A senior MAC makeup artist told me to pour it into my hand and let it rest for about 15 seconds then take your other hand and rub it into your palm (almost like you were rubbing lotion to warm it up before putting it onto your body) then work it onto your face. The action of warming it up and the friction does something to the pigments chemically and if you want heavier coverage this process does the trick
@@adritrez this foundation should be applied with fingers only because you need to rub it in like a cream, if you use tools it will not work and will stay very sheer as if you have no foundation at all.
@@adritrez no beauty blender, this foundation is water based, so the blender will absorb most of the foundation and you'll end up wasting more foundation
this foundation changed how i feel about my skin, i thought for the longest time that my skin just didnt accept ANY kind of foundation, id tried mineral types they just broke me out between my eyebrows, down my cheeks and around my mouth, the same went for creams in pan form, mousse looked cakey and some liquids looks like they were sliding aroundmy face even the matte ones to the point where i wouldnt dare touch my face, no amount of primer or change of tachnique mattered, then i found this wounder product!!!! it goes on like silk then makes you think that its disappeared, but the second you put powder or add concealer it just wowed me. years of battling the acne from make up GONE, fancy blending techniques- OVER WITH, you can apply and blend this to perfection with just clean fingers, it doesnt leave a tide mark around the hairline, it doesnt feel like youre wearing a mask either. i now love my skin and have never felt better about myself or make up :) 10/10
Your comment is making me teary, I'm totally in the same boat and I'm utterly frustrated. I've just ordered face and body, you've got me ever more excited for it to arrive.
Im so happy to talk to someone that has the same foundation issues as me, id see girls at the make up counters counter getting their make up done and being able to try out any foundation at all and id be there thinking- 'i bet they dont have to worry about her skin the way that i do'' no amount of exfoliation would help me with any other foundation, id look like an artexed wall or the foundation would clog my pores and itd look grubby within an hour or so- but face and body doesnt feel like foundation- i can see my freckles through it!!! :) best of luck with your foundation too, cant wait to hear about your results i hope they are as positive as mine- fingers crossed for you
Katie Woo Did it come yet ?? How was it I'm currently in a similar position although my skin is quite dry nothing ever seems to help it looks like I out billions of layers even when I put one but I want to try out this foundation as I heard many great reviews.
This foundation is my holy grail!! I have EXTREMELY oily skin and y use f&b foundation. The trick i've used for a long time is, once i placed the foundation a let it set for a few minutes, i press toilet paper on my face to get rid of the excess oils and to make the foundation sit well on my face. then I apply powder on the whole face (select sheer by mac and/or stay matte by rimmel) and anti-shine powder by kryolan on the T zone
Thanks for sharing. I have oily skin too. I used to put bb cream on a tissue or oil film first before applying it to remove the excess oil. I have to try your technique. :)
I bought the foundation because of this video and it's perfect. Foundations always look cakey on me, but this one looks just like my skin but better, no need for a highlighter, it's gorgeous. I'm converted!
This foundation is ABSOLUYELY AMAZING if you are a teenager still at school because it lasts all day and still looks really natural and it's so easy to just apply in the morning in a rush too and compared to the amount of product you get it's pretty inexpensive it's my holy grail and I would recommend it to anyone really because it's crazily buildable too
You are a saint! I have dry skin and have tried a hundred different foundations, but this is the only one that works perfect on me. Like you said, it really is the only foundation I have ever tried that actually looks like skin, not cakey! I am obsessed and will never go back to anything else. I can't believe it has taken me this long to discover it. Thank you so much for bringing this amazing holy grail product into my life! Absolutely in love with you and your videos!
Yes! Love this, work with your own natural glow and not against it. On most days I don’t even wear foundation on the centre of my nose, or I tend to remove any product in that area if my make-up looks too heavy. Also handy if you wear glasses, so you don’t get the nose pad indents 😬
This foundation is my favorite! I am quite yellow and have a hard time matching my skin but the shade C3 is perfect for me. I pat my blush on top and lightly brush bronzer and highlighter and it never cakes on top. Great product for people who don't need full coverage.
I bought this foundation years ago at the time though I tried applying with a sponge or a brush and the results were trash until I found out about the finger technique and it changes my view of this foundation !! ITS AMAZING ! 😭❤️
I love love love this product. I wore it for my mother's wedding, and yesterday for Musikfest in the hot sun and I looked amazing. You could still see a couple of beauty marks that I have, which is why I love this makeup so much! It is so natural looking, and I don't need a lot of coverage so it's perfect.
