Catholicism to be right so opposing views is feels right to him.. I was the same exact way Iam in RCIA now and still going to protestant church
@@mikeshoppe91 i mean I get that but alot of Ruslans beef with us is things that the EO agree with us on and not them, even the filioque most prots take the western view, only* similarity they have is not recognizing the Pope and going back on banning contraception
Could a better question be: is the worship of God an obvious reaction by a Christian? I think it’s an obvious response when a believer comes to a full (and fuller revelation of Jesus). My concern with focusing on the question of “is it an obligation to worship God?” Because this seems to reflexively cause a shift of focus from Jesus to self and sense of works in the worshiper: “am I or am I not doing these things?” Vs being so focused and enamored with Jesus that these things just flow out of you (the way giving and restoring what was stolen just flowed out of zacchias reflexively vs the rich young ruler who was focused on “what must I do?” Walked away sad and couldn’t give anything). Would love to hear anyone’s thoughts?
@@DailyBiblewhen you got hundreds and thousands of monks and people who dedicate their life to Christ, ima be like “yeah if you think God revealed this to you I’ll take your word for it.” We got televangelist that say they need money for new vehicles yet so many people believe them.
I'm shocked at how degraded protestatism now is. Unrecognizable from even a 100 yrs ago. Back then protestants were like Catholic in being open to life. The placing of self above obedience to Christ and excusing it is disturbing.
It's absolutely shocking when you read all the writings of all the anti-Nicean church fathers. Protestants simply would NOT be recognised as Christians in the first 350 years of the Church. And it's painstakingly obvious!
Protestantism is incredibly vulnerable to corruption. Catholicism can be wounded but never corrupted to the extent to which our Protestant brothers experience.
@@therese6447 but they all agree there’s one God, we all broke the moral law and deserve hell, but Jesus (God in the flesh) paid our fine on the cross to give us heaven.
I wonder if one of the reasons why people don’t understand one another besides being stubborn is because of our thought process. Like people with an inner voice, images or just words.🤔
Catholicism has hundreds of books from the original disciples and their direct descendants who prove our faith. Along with Marian apparitions that converted millions to Christ.
Ima be super honest here, there’s a lot of people that want Jordan Peterson to “put on the jersey” and choose Catholicism, that’d be great, but I’d rather have Ruslan 😂 honestly in this episode he sounds like he is asking because he anticipates to fully accept that Catholicism is the one true church. I don’t want to make those assumptions because I believe this dude is single handedly rallying people to live a better life. I remember when I first watched him, I was on my way back to being catholic after going to some Protestant churches when I was younger. He said “get your butt to church, idc if your Baptist, Protestant or Catholic” and for the first time I felt the spirit of God working through someone on the internet. Whatever is going on, it’s great to see someone loving Jesus the way Ruslan does.
Jordan is nearer than Ruslan. Jordan agrees with the logic of Catholic beliefs and stands on moral issues, the practicality of confession (effects on the human psyche), and their necessity in our current world. Ruslan looks overwhelmed here. But if he keeps asking and actually does a reading of all of the sources that the voice of reason talks about, he's on the way. You cannot unsee what you see unless you choose to be blind.
Romans Chapter 10 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
John 6:53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
@alri7908 would a JW or Mornon be granted eternal life if they confess, and let's say truly confess regardless of what they believe? Let's see if you are consistent
Ruslan tried straw manning thru out , he wasn’t listening, Alex was very clear , as clear as can be on various points but it seems Ruslans refuses to listen due to being closed minded
Ruslan wants us to pay for early access but does not wants to pay for his sins in purgatory!!! Ruslan that a lil joke, im still here watching and listening (even though you dont want me to) also a joke. I'm with you on this... John 3 16 Blessings 🙌 🙏
