The rear wheel stearing is added because the lightweight package is designed to be the faster version. It's intent to be faster is served by both removing the weight and rare wheel steering.
Yah they should have called it the Super Sport Package or the Agile Package bc the rear steer does add back in some of the weight taken out by the lightweight package but makes the car more agile overall in conjunction with the lighter weight components of the lightweight package... also to consider is where the weight is added and removed... Adding some weight via rear steer to the lower rear of the car is not as bad for the balance of the car and removing weight in the glass and in the cockpit makes for a better balanced car with a lower center of gravity. So the lightweight package makes the car lighter in weight where it counts.

Im sure if anyone was to buy the standard Carrera they would be happy for a while tho if you spend that little bit more the satisfaction will last not to mention the resale is better.

If you prefer the "base" Carrera over the GTS, which I I do comprehend, what about the T (as a PDK)? It has the same power as the base, but some really nice and important sportier features. I think that would be the car to drive.
The T is to the base Carrera what the GTS is to the S. If he doesn’t value what the GTS brings to the table, he likely wouldn’t value what the T brings either. It’s the same formula, just less expensive.
I think GTS is the way to go, just speced "basic" carrera with all the goodies it went to 150k EUR, the GTS goes to 165k with very simillar spec and you get better breaks, pasm and more power

I ordered a Shark Blue GTS 2 from factory, Late Oct delivery, Mine has Ceramic brakes, carbon fiber roof, stock stereo and manual sport seats with Race Tech. 91+ lbs lighter when I take delivery then I will put in light weight battery saving 35+ lbs I would rather spend the $$ on Ceramic brakes than the silly lightweight package.

Nice review. I got mine 3 months ago. Red with lightweight package (CF seats), carbon ceramic brakes (PCCBs), center lock wheels and red seat belts. It is a nice car but it is not GT3 or Turbo or Turbo S (that is why I am selling it). I used to own AMG GTR 2018 (very dangerous to drive fast, traded it for new 992 GTS), 2015 Nissan GTR (kept it 3 summers more than any sports cars, it was top dog when it was released), 2007 911 Turbo (6-sp stick shift it was good) and 2010 BMW M3 (underpowered). So far 992 GTS is the most pleasant to drive. Rear wheel steering adds 7lbs from what I read. Anyway I am on the top of Turbo wait list at my local dealer. As much as I like my 992 GTS I will not miss it.