It took me literally a year to figure out how MAC names their shades and learn that there are different shade codes for different foundations. So, for Face and Body, I finally found out my shade (this was about 2 months ago). I use it almost every single day. For someone like me that has almost zero oil production on their face, this is hands down the best foundation.
I bought F&B years ago and I had it in my cupboard for YEARS before I really started to appreciate it. It took me that long to really love it, mainly because its not a high coverage foundation to what I'm used to. But it can build up in layers. I love a med-full coverage but 2 layers of this on my face looks amazing. You have to massage it into your skin until it goes 'tacky'. I then start patting it to make sure it doesn't set streaky (and also so my red-prone skin settles down from the 'massaging'). It is so natural and beautiful with a bit of powder applied (I use the MAC blot powder) people will think you are just naturally glowing. For people like me who have bought it and are disappointed with it - don't give up on it! It's truly beautiful. ONE thing I would say though is it doesn't have great staying power (compared to the epic Estee Lauder Doublewear which is impossible to beat anyway - my HG). A lot of makeup artists say its waterproof but for some reason, not on my skin. Otherwise, its wonderful!
I just woke up. Havent gone out of bed. Havent brushed my hair. Havent put my lenses on. The moment i woke up, i went straight to your channel. Love you so much gorgeous :)
I used to used this foundation years ago & loved it, but I got away from it for some reason that I can't remember... I've been for a new foundation recently & think that I'll try going back to this one. Thanks for the reminder of a great product!
Will you please tell us where the video is that you mention at the end of this one? The trick to not make your blush/bronzer catch? Please and thank you. I used to use this foundation in high school, and I received SO many compliments when I wore it. Not sure why I ever stopped. Recently I started wearing it again and the compliments are back, too!
I would love to try this. For anyone in the UK wondering - MAC have been out of stock for weeks online. I contacted them and they assure me it's coming back but said it would be in new packaging. Hope that helps! x
Wayne I went through at bottle of this and I did like it. I am not sure I had the right shade though. Do you have a video that explains how to pick the right mac foundation shade? I have to order on line plus I am afraid of the Mac counter people. ha ha.
I do love this foundation, after it sets, it is extremely beautiful. I've applied this every which way including your method. I can't get it to last past 4 to 5 hours, no matter what I do, it doesn't cut it for long wearing in my book. It is beautiful tho, until it breaks down.
The foundation that I use is a different brand, but has similar qualities in the finish, so I just used your tips for applying powder strategically, and it's amazing how much more "awake" my skin looks! Thanks so much for posting this!
I love Mac Face & Body! I have been using it for the last 3 months and I'm so happy with it. I love that I can go from sheer to full coverage without having to change foundations. I can't wait for the powdering secrets:)
I'm so glad you explained this - I've struggled with Face & Body for a while, and it's spoken of so highly, but I've always been annoyed with it because it would go patchy, I will try this method! :)
Thank you thank you thank you Wayne for this video!! I love the fact your featuring this. I use this on my models all the time!!! This foundation is my HG!
all time favourite foundation! absolutely perfect for summer, nice and light.. also its sweat proof because it's water based, what more could you ask for! with some added bronzer and highlighter I get compliments all the time on how glowy my skin looks
Hello Darling! Here's a first, I'm commenting B4 I watch the video ! THANKS FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!! I just bought 2 different shades of it & was kinda like , now what !!! Lol I've heard so much about about it. In a few minutes here I'll know the proper way to apply. I like to call it the " GOSS METHOD" I use the " GOSS METHOD" in nearly every approach & application of makeup & makeup related items. I've said it B4 & I"ll say it again- thank you Wayne for all your tireless work. You simply are the best ! I really value you. I also luv your wit & humor, it's brilliant !!
I just picked up a sample of Face and Body the other day... I'm a convert! It doesn't cake, it's the perfect balance of dewy but not greasy. I'm in foundation heaven!