at 2:18:30 i don't think Ruslan understood, when he seems to brush aside in agreement about Mary being the new Eve (before the fall- Woman!), what are the theological implications. Adam and the 'Eve' were created sinless before the fall. This implies the immaculate conception of Mary, and doubly so because she was the new Ark. The old Ark made of incorruptible wood and overlaid with Gold, which signifies royal status and incorruptibility, so the new ark was made incorruptible from sin, to hold the word incarnate, high priest and bread of eternal life.
I can see the connection of Genesis and Revelation. In fact it's even talked about how, that's the first prophecy of the Christ being born of a women, in every study Bible I've ever had. It's not something Protestants deny, but then all this extra stuff is added to it, focusing too much attention on Mary , in my opinion. I have love and respect for Mary but we need to focus on Christ.
Acts 16 30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
@@alri7908 you obviously haven't watched the full episode because that got addressed. Us asking the saints to pray for us is the same thing as us asking others to pray for us.
"....And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. " Corinthian I guess Paul believe there are more than one Mediator
So with that interpretation the Holy Spirit is not a mediator. Also we should finish the entire verses. He is the only mediator that gave up is life for us. But the Holy Spirit is also a mediator Rom. 8:26-27 "Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. 27 And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."
To me it sounds like the Catholic Church is saying: Saved by grace through faith alone But and But and But... And you also have to do/not do This and This and This.... I believe the Holy Spirit will lead me in the right direction without me being terrified all the time, and that our love for Jesus is what motivates us, not our fear of hell. Also, it seems that NDE doesn't confirm purgatory, but is more in line with Protestant teachings.
@ Ephesians 2:8-9 For it's by grace you have been saved, through faith and it is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God-not by works so that no one can boast.
I love my Catholic brothers in Christ and I love their love for Jesus. That being said, I am sooooo glad I found Jesus outside of Catholic tradition and don't have to deal with all the add ons. Like C S Lewis says it, 'Jesus, and..'. I'll just take Jesus.
Peace be with you. Protestants are venerating God which is why it seems scandalous that Catholics venerate the Queen of heaven, the mother of God. Worship of God, the highest worship must necessarily involve offering of a sacrifice. That's what the Eucharist is, Jesus through the priest, is offering His once for all sacrifice to the Father. Wishing you a blessed Christmas!
If you are a drunk, you need to stop being a drunk for your family and yourself, you say sorry through confession and change, if not then what's the use of going to confession? Also, you will receive the indulgence if you are really sorry and plan on changing, because of god's mercy. Now, once saved isn't always saved if you are not sorry for the bad things you do, since like the robber beside Jesus on the cross, the one robber was not saved because he was not sorry for his sins. Accepting Jesus is only half the battle, he died for our sins now we need to live for him by becoming like him or else we will not be saved because we did not walk the narrow path, the path he came to earth to show us for.
To the Roman Church member: How many hours of Bible reading does it take to make the suffering for my sin in purgatory be so short it is instantaneous?
Besides partial indulgences there are also plenary indulgences which is a COMPLETE & TOTAL remission of the punishment for our sins--Church offers those through practices like the current opening of the Holy Door Celebration now happening. For example visiting a shrine (or your local bishop's seat/church), some form of prayers, prayer for the Pope, some type of charitable action can provide this plenary action. This is one example. Also performing indulgences helps to make up for our sins against each other...being an alcoholic doesn't just hurt us, it hurts our loved ones, etc. and justice is required for those consequences too. Hope this helps! God bless

