i wanna know who the writer was for the netflix adaptation. It was SOOOO bad. Like nr 1 rule and the only rule I know about is "Show, Don't tell"... which was the opposite of every scene in the adaptation. unreal. The first scene where the earthebender stole the fire nation's plans and there was a chase scene, we as the audience literally see him using earthbending to punch the guard who stumbles down and yells "he is an earthbender"... yea we can fucking see that. also two scenes of aang just rambling about him wanting to be a kid and just enjoy childhood... yeah that's literally tHE point, why u even ran away in the first place, and kept ignoring the task aang, u don't have to tell us that in TWO DIFFERENT SCENES. Just something I wanted to get off my chest. You literally have a perfect show as a blueprint. Even If they just copied word for word the original avatar, it still would have been 10x more enjoyable.
Yeah I completely agree. It makes complete sense that the original creators of Avatar left the Netflix adaptation after seeing how they wanted to do it. Similar vibes to The Witcher, changing shit for the sake of change and ignoring the previous , superior work it’s based on. I’m honestly suprised the One Piece live action turned out so well since Netflix don’t have a great track record with adaptations.
Show don't tell isn't a rule. It's a guideline. It's a misconception that it's a rule which leads people to consider it bad simply because they did it. It's not inherently bad. It's just a crutch that can make it really bad if you don't know how to use it well. You clearly HAVE to tell sometimes.
Why do so many people hate legends of Korra (I’m not counting season2) it’s supposed to be a completely different show and you guys keep comparing it to avatar the writer said that it’s completely different and It shouldn’t be compared to avatar. (Btw every villain, in legends of Korra is better than Ozai you could actually agree with what the villains are saying we don’t talk about season 2)
There are many plot points and characters directly connected to the original. Tenzin, Toph, Zuko, the concept of Avatars and the significance of the airbenders returning are all heavily connected to ATLA. Calling it stand alone is a bit far fetched, it’s definitely a sequel series. Comparing the two is completely fine.
I'll just say it - people may obviously like or dislike whatever they want, but The Legend of Korra wasn't a failure It was a great show and they managed to show other things than they showed with Aang Even the villains were sometimes better than in Aang's show - as the fire nation were basically just taught to be evil and try to rule the world, the villains of Korra had some kind of interesting ideology which they took too far A villain as good as Zaheer is not something you come up with so often
It was a failure commercially when it aired in terms of viewership. I agree with the points you made about some of the villains. Zaheer was great. However, S2 and S4 were pretty mediocre and calling the entire show great is a bit of a stretch. It had some high highs but more frequently dipped to low lows.
Lmaoo that’s fair tbh. I think the show is overhated so I get wanting to defend it 🤣. Yeah s2 was pretty mid but s3 has some of the best moments in all of Avatar‼️

I abandoned the legend of Korra a long time ago, I don't like the main character, his antagonists and his secondary characters, I don't like everything, where Aang surpasses Korra is his personality and the way he masters elements ,Korra being more advanced than Aang could have been interesting but instead, she gets screwed easily, I don't like her personality and I don't like the series.
That’s fair, it’s definitely no where near as good as the original and has some unlikeable characters. I think there are some good moments in it tho like the beginnings episodes and Zaheer. But I agree , it’s mostly mediocre.
Nah I gotta disagree. The writing is worse. Even the creators admit they had trouble writing Korra since they only wrote 1 season at a time. That’s why Korra had 4 villains. The writing and quality of the story is naturally gonna suffer under those circumstances.

It’s a sequel series, it’s only natural to compare it to its predecessor. Especially when the original (ATLA) is such a great show.

I was talking about why it was considered a failure initially. Fault doesn’t matter.
The show had a massive fall off ngl, I don’t hear nobody talking about how good the show is. Super underrated
Which show are you talking about ?
They’re right, ATLA doesn’t get the praise it deserves. Greatest show of all time!