I think it's gorgeous! Used it many years ago before I really knew had to properly apply makeup, so you've made me wanna re visit it after years of disliking MAC foundations. I only need light coverage and prefer a dewy finish as well now so thank you Wayne! Your skin looks great
I love this foundation!! I didn't like this when I initially bought this a couple years ago, but I'm rediscovering my love for it. I have found that the older I get I want less coverage and more of my natural skin to shine. This is just lovely for that. The mac face and body (C4) is a perfect match for my face and just gives that my skin but better look :)
Ok, I just went into the bathroom and tried this! I wish I would've known this earlier, I have a brand new bottle that i've had for a year and could never really get coverage with it. This works like dream! Thanks!
I looove face and body! I'm 51 years old and the older I have gotten the less makeup I want to use. I use only one layer and set with either Mac blot powder if I want a natural look or Mac powder foundation plus if I want more coverage. What I love the most about it is it NEVER settles into my fine lines or wrinkles or looks cakey, and pairs well with my sunscreens (Paula's choice Super Light wrinkle defense or Kiss My Face). I did try their Mac Water Weight foundation before this because the Mac Sales assistant convinced me it was better that F&B, but not for me. It separated on me and stuck to dry areas. Best value for money also if you buy 120ml. I'm just sad it took me till I was 50 to find my Holy grail!!
it's really funny that you use your fingers to apply which I normally do and it gives amazing results because I recently bought a beautyblender hoping that it would save me time doing my make up in the morning but it just didn't work at all with this particular foundation and you just reassure me of that. thank you ;)
I like to blend in the foundation with my fingers and then go in with a damp beauty blender afterwards because it helps to create a slightly more flawless finish and enhance the dewy effect
I miss those type of videos but what I miss even more is my OWN PASSION and DEVOTION to makeup and foundations in particular. It feels like losing ur power of imagination in adolescence. Like u really WANNA BE ABLE TO PLAY but the magic and creativity is suddenly gone never to return 😟
I need to watch the next video you mentioned asap because I have very dry skin and I hate using powder but I feel if I don't my blush and bronzer looks patchy and uneven. Love you Wayne you are the best!
I love using face and body, it's my foundation of choice when I'm filming with actors. Because it looks like skin on screen! I tend to buff it in with a fluffy brush and then powder where it is needed after it's settled for a few minutes. Great thing that it's fairly water resistant and sets well if you use it on arms and legs ☺️
Love your videos Wayne!!! I use face and body almost daily and those are awesome tips!!!! Would you be able to do a video comparing the mac f&b and make up forever f&b? I'm on the fence on which one to buy as I'm almost out of mac!!! Thank you so much! You look AMAZING!
Face and body is the first high end foundation I have bought and still is! I love the look of just perfect skin and powder the same areas that you did! I love being assured that I've bought the right product and am using it properly because it only occasionally pops up on TH-cam. Love this video as I always do
It's my holy grail of foundations and I only own 3 foundations and 2 bb creams. I have mature and beautiful skin but hate all that heavy coverage that hides the skin then cover it with too much powders too. I agree with you 100%!!!!
I looooove dewy skin. It looks so young and healthy. Also, it's great to mix in with other foundations. I mix it with a bit of pro longwear foundation, and it's perfect...perrrrrfect.
This really helped cause i love how dewy it leaves your skin but often i feel to greasy but i would of never thought to use powder on the oily areas thanks !!
Hi, i bought c6 yesterday and am so glad saw your video first before trying it out..thank you so much...Mac person said the same thing, dont apply powder everywhere only on your t zone cause i have a combination skin...
I would love to try this foundation but I'm not going to do it without being colour matched and my nearest counter is a boat ride or a plane ride away (and I don't want it *that* much - I'll wait until I have to go over for something else). It really does look nice. And check you out Wayne, over on Charlotte Tilbury's channel having her gush about your brushes! Thought that was really lovely to see you both together. The look she did on the model was gorgeous too, very VB!
Good Day Wayne. At the end of this terrific video, you mentioned a follow up video. Basically how to add blush & bronzer on top of Face & Body. Could you let me what the name or link to that video? My sincere thanks.
wow crazy-- I had just started looking into Mac Face and Body a few days ago and was wondering the best way to apply it. there were a lot of different opinions but I'll trust your method as best :) thanks!
I have combination skin and lately it has been too oily. I do everything I can to mattify it, yet I feel like my skin is fighting against me and producing more oil the more I try to keep it matte. I have been using Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Rimmel Stay Matte Primer, and Palladio Rice Powder. Sometimes I spray my face with NYX Matte Finishing Spray.