So voice of reasons for NOW is good enough
But you're right Sam Shamoun would open more doors of a lot people to make people understand on the Catholics Stands and Dogma

As a Protestant ive been listening to more of these Protestant-Catholic dialogues for months now. Im still uncovinced of Catholic dogmas but i have more respect for their beliefs. We are both still followers of Christ at the end of the day.
Which one would you say you're most unconvinced on?

Thanks for this . I love both of my brothers. Ruslan and Alex .
Love this Convo Happened Alex was Cooking at 2hrs in about Mary. Let's Go! Thanks for having him on Ruslan and for having so many great questions.
Great conversation Ruslan! Learned a lot, much love for my Catholic and Protestant brothers and sisters 🙏

Yes!
@@povilzem what is reconciliation?
@@Reggieamponsah24it’s the sacrament of confession my friend
yeah, for Ruslan, the Catholic view of God's justice contradicts God's mercy and love when in fact, Jesus made the restoration of His grace so easy for us through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Thank you so much for releasing this on TH-cam. I thought you were only releasing it on the other platform
This was an amazing conversation! God bless both Ruslan and Alex.
The Bible is a Catholic book, read it from a historical lens and you'll realize the church depicted in Matthew and Acts is the Catholic Church.

Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
A key passage addressing this is in Romans 14 (which isn't part of the Gospels but is a letter by Paul):
Romans 14:1-3:
“As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.”
Romans 14:5-6:
“One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God.”
Romans 14:10-13:
“Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God... So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding. Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God.”
In these verses, Paul encourages believers not to argue over matters of personal conviction (such as dietary laws, observance of certain days, etc.), but instead to accept one another, as God has welcomed them.
(Trent Horn has a really great video about this)
1) If you die in the state of grace, you are saved. You might have to go through purgatory, but you are 100% saved.
2) you will lose your state of grace and forfeit your salvation if you commit a mortal sin.
3) a mortal sin is any sin that meets ALL conditions:
i) it's a grave sin (e.g. against a commandment)
ii) committed with full knowledge (you know it's a grave sin)
iii) committed with full will and intent (not coerced)
(if ANY of the three are not met, the grave sin is not a mortal sin)
If a catholic commits mortal sin and they die, yes they are going to Hell (only God knows if you are truly in mortal sin or in a state of grace)
4) A catholic can be formally forgiven from ANY and ALL mortal sin and return to a state of grace at ANY TIME by repenting and receiving the sacrament of reconciliation.

Gal 4;26 | KJV "But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all."
Question for a Catholic: Who pays for the temporal punishment of your sins committed before baptism?
St Paul tells us, in Rom 6, Christ does. At the moment of your baptism all Sin is forgiven and all debts paid. The CCC 1263 says it all done and paid for.
Protestants always say" I believe , I believe , I believe " and Catholics always say well "God says" or "Jesus taught the Apostles that"

It was unfair to compare VOR's Biblical evidence for Mary being the second Eve by saying after "oh thats cool but ive heard calvanist argue double predestination by stringing together a bunch of verses" ok cool but VOR's conclusion is supported by Tradition as evidenced by the old liturgical prayer we've found that VOR mentioned, so these Biblical evidences hes giving are merely to show Ruslan a Sola Scriptura beliver that our Tradtion is not contradicting Scripture but that is is supported by it
AMEN.
This is so sad. I can’t imagine thinking my works get me to heaven and not Christ alone
Well if you don't have works with faith it shows your faith isnt true so...
Faith without goods works is not at all a true faith now is it?
Great points Ruslan
Absolutely!
well done Rus.

I'm shocked at how degraded protestatism now is. Unrecognizable from even a 100 yrs ago. Back then protestants were like Catholic in being open to life. The placing of self above obedience to Christ and excusing it is disturbing.
Those parts of the vine that are cut off may appear to have life for a while before they inevitably wither and die.
Catholicism has also changed over time. Only Orthodoxy is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
It's absolutely shocking when you read all the writings of all the anti-Nicean church fathers. Protestants simply would NOT be recognised as Christians in the first 350 years of the Church. And it's painstakingly obvious!

Catholics do not claim to have hundreds of books from the original disciples. No one claims that.
I didn't read Ruslan like that at all. Was I watching the same episode? 😄 ❤
Romans Chapter 10

Alex was cooking here
How so?
at 2:18:30 i don't think Ruslan understood, when he seems to brush aside in agreement about Mary being the new Eve (before the fall- Woman!), what are the theological implications.

@@alri7908 you obviously haven't watched the full episode because that got addressed. Us asking the saints to pray for us is the same thing as us asking others to pray for us.
There is a difference between a mediator (only Jesus) and an intercessor (The Saints and the Blessed Virgin Mary)
"....And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. " Corinthian
I guess Paul believe there are more than one Mediator
Also, it seems that NDE doesn't confirm purgatory, but is more in line with Protestant teachings.
the Catholic church doesnt teach saved by grace through faith alone. There is no bible verse that says "saved by grace through faith alone"

Indulgences
Purgatory
The current Pope
The worship of Mary
Probably the biggest issues with Catholicism
Hi, friend. Continue to worship God the best way you know how. The Church will be here if later you decide to reconcile. Peace be with you!
God bless
Even if there was an answer to this question, someone is going to accuse us of legalism.

@@sherrywhite1517 Why not just accept and trust, Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose from the grave to give you a new life? ALL OUR SINS. The Bible does not talk about Temporal sins vs Eternal ones. If we were only forgiven for certain sins, the Bible would've told us so.
