Great video. Now I get it. Lean shaft forward for less bounce (tight lies etc) and back for more bounce (tall grass/rough)
just be a little careful, shaft lean forward takes off bounce but can bring "digging" into the equation, shaft lean back can open the face up to go straight under in tall grass etc. Exposing the bounce by minimising shaft lean can be great in bunkers etc. Overall, the bounce can be manipulated but if you find you're doing it one way in particular too often, it may be worth reviewing with your coach to make sure you've got the best bounce options for the shots you like to play/find yourself playing a lot

How much is medium bounce?? What would a medium bounce be for a 54 or 58 degree? Thank you for addressing this question!!
Medium bounce is generally about 8-10 degrees. You can find 54/56 degree wedges can have slightly higher bounce as standard because these are seen as standard sand wedge lofts, so you can find a few more wedges with 12/14 degrees of bounce to help from the sand, but there should still be the medium bounce options too if you'd rather

Great video Mark, I want forgiving wedges and for my sand wedge and lob working in wet and fluffy sand and in the rough and tight lies so I guess medium bounce could be the key then. Do you think that speciality wedges( Sand/ lob) are better than wedges all in a set of irons as I’ve had some pros tell me that set wedges tend to blade shots more and you need more bounce.
In softer lies and sand, medium to higher bounce can definitely help prevent digging and give you a bit more forgiveness in strike. Speciality wedges definitely have a place; if you like to be versatile with your wedges and play a range of different shots, this is where they'll stand out. However, going from a cavity back game improvement set of irons into speciality blade wedges can be quite extreme, but there are also some cavity back speciality wedges which can be a really good option. If you don't need the versatility quite so much, wedges from a set could also work, but I would double-check the standard bounce on these before going ahead; they won't have the bounce and grind variations to suit your game that is offered with speciality wedges.

I’ll be absolutely, brutally honest
Started to play regularly again, made a member of a club near myself, got my handicap from not playing for 20 years (18)
I’m now down to 11.3, playing handicap of 10
I’m 49, took the game up at 10 years old and had major break from the age of 29
all I had was a pitching wedge and sand wedge
One thing Iv noticed other than the handicap system making average players look better than they actually are is the amount of tech thats pointless to the club golfer
I take bounce is more towards the ground/course played on?
Meaning how hard fairways are from course to course
The best bounce for you is definitely affected by the course conditions you tend to play on as much as it is affected by your golf swing and how you play your shots. This is why even the best in the world will change their wedges from links golf to your standard PGA Tour event course etc

That explains why I blade my 58 with 12bounce
This could definitely be a contributing factor, particularly on firmer ground this is a relatively high bounce
It would be good if you could have provided the numerical range of the bounce.
Low bounce can be anything down to about 4 degrees and high bounce can be up to around 14 degrees. Everything else is a bit a continuum in the middle but mid-bounce is typically seen as around 8-10 degrees

Somewhere around 8/10 degrees for most wedges