Have you tried a mattifying moisturizer? I have one by no. 7 it's fab, costs 5 bucks at ULTA. I get super oily too and it keeps me matte all day outside in the hot weather to boot.
i used to have the same problem too, you can try to use blotting paper, it works amazing, buy from a cheap brand cuz at least they all sell simple paper, so it doesn't even leave the cakey finish of when you put too much powder on your skin ^^
Well, oily skin needs hydration too. Drink lots of water & hydrate from the inside out. Try first layer of a good tinted moisturizer. Let it dry. Second layer, a good white finishing / setting powder, a thin layer. Let it set a few minutes, then apply f&b, let it dry, & then to set the whole look with a finishing powder
One of the few foundations I like to use with my hands. However, if you have clients that do like to use their hands, use a MAC 187 and a coin sized amount of F&B, dot the foundation around the face with the 187 and let it sit for about 10 seconds. It will thicken, then you can swirl it in with the 187 like a normal foundation. Of course it works best on moisturized skin. :)
Hey Wayne! Loved this video! I don't see the one you spoke about with applying blusher so it doesn't catch? No powder... Also- what happened to the mascara challenge?? I loved that!!!!
Hi Wayne! In this video you said that you were going to make another video to explain how to use blush and bronzer in the non-powdered skin!! I am waiting for it, I really need to know that trick so my blush and bronzer don't look patchy. PLEASE MAKE THAT VIDEO!! you are the best!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! :) I just bought the mac face and body foundation and I was told to rub it in with my fingers, but couldn't believe it. So that was very helpful, thank you! I do want a 'my skin but better' look and I think I'm right with this product, thank you :)
Hi, I love MAC Face and Body because like you said it is like a second skin. It is an amazing foundation. I use C4 during the summer and C3 then C2 as the weather turns colder. I just wish there were Face and Body shades with a point 5 like 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5 etc. as it would be easier to get a match to natural skin.
I have a love-hate relatioship with this foundation. I have almost finished my 2nd bottle (120 ml) but at the very end it runs thicker like a cream foundation. I also use it for my legs mixing with a body moisturizer and really love it.
I agree with you the foundation looks gorgeous. I can't wait to see the next video. I have been applying my blush and contour (bronzed) before powder. I wonder if I'm doing this wrong?
Just gone repurchased Face and Body because I have realised it is the most versatile foundation I have ever used. I can custom blend the colour, the coverage, the finish. / I love my Chanel Vitalumiere but this has been a happy rediscovery for a dry skin girl. As has Fix+ to fake dewy. In fact maybe its the early 90s trend that's happening but I am re-feeling MAC as a brand. Ignore the silly over promotion and concentrate on the basics and it is a solid brand, at a reasonable price. Except Mascara, have never liked their mascaras.
You tease! This is the kind of stuff I want to know! Cannot wait to see the blush without powdering technique. Also would LOVE to see a video on applying SPF, foundation etc to very dry, flaking, eczema type skin and the products you use (oily on nose only so combination products dry me out). No matter what I try, I look dry and old if I set with powder. Have tried many powders, and your tecniques, as well as setting sprays in place of powder (makeup moves/separates if I do not use powder as I am so fair that I must use SPF which I blot as you taught me to). Currently using Paula's Recovery line of skincare products. Cannot get Tillbury Magic Cream shipped to the U.S. What's in that stuff, crack? ;)
Not sure if you still read your old posts. It id love to know how best to buy online when you are ordinarily very pale (think English rose. With warm undertones (green veins, dark hair and blue eyes - total combo and a nightmare to find the right tone!) Do you suggest a light face and body foundation Med with say a Studio Sculpt in a darker colour so I can mix as and when I self tan? Here's hoping your reply ☺️
It's hardly an odd coincidence. You bought it,, so then you looked up tutorials and videos on it. Found this. You see? Your action of buying it caused you to look it up to find out more about it because you were a little excited about it.

I have found that the older I get I want less coverage and more of my natural skin to shine. This is just lovely for that. The mac face and body (C4) is a perfect match for my face and just gives that my skin but better look :)
u know how happy I get when i see a review about a product I looked up that is done by this man! THIS AMAZING MAN!! Wayne Goss YO DA MAN!
