Student Life Vlogs Francesca Thanks, I came to an open day and loved Exeter. I was wondering if you knew much about the accommodation for Lopes dining hall. I liked the look of Penny C but you haven’t mentioned it here so was wondering if you knew more on what it’s like to be there? Or I I’m better off spending the same amount of money for Holland Hall? Sorry it’s a long Q :) Xx

We did it! A day after you asked me your Exeter university related questions, here is my Exeter Q&a where I go through accommodation halls, drinking, diversity at Exeter uni and more!
Hey, Francesca! I was wondering how is the workload for Business Management student? I've heard that Exeter's got this reputation for being the home of Oxbridge rejects. This kind of makes me worry if their academic is so strong compared to mine. Kindly tell me about your experience.
I love this question! I will definitely answer it in my next q&a! for now i ll link you to my already existing vid about it!! th-cam.com/video/GTSqx6r30qk/w-d-xo.html
thanks for such great video ! wanted ask, you say freshers week is very 'drinking' orientated - i'm someone who doesn't drink and I worry about being only one who doesn't want to go clubbing... are there ways to meet new people during freshers week without drinking/clubbing like movie nights or something?
Hi Kira, thanks for your comment. I actually dont drink myself but love to party. If you do ever party and people ask you to drink just say that you dont and smile. Some will insist but you just need to keep saying no while smiling. Stay chill if they ask why and be unbothered. See it as an opportunity to inform them that not drinking and having fun is possible. If you do not go out, thats even better because you will find that you are not the only one that doesnt drink and you will be able to join societies that literally have so many activities going for non drinkers, you will definitely find your place, trust me. During freshers week there are SO MANY activities going on during the day that you will be completely exhausted by bed time. There is so much for non drinkers like us, and also for people who dont like partying. Try different societies, even ones that you would never consider. Sometimes its the people in the society that make it. Hope this helps!
@@OneCanFran ok makes sense thankyou for your advice - yes I don't like to party so think will join clubs and do the day activities instead! would you say there is specific accommodation you'd recommend for people who don't go out every night? as I worry I will be only one in halls to not drink/go clubbing... would be nice to be in a hall where others are like me and we stay in and watch movie or something !
@@carysmoss1717 I actually ended up attending a different university but thankyou for your helpful videos, they really helped me prepare for uni life :D
I've received an offer from Exeter for Sport and Excercise Medical Sciences which is based on the St Lukes Campus. What is the university experience like over there? Also, what accommodation halls do you recommend I apply for? Should I apply for accommodation on the Streatham Campus and make the journey for lessons? I do like the social experience, partying but also the sports facilities they have on the main campus... Thank you for all of your videos they are very helpful x
Hi Julia! I unfortunately am off campus now and have been for 2 years ish :/ Exeter is expanding the number of students and for that reason its making these "once upon a time" small accommodations a thing. All I can say is that ideally you want to be close to everything (Lafrowda/Rowe House) or in big party places (Birks Catered). If you like a good view Holland Hall is quite the place. Everything else is the same: it depends on your flatmates. Independently of where you will stay, your flatmates will make it or break it. The best part of this is that no matter how good/bad your flatmates are, you can totally switch or focus on society life. Basically, do not worry, you will be more than ok!! BIG LOVE
Hi Francesca! This video was very informative and fun to watch. I am Amrish and I am from India. I have gotten a offer for Ms genomic medicine in Exeter university St Luke's. Can you please tell me how is life in general at St Luke's? Also, what accommodation should I be opting for?
Great question: its just extremely far away and its worst than birks when it comes to getting somewhere. I remember spending some time there and for me it was a bit of a nightmare, location wise. Please bare in mind that the question they asked was what would you "personally" recommend so this is completely my opinion. A friend of mine who is a current second year was in Duryard and absolutely loved it. He said his people were exactly his kind of vibe (and hes a super kind person) so for him it worked. For me, I was looking for more "movement" and because of it being so far sometimes freshers get discouraged to get involved 100% in the uni experience.BUT THAT WAS ME 5 YEARS AGO (lol). Things change, people change, location though.. that's my point of view!
Student Life Vlogs Francesca thank you! Yeah I thought it looked quite far away but I don’t really mind haha. My other choices were birks self catered and townhouse and Rowe house (I think), I don’t really mind where I end up as long as I can meet some nice people & as you said you can find people like you in most places :) thanks so much for all your videos they are so helpful!
Hello! I haven't logged in on my youtube channel for over 2 years so apologies for not replying. I hope you found a solution. IELTS was compulsory for me in 2013... I wouldn't have known about the new rules even if I answered you on the spot as things change in the years. I hope you managed to call the University and ask them questions or email them!
Are there any tipps for young people who come to exeter to meet other young people in Exeter? I am moving to Exeter in fall to volunteer. Could you give any tipps where I could meet people either from the Uni or other young people:) thx a lot!

Aww! Thank you, what a lovely comment!!!! xxxx
For my personal experience, Exeter is super lenient for me as an international student. I couldn't believe I received an offer in 2 days.
