what a complete review Julia! The quality and color of the 100% crop unedited of the model are outstanding! I headed right into your review first because is always so professional and you can tell the hard work put into the production, nicely done. Thanks and congrats again Julia, Dan and Lidija!
Agreed, I've probably watched a dozen reviews of the A7iv already and this is by far the most useful one I've seen! Sure technical specs and whatnot are woven in throughout but I really appreciate the attention to things like lowlight performance, color grading of the unedited photos, and autofocus 'stickiness.' It's like most reviews out there are answering the question of how it works, but Julia gets to the heart of "does it work?" and at the end of the day I don't care about nitty-gritty specs, I care about the quality of photos and video it produces. Great job!
I like the tones of warmish colors coming from this Model. . The hair color, the blush and lip shade has allot of warm tones and draws the eyes against the gray tones of the stone brick wall and skies. The contrast of ginger hair against the green foilage in the background and at times, complimentary colors. Excellent location for this shoot! The quality of these photos is gorgeous!
I've been shooting with the Sony a7iii for almost three years now, and I will absolutely be upgrading! As a portrait and boudoir photographer who's been getting into video, the flip screen feels perfect (and what Sony has been missing), and the COLORS! Wow!
Undoubtedly the most detailed and the best reviews you've ever made Julia. Damnn those 100% cropped unedited images. Just beautiful. This shows how excited you re for this body :P . I'm from Sydney and I'm in love with the portrait shoot location you've shot. Could you Let me know what's the location you've shot this shoot in? Once againnn... Brilliant Workkk Julia. Big Fannnn.
Thank you! Finally! In real life at least half of stills photographers prefer a tilting screen (better be a dual-orientation tilting screen like the Nikon Z9). But youtubers make manufacturers think everybody want a flip-out screen. You are literally the first youtuber I know that doesn't like the flip-out screen.😂 So thank you.
Thank you! Haha its so weird, online I definitely feel like I'm in the minority preferring the tilt screen.. but in real life I know so many photographers who prefer tilt too
What a camera.... Amazing review Julia. This truly is the jack of all trades camera. I personally can truly say the colors coming out of the new Sony's is even more appealing than canon colors now.
Today was a long day, but it was worth it to get to see this video about your opinion and that of other youtubers about this camera. In the end I have decided to buy it and I am very happy.
For event, wedding and portraits it's a no brainer. Probably the best camera in the price range. Such a competent Jack of all trades! It checks so many boxes except for 4K 60p full frame, but that would cannibalize the A1 and A7Siii lines or they would bump up the price to $3000+ I'm upgrading from A7iii and looking forward to it! Great balanced camera!

@@juliatrotti Hi, Julia! Can I ask what do think about R6 vs Sony IV? I know the pixel count was an issue for You - but what else You would consider as an advantage of a Sony comparing to R6, maybe a word about lenses choice also? I think many people are thinking about this choice bow. Thanks /Alex
I love your videos! For real, I was looking for videos literally showing this camera working. And you do that beautifully. Those 100% crop are something else, they really set the videos apart.
It's not leaps and bounds better, but it checked the right boxes for me and I can't wait to get it. I'm looking forward to your future videos with this!
Love the new a74 so far! 😍 that AF is freaking amazing! Well I just bought the a73 like 2months ago and as I am not a pro photographer yet, I think I will skip the update and invest some money in lenses. The a73 is still an awesome camera and way to go. But the AF, colors and new body are killer in this new model!
One thing I rarely see included in review videos is the speed at which you can switch between photo and video mode. I am a hybrid wedding shooter so I am switching back and forth all day. I briefly switched to the Nikon z6 ii because I could take a burst of photos, flip the switch to video and literally instantly start shooting video with preprogrammed settings, then switch right back to taking photos. This is critical during the ceremony when things are happening fast. My a7iii takes at least a few seconds to switch between photos and video, and is virtually useless when time is of the essence. I’m really hoping the a7iv offers much quicker transition between the modes.
@@wotiluv In some cases yes that would work, but not for an entire wedding day.. not for me anyway. Especially if the subjects are moving a lot and I’m shooting a lower frame rate. Too much motion blur. So I need to be able to switch back and forth, and from what I’m hearing it’s pretty fast so we’ll see.
Brilliant once again!👌 So I'm saving up for this camera cos it's down to one and a half grand. Currently doing phone photography using an Xperia 1 mark 5. I know. It's totally not the same ball park but I want to familiarise myself with the menu etc.

Julia, i have a question. I know you can´t decide for me, but if you already hav a Sony A7R4 ... would you spend the money into the ne Sony A7 IV Body or in (ex.) Sony 50mm 1.2 ?
Julia nice video, i never seen these type of video, model is also so much adjustable. over all explanation in this video is so good. u can also make comparison between A7C vs A7M4.
Great review! From a photography perspective this camera really checks the boxes for a portrait and wedding camera. It has some nice video upgrades also, but the lack of an uncropped 4k 60p is a real bummer! I’m pretty sure it is a firmware limitation, which is even more disappointing. Has me on the fence on adding this camera to my kit.
Same sentiments, but I love that it's 4:2:2. Maybe a solution for that is to invest in some extreme wide glass like the GM14mm..F1.8 or the GM 16-35mm f2.8.

Great review, great camera, great location, great model and great photos. Well done!
Heya! I have an a7siii but i have been primarily using it for wedding photography and portrait photography rather than video. Do you think i should sell it and go for a7iv to get higher megapixels?
Julia, i have a question. I know you can´t decide for me, but if you already hav a Sony A7R4 ... would you spend the money into the ne Sony A7 IV Body or in (ex.) Sony 50mm 1.2 ?
Julia nice video, i never seen these type of video, model is also so much adjustable. over all explanation in this video is so good.
u can also make comparison between A7C vs A7M4.
Color looks 🤩 wow
Thank you for another great review. How does the A7IV autofocus compared to the A7C, which is supposed to be a bit better than the A7III?
Great review! From a photography perspective this camera really checks the boxes for a portrait and wedding camera. It has some nice video upgrades also, but the lack of an uncropped 4k 60p is a real bummer! I’m pretty sure it is a firmware limitation, which is even more disappointing. Has me on the fence on adding this camera to my kit.
Same sentiments, but I love that it's 4:2:2. Maybe a solution for that is to invest in some extreme wide glass like the GM14mm..F1.8 or the GM 16-35mm f2.8.