Yes, this has been a staple in my kit too. Lovely product for so many things and you can mix and match as needed.
Ok, I just went into the bathroom and tried this! I wish I would've known this earlier, I have a brand new bottle that i've had for a year and could never really get coverage with it. This works like dream! Thanks!
I wish I was there, and I wish you were doing me Wayne, I really do!
Love your tutorials! When you lean, I lean, that's how much I am into your videos! lol
I've been using this foundation for years and love it. Thanks for the powdering tips.
U dont need all this cosmetic.... u r already blesses with a great skin... u r very handsome😘
F&B is so beautiful; I use it in White to make my slightly-too-dark foundations lighter and make the finish nicer.
Thanks for the tip, Wayne! Will be trying this out today.
It does indeed look exactly like gorgeous skin with no makeup on it whatsoever....flawless and amazing!!!! xx :)
I adore the mac face and body. I cannot live without this foundation..💟💟💟💟
I changed from Matchmaster to Face and Body and I will never go back! :)
awesome video and i love watching your videos... my makeup looks better than it has ever looked thanks to your tips... your awesome:)
mac face + body is my absolute favorite! i always apply with my hands, too, but never thought to use it in place of concealer -- will try next time.
Been using this every summer fit years! Can't live without it. I was surprised you used a c6 and I'm black and used c5! You must be really tanned! lol
I bought my first bottle of MAC f&b N2 just tonight at Macy's. I can't wait until tomorrow to wake up and use it.
I cant find it, did you?
wow crazy-- I had just started looking into Mac Face and Body a few days ago and was wondering the best way to apply it. there were a lot of different opinions but I'll trust your method as best :) thanks!
Ashleigh Sanders No, I should get that. They also sell no.7 at Target.
A gel formula moisturizer helps best. Paula's choice also has a mattifier that works great too
i used to have the same problem too, you can try to use blotting paper, it works amazing, buy from a cheap brand cuz at least they all sell simple paper, so it doesn't even leave the cakey finish of when you put too much powder on your skin ^^
I just love your videos. You are amazing!!
I love this foundation. You only need a tiny amount as well. I find it also photographs nicely. I wore it for my graduation.
I'll have to get mine out again and try your technique. Because I didn't like how it looked on me.
I love the way you explain things, an absolute joy to watch. Xx
Looks beautiful! Would this be your top pick for photoshoots? Looking for a good foundation for an upcoming shoot!
You're a gorgeous man! Sometimes I don't even hear what you're saying. I loved the vid thanks for the tip ;)
Random thought, Your eyes are gorgeous! From a big fan! You are awesome Wayne!
Only foundation I wear in above 85 degree weather 🌞✨
Handsome ....... What a cheeky little number........
I love mac face and body I use the shade C1 mixed with the white shade to get the colour light enough for my skin tone x
I had this in mind to pick up but haven't gotten to it. Now I'm in a rush to get it!!
The finish looks so amazing in the end!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! :)
I just bought the mac face and body foundation and I was told to rub it in with my fingers, but couldn't believe it.

Thank you Wayne! I got this foundation for Christmas and was wondering how to use it best! You've really helped me thank you :) x
I have a love-hate relatioship with this foundation. I have almost finished my 2nd bottle (120 ml) but at the very end it runs thicker like a cream foundation. I also use it for my legs mixing with a body moisturizer and really love it.
Which powder was used please?
I agree with you the foundation looks gorgeous. I can't wait to see the next video. I have been applying my blush and contour (bronzed) before powder. I wonder if I'm doing this wrong?
Just gone repurchased Face and Body because I have realised it is the most versatile foundation I have ever used. I can custom blend the colour, the coverage, the finish. /
I love my Chanel Vitalumiere but this has been a happy rediscovery for a dry skin girl.
It's definitely one of my very favourites!!
Thank you! I have this and I didn't know how to apply!
I love MAC F&B !!! NC20 using C1 and N2
Thank you Wayne...your videos are always so good!
Making my first ever purchase of this foundation next week on my girls shopping day out.....:) brilliant demo thanks so much :) x
I literally JUST bought this foundation and it was delivered to my house today. What an odd coincidence!!
It's hardly an odd coincidence. You bought it,, so then you looked up tutorials and videos on it. Found this. You see? Your action of buying it caused you to look it up to find out more about it because you were a little excited about it.
