    I play the TSI2 4 wood which was 42 1/2 inch std and cut to 42 with a plus 4 weight to get it back to D2. I notice the GT 4 wood is 43 inches and the heaviest replacement weight is +6. If I take an inch off I feel like +6 is not enough to get the swing weight where I want. One of the reasons I like Titleist is they didn't keep making their clubs longer and longer... but here we are...Houston we have a problem Any solutions?

    • @GolfShopOnline
      @GolfShopOnline 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think you'll be far off with a +6 weight but I've not tested it to know the exacts. Another option could be the 5 wood which is 42" as standard. The changeable neck allows you to get the loft down to within 0.75 degrees (17.25) of standard 4-wood loft (16.5-degree) which, if anything, would help with stability and dispersion like shortening the shaft can

    • @GolfShopOnline

      That is the only best way to find your shaft if possible, I always thought the lower spinning shafts were for me because speed isn't such an issue but was pleasantly surprised when playing around with some other options. Sounds like a lighter Denali red could be a good starting point for you, but definitely give a couple a test if you can

    I've seen some video's recently which seem to support that for swing speeds south of 90, a smaller head like a 3w (and maybe a mini driver?) actually produce longer results off the tee than a larger headed driver. Perhaps due to hitting center more often? So could there be a good fit for someone who struggles to find the sweet spot consistently on a larger head?

    • @GolfShopOnline
      @GolfShopOnline วันที่ผ่านมา

      This is interesting, I've not seen so many of those specifically for slower swing speeds, but there is definitely an argument for its benefits for anyone struggling with their dispersion with the shorter shaft length and I suppose psychologically, a smaller head could focus you a bit more at address but there's probably less to support that as it can also lower MOI/forgiveness etc

    • @GolfShopOnline
      @GolfShopOnline 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I wouldn't say it's better, the Qi10 has been developed from Stealth 2 so TaylorMade have been able to iron out anything they wanted to improve on. Obviously the results will be different from golfer to golfer and Qi10 has different head options too, but comparing Stealth 2 Plus to Qi10 LS, you'd probably find they're pretty close options for most golfers that may not warrant the upgrade for the cost

      This effectively strengthens your grip, so you set up and see an extra knuckle or so on your lead hand compared to a neutral grip. It's a grip that can contribute to someone overdrawing or hooking the ball in extremes, but for many will help encourage this draw shot shape when needed

    • @nickskerrett5240

      @@GolfShopOnline got it, thanks. I'm booking my first lesson soon and want to focus on the basics first up. I've tried following video examples of how to grip a club. Problem is I have large hands and even with oversized grips my lead hand ends up extremely strong. Probably not a common enough problem to merit even a short video on the topic. But if you would like to fly to Australia and show me what's what, I'll buy you a pint 🍻

    • @GolfShopOnline

      Sounds like a fair deal 😂 That sounds like a good plan, you can't beat an actual lesson. There are plenty of fundamentals you can pick up from videos etc but when you're trying to diagnose any weak points in the swing, it's so unique from golfer to golfer that it's not always the fix you think it is. Enjoy it and play well!

    Mark If I'm playing p790 irons what type of wedge would fit these, a bladed or cavity back

    • @GolfShopOnline
      @GolfShopOnline 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great question! I reckon something like the Cleveland CBX-style cavity would be a good option, with a mix of forgiveness on the longer wedge shots and versatility when needed. Or you could blend with a cavity gap wedge to help maintain forgiveness on the longer/square-faced wedge shots, moving into to a bladed lob wedge etc if you prefer the bladed look and full versatility around the green

      Great point and glad you're enjoying the content! He's a big believer that forgiveness is for everyone, not just game improvement, and the stronger lofts help with a bit more distance too. He does play a "second pitching wedge" (ZX7 I believe) to fill the distance gap from the stronger lofted irons to his traditional wedges but enjoys the extra help he gets from ZX4

    I’d.ike to see some actual comparison. I’m a senior and I’d like to know if I’ll get more distance from the velocity without sacrificing too much performance around the green and on approaches.

    • @GolfShopOnline
      @GolfShopOnline 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There aren't many, if any, distance gains with one of these over the other. You will sacrifice the greenside spin with the velocity, but in return it will give you a higher launch/landing angle to try and help compensate for this on approach shots

    • @RichardYoshimura
      @RichardYoshimura 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      To be honest I don't see how for a slower swing speed how the Velocity doesn't go farther than the Pro V1. Even on the Titleist website the Velocity is marketed "For the player who is looking for distance above all else".

    • @GolfShopOnline
      @GolfShopOnline วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you line up the full range (Titleist or any other brand), how they launch may suit you slightly better or worse, but you'd have to hit so many shots to see any subtle differentials in the distance, especially by the time you bring in your standard deviation etc. It will launch slightly higher, which some argue can help carry distance in your mid-long game, less off the tee. The easiest way I like to think of it is that with Pro V1 (or equivalent), you pay for all-round performance, and with such a focus on distance in the game of golf, people wouldn't keep playing it at any level if there was a chance it wasn't delivering at the top end on that front. The biggest thing that tends to influence price is spin, particularly around the greens, which is where there are bigger performance differences from velocity to Pro V1, for example, so possibly by pushing it towards "the player who is looking for distance above all else" they're referring to the fact the distance will still perform with the best even if the short game spin isn't quite there. There's no question it's a great ball for its value, but I'm yet to see it outperforming a premium ball in any area

    • @GolfShopOnline
      @GolfShopOnline 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No golfer needs to buy premium golf balls. Yes, any golfer will see performance benefits if they fit in your budget, but this definitely isn't always worth it if you're losing a few too many. Finding a ball at a price and performance level that you're happy to stay consistent with, whatever that may be, is much more important

  • @BEAN9999

    • @GolfShopOnline
      @GolfShopOnline 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Although there's other factors that can affect it, hitting up on the ball tends to decrease spin if anything. You can find hitting too far on the up, much like having the ball too far forward in your stance, can leave you prone to leaving the face open for a fade/slice, but obviously there's plenty of factors which affect this too
